Stopped by early on a Friday evening on our way to Fort Garland and they were "out of pizza.".

The lone Picadilly employee/cook greeted us with the typical charm and untroubled attitude of a small town local.

After placing the order on DoorDash, we arrived at the estimated time. It took forever for someone to help the folks in the queue. I was told to pick up at the bar. Honestly, the place was not that busy. I have no idea why they can't answer the phone or manage the queue. I've been at locations with more people and similar staff size. They need to either improve their operations or hire more staff if it's a busy time for them. At the bar, a guy was in front of me and that order took a bit to complete - he was offered red pepper flakes and parm. And there was some chit chat. During my turn, they got it out but it was obviously missing an order. The lady didn't even notice that line item (soup in a bread bowl) missing. It's listed there - if it is not on the menu anymore, do not pretend like there was nothing wrong. Very shady, very distrustful. I asked the lady about the order and she said the bread bowl is not on the menu anymore. I was going to ask a question and interrupts me and says that she couldn't do anything as she walks away. She didn't even offer me red pepper flakes or parm. Very rude, very distasteful. Whatever, I can take it up with DoorDash but she was rude. I went back with two specialty pizzas. I thought the pizzas were alright - I do have comments. I think the wood roasted pizza concept is good since there isn't one in the area. However, the crust was definitely not the star (one would assume it should be for wood roasted). One pizza (baked potato) was definitely a bit pale for the crust - seemed like it could have been in there for longer but I enjoyed the toppings. The other pizza (holy pork) had a better crust but still something I didn't finish - the toppings were one note. The peach didn't add much to the flavors after it was overpowered by the pork. I think I would be rated the food better cause it wasn't bad but the service left a bad taste in my mouth which lasted throughout the meal. Honestly, I didn't even finish it. I always leave tip for pick up orders and I left one via DoorDash when I placed my order for The Purple Pig, but my experience with The Purple Pig makes me reconsider giving a tip all the time for other pick up orders at restaurants. I order out a lot and haven't experienced this before so it's unfortunate.

We visited in person and there was maybe 8 people in the restaurant and we asked how long it would be to get wings to go and they said 2 hrs... also the pictures online showed the wings & pizza not looking so great either. The prices are also insane, for 5 wings it was $20 and it was $35 for 10 wings. We really were hoping these reviews weren't true but were skeptical and wanted to try anyways but we're disappointed that everything was true. We left the second she said 2 hrs for wings.

The pizza itself? Delicious. Worth eating and no complaints there. But everything else about this…read moreplace is a disaster. I waited nearly an hour for my pizza while only two people slaved away making food, taking orders, and serving customers. They were clearly understaffed, underpaid, and overworked -- yet still doing everything they could to keep up. Honestly, they deserve a raise which I'm sure they won't get. As I'm waiting for my pizza I happen to glance through the window to the kitchen and see a sign posted in the back from management. It screamed things like "Absolutely NO phones, I'll lock them up until end of shift" and "I'm not afraid to replace anyone." It even listed reasons why employees should leave such as "if you don't care or don't want to be here" and "don't want to do the work or do what you're paid to do". Instead of encouragement or support, it was pure threats and intimidation. The food is good, but no slice of pizza is worth watching workers get burned out while management hides behind a whiteboard full of ultimatums. The people making the food are carrying this place on their backs, and it shows. Even with terrible management the workers were giving it their all with a restaurant full of hangry customers staring them down. The fact the pizza was good is honestly a testament to them not the culture set by management. Until management figures out that a thriving restaurant requires more than fear tactics and skeleton crews, you should expect long waits, frazzled staff, and the uneasy feeling that your pizza came at the expense of people being run into the ground.
