I ordered and prepaid for 2 trays for my daughter from the Dawson Road Location deli department. When we both called to adjust the pick up date on our order it was so VERY Difficult to get through to anyone on the phone. Even the main number just rang. When my daughter finally got through to someone in the deli department (the 1st time) she was met with a very rude and unhelpful individual. I had call from another city in order to speak to a manager. THEN, I still received an email reminding me to pick up the tray on the original day, after the manager said that she would change the information. My daughter called back the next day in order to make sure that the tray would be ready on the day needed and she STILL couldn't reach anyone on the main number or on the deli number after callin five (5) times and letting it ring. VERY frustrating. She has to now drive to the location today and hope that the tray is ready for pick up. I understand being busy but I have experienced busy stores in metro-Atlanta and have never encountered such poor customer service from Publix. We order our groceries delivered, because we don't have a working vehicle. They are shopped for and delivered by Instacart. I've only ever had an issue with one shopper, who got upset because he had to wait for my subs. Michael, diamond shopper, cancelled my order without explanation and disappeared. Never mind...the lovely lady who replaced him was WORTH waiting for!! The subs are the best!! The chicken tender subs are out of this world!! Out of the dozens of times we've ordered, we had a problem one time close to closing, and talked to Ken, the deli manager the next day. She remade both subs at our convenience and I'd give her six stars if I could!!! She did MORE than Instacart offered to do. read more

Publix always clean, orderly and excellent staff. What I don't understand is why the prices compared to Kroger are so high. We drive an hour and a half to shop at Kroger. I can spend $200 there and get enough food for 2-3 weeks. We can spend $200 at Publix and it is good for about a week and a half. why is the Publix on 19 so much better in every way than the Publix over here by the mall? I just moved to this side of town. For the past year, all of the flowers are always dead and in comparison to the one on 19, there is a horrible selection. I've asked why and they said they haven't had a florist in that store for years. I was just there and waited twenty minutes for a girl to make a sandwich for someone who had pre ordered. When I finally got to tell her what cheese I wanted she said she would have to cut that particular type of cheese. I travel around in retail all over Georgia and I go to Publix everywhere. When stopping in to get some fried chicken the day before Christmas, the store was packed and the 8 piece boxes where sold out but it was 12:30 so I figured I won't be too long, so I waited 20 minutes standing front of the empty chicken warming area. I watched the employees laughing and playing and talking about what they wanted for Christmas and what they wanted their spouses or boyfriends to get them. 20 minutes of being ignored, but I waited politely. Finally one of the young girls came over with some boxes of what I was hoping was fried chicken ,but turned out to be some fried wings. She looked at me and said, "What do you want" in the tone of you are bothering me. And I said, "I would love an 8 piece chicken box please" and she said, "I ain't got none and I don't know when We is gonna have some ready!" I said Ok and put back all my groceries. Publix... with the prices you charge, you should invest in polite and courteous staff... from what I understand from working for the public, they pay your bills when you sell them items. If you don't need customers to buy from your store to pay your employees, please put up a sign that says, "We don't need or care for your business and we really don't enjoy providing you with anything at this Albany location. Please go to the Lee county store where they are happy to provide you what we don't care to at this location you bothersome person you!!" Question... why did the customer leave the Publix in Albany to go to the Publix in Lee County? Cause the Albany Publix ain't got no chicken!!! read more

Publix is by far the most upscale grocery store in the Albany area, by Southwest Georgia standards at least. I don't come here often, but when I do I tend to buy some organic/ethnic foods. The store is well clean and always stocked. Prices are not insanely high but they are a slight step up from Walmart and some other regional chains. However, it is the quality of the meat and produce that often wins me over. I love the bakery section. It's the best out of all of Albany's super markets. You won't see too many ratchets shopping here and that is a good thing. read more

Friendly staff, unmatched selection and quality make this the grocer of choice in Albany. They have a nice ethnic section, really prominent organic choices, and a pretty solid wine aisle. Sun./Mon. seems to be the worst days for stocked shelves, and don't let price confuse the fact that they offer great sales weekly. This place is hyped up by the locals, who probably have never been to a place like Central Market. But still, it is the best grocery store you'll find in Southwest Georgia. Publix Albany has the "Best Assistant Meat Manager" of any super market I have to in all my years. A month ago I asked him to order a veal shank for Osso Buco and he did, also cut (5) to my specs 21/2-3 inches, great service and good veal. This week I asked Clint Giddings (asst meat mgr) to order me "Prime" filets (3 in), strips (2in), ribeye bone in (2 in). These steaks are beautifully marbled, prettier than mail order steak houses I have used! Again 7 stars for Mr Giddings, 5 stars for Publix, being able to get "Prime" locally! Great store but I have to ding the Deli Dept. The customer service in this particular store is abysmal. Prepare to wait 10-15 for anything, regardless of the time of day, even if you're the only one in line. My senior year book in 1953 featured an ad for Publix. We have lived in states that didn't have a Publix. There are 2 stores locally. One in Leesburg and one in Albany where we live. We love the Leesburg store but shop mostly in the Albany location. On three occasions I found cashiers that didn't follow Publix protocol. Greet. Ask if you found what you are looking for?
