Today we went out for lunch to a town outside Madrid called Aranjuez…read more The restaurant called La Estrella de Aranjuez has a nice outside terrace with parasols so we decided to dine there. Before I carry on telling you what we ate I would like to tell you how I would call this experience: The Misfired Orgasm. We decided to go for the menu of the day so I chose the Lacón a la Gallega and she chose the full salad. Both were delicious. Second course I chose the cod in marinera sauce and she chose the Iberian ribs. The fish in sauce was excellent but the ribs were too undercooked inside, nearly raw though the outside was nearly burnt. For pudding we were going to go for the large strawberry and cream but they didnt have it. Instead I chose the flan and she the pancake with chocolate and cream. Both were pretty disgusting as the flan and cream on both were warm. The young waiter was pleasant and polite and the total bill with a San Miguel beer and a Fanta came to €19.00 which I thought was OK

La comida era casera (homemade) y deliciosa! Highly recommend this restaurant. Os recomiendo mucho a este lugar. Mi amigo y yo pedimos arroz a la cubana, judías, sardinas, y pollo (fue del menu) y costamos menos de 10 euros. I ordered arroz a la cubana, white beans, sardines, and baked chicken (the lunch menu. The price was less than 10 euros plus we got dessert. I ordered a chocolate crepe, and my friend flan. De.li.ci.o.sa todo! En vez de llamarlo La Estrella, podemos decir La 5 Estrellas.

One thing to note about Spain, it's very difficult to find a good restaurant that your American…read morekids will eat at and enjoy in Spain. The Spanish don't do sweet, they virtually include zero spice (I'm not just talking about spicy, I'm talking flavor too), and they love their cheese, the more potent the better. Therefore, Italian food has sadly become our go-to in Spain with the kids. For this reason, late in the evening we needed a meal and found/sought out this place because it's Italian. Upfront I'll tell you this, it's not good but it's not bad either. First off, the place is tiny. Most places in Spain are so that's not a surprise. Our party of five had to be separated and seated at two tables away from one another. However, what was surprising was that the entire restaurant was at least 20 degrees warmer inside than it was outside, which depresses your appetite significantly. They don't have menus but they do have what I consider to be the worst thing to ever happen to restaurants, the dreaded QR code (http://www.pastucci.com/wp-content/uploads/CartaCascoIngles.pdf). The menu consist of pasta, pizza, lasagna, apps, and desserts. Our party had the Margarita pizza, pepperoni pizza, melenzane lasagne (eggplant lasagna), and penne la funghi (penne pasta with cream sauce and mushrooms). The pizza was good but extremely greasy, the penne was very good, and the melenzane was gross, soggy, slimy, basically a lump of sizzling goo. The food took forever to prepare and deliver but each dish was hot. In total, this meal cost us about €63, not too bad for five. The bathrooms were clean and unlike most Spanish restaurants had paper towels to dry your hands. Plus, they had a female and male toilet. However, I'll let you be the judge on which is which since one is a blue angel and the other is a red devil with a dress. Overall, not a horrible experience but I probably will not return. The food left much to be desired and the wait time was incredibly too long. I guess the kids will just have to be good with tapas and tortilla next time we're in Toledo.

We stumbled upon this restaurant, we could see the bright lights on a dark road. The staff were very attentive and provided our drinks/food in a timely manner. We made it easy and just ordered a large pepperoni pizza. It was good, and hit the spot. There aren't a lot of pizza places in Toledo so I'd come back for another pizza craving if I am ever in Toledo again!

Quick note before the review: This is not the same restaurant it used to be some years ago. Old…read more5-star reviews were well deserved by that time. The food's quality was terrible: - The pizza ingredients were very low quality and not well distributed. - We ordered a simple margherita and it didnt even contain basil leaves. - We ordered a different pizza with egg and bacon: it was also really bad. - Even the balsamic vinegar was bad. (They only had once of these thick vinegar bottles, and the cap was all dirty) - the focaccia was the worst: It has a thick section that was half baked, and the rest of it looked like a thin crispy bread/cookie For the staff: - The staff tried to avoid adding the discount from the reservation. After complaining, they fixed it, but you shouldn't need to complain to prevent being charged extra. - The staff was a bit lost on what was their menu. - They were polite at least The restaurant: - This used to be a different restaurant, one of the best pizza places in Madrid. About aprox. 2 years ago, the owner sold the restaurant and a different one was put in place of it. However, they decided to keep the name of the restaurants as well as all the excellent reviews it had in apps like yelp and trip advisor. While it could be a bit unfair to compare, as it is a completely different restaurant, in which only the name of it remained, the restaurant now has cheaper prices than the original one from years ago, but the ingredients are even cheaper, so in reality, the quality to prize ratio got a massive negative impact.
