With very few exceptions, the employees at Dawson Rd are incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Every time I shop here, the level of customer service is shockingly low, I honestly don't know if it's a management issue, an issue with the area, or both, but it's consistent. The absolute worst areas are the deli and seafood counters. The employees there treat customers like an absolute burden or the enemy just for asking for service. It is a deeply uncomfortable and weird energy for a workplace where people are being paid to assist the public. If you hate working here that much, let someone else have the job who actually wants it. The only saving grace of this store is the meat department-the guys back there are always friendly, polite, and helpful. I've also run into a couple of kind associates in produce. But for everything else? Drive the extra distance to the Hwy 19 location. The staff there actually knows how to treat people with basic respect.

I ordered and prepaid for 2 trays for my daughter from the Dawson Road Location deli department…read more When we both called to adjust the pick up date on our order it was so VERY Difficult to get through to anyone on the phone. Even the main number just rang. When my daughter finally got through to someone in the deli department (the 1st time) she was met with a very rude and unhelpful individual. I had call from another city in order to speak to a manager. THEN, I still received an email reminding me to pick up the tray on the original day, after the manager said that she would change the information. My daughter called back the next day in order to make sure that the tray would be ready on the day needed and she STILL couldn't reach anyone on the main number or on the deli number after callin five (5) times and letting it ring. VERY frustrating. She has to now drive to the location today and hope that the tray is ready for pick up. I understand being busy but I have experienced busy stores in metro-Atlanta and have never encountered such poor customer service from Publix. Hoping that they improve in order to save the Publix legacy.

Google will always point me to a Walmart, Publix or Target whenever I search for butcher in this area. Then I discovered Mike's Country Store. I've been passing them on my way out of Albany and they're usually not in a central location. Little did I know that I'm going to find my pork cuts there. Mike's Country Store has fresh and frozen pork, beef, turkey and priced lower than Walmart, Publix and Target. They have the odds and ends which one day I will buy for my Filipino dishes. I've always been on the lookout for pigs ears for the sisig dish but Google will always say you can find it in Albany but in the dog treats section. Happy to report that it's in Mike's! Mike's Country Store has cooked food and I recommend that you get their home made bbq sauce with them! So good! They have a deli section which has a slow moving line. Considering Mike's stores are not centrally located, people drive all the way for their deli so it is promising, will definitely try when I return. There's a lot of parking space and staff is nice and accommodating. There was a little old lady struggling with describing the cut of meat she wants and the guy who worked there was very patient with her. Thumbs up!

It had been out of date since January 2025. I was visiting in August 2025. They have a known habit of taking bad meat and covering it in butt rubb before rewrapping it. The management in store is also very very poor. The country store road location posted a hiring sign, I called and was told over the phone "OK call me Monday and we will get you in the system and go from there", then the manager blocked my number and ghosted me. I have 24 years of experience in grocery stores specifically, so their is definitely something not kosher in why he suddenly changed his mind, especially given his comments about "the kind of people who work at Pic N Sav." (my previous employer) Not a healthy attitude to have as a supposed member of leadership, and telling about why mike's is in such bad shape that Mike Rogers has tried to sell two of his stores in the last year to his competition.

This place is made like all the rest of them really they have a little bit of everything. I was a little disappointed in the aisle of shame I think that's what they call it. Is the aisle that have all the seasonal fines that you won't find anywhere else. It was lacking. I don't know what happened to it but there were some bear shelves in that aisle. I made my way over to the spices and seasonings and it did not disappoint. Whenever I am in Aldi I will buy spices and seasonings because they're so cheap. The meat section was pretty good everything looked like it was fresh. On the end cap I happened to find some pumpkin cider and some cranberry cider. It was so good. If it's still there I recommend anybody buy it. Next I went over to the wine section. You really can get like three or four bottles of wine for 20 bucks. The thing about it is they're not bad wines it's either they're pretty good. They even have Prosecco I was a little surprised by that. My only complaint about this store is that it did not have a handicap cart or buggy scooter whatever you want to call it. Some people cannot walk the floors of these stores. Please take that into consideration. Oh and one other thing there was quarters lined up on the wall next to the buggies outside. I thought that was so sweet that someone was paying it forward and providing quarters to get a buggy. That was a nice thought.

The produce lasts longer compared to Walmart. You can't expect much out of stores in Albany, but this location exceeds expectations! The parking lot is big. She's rude and has such a mean demeanor to her. Even when she was checking out my items, she was extremely rude. She needs to work on her customer service and needs to start treating her staff nicer.

They could sell a lot of stuff but they don't know what the hell they are doing. You go to look at lunch time and nothing is out or done. No one wants to even ask if they can help you. The GM just stares ahead uninterested if you point out any thing at all that he needs to do. Simple stuff that a junior manager would normally know to do. I guess their junior managers are poor too or the GM keeps them down to his level. The store is just OK at best for groceries. The Deli is a joke. They could make a fortune there if they would stop stealing and actually cater to customers and you know, have food out on time. Anyway. I hate them. Never go if there's a choice because why reward such poor quality?

The workers are far more helpful here than at the supercenters due to the lower foot traffic. Never extremely crowded especially later at night. And the self-checkouts are a much-needed help.
