When we arrived there was a line of cars hugging the side of the building. Hmmm, wonder what that's all about? Anyway, the wife jumped out to pick up our order while I turned the car around. I was a little surprised to see her empty-handed, but then again, we ordered at 5:55pm and were notified that it would be ready at 6:23. And it was 6:15, so I figured we came too early. Nope. That's not it at all. She was told you can no longer pick up inside and must drive in the car pickup line. But not to worry because there are three people working the line and it goes quickly. We learned later that was a lie unless their definition of quickly is vastly different from mine. We maneuvered ourselves back in line and waited. And waited some more. Our 6:23 pickup time came and went. There was one person bringing food out to cars, and she was hustling. She finally brought our bag at 6:35pm. The time stamp said it was ready around 6:13pm. Yeah, it was waiting for us while we were waiting for it. Tepid sliders and potatoes, but still not only edible but delicious. Their food is outstanding, but not outstanding enough to endure the travesty that is their car pick up line. I sure hope they address and remedy this issue. There are so many dining choices in Lafayette, and Zea's is among the best. But it would be a shame if I were forced to choose another because of someone's bright idea to speed things up.
