Love this family owned sandwich shop! They have the best biscuits, and on Fridays they have cheese biscuits (as seen in pic). They also have sweet treats like baklava, floats and gooey cookies.

The Cookie Shoppe is a staple in downtown Albany...their sandwiches are amazing and the cookies are great too!...I really like the Godfather sandwich on the sub roll...it's delicious!...the place has been in business almost 40 years total!...go down and see Mrs. Mona and give it a shot!

This place was packed, line was out the door for lunch. Worth the wait. We were recommended from a local and took the chance. Boy were we happy!!! Sweet tea was amazing, help yourself for seconds. Owner has been here 35 years she told me herself.

Cheap and Cheerful at its best! I arrived to this establishment due to the reviews. The experience was fantastic from beginning to end. The ordering system is friendly--and so is the staff. The checking-out process was efficient. The wait time between ordering and receiving was really short. When traveling on the highway, it is really nice to stop and get a local feel--this place definitely has it. I ordered the Pimento Cheese Sandwich with bacon and a cup of Chili (as per the recommendation of a local waiting in line). The sandwich was really good and the chili was superb. It came served with a small bag of Lay's potato chips. My company enjoyed the food and the place as much as I did. Two in my party got Cinnamon Raising Bread Pudding for their dessert--both raved about it. I bought a Cinnamon cookie for the road and can't wait to try it. This is a truly great and quaint establishment--the oldest in downtown Albany.

Pretty expensive and sometimes the service may be a bit rude but I love the food. I've been eating here since I was a kid about 35 years

Just so happens I was in Dawson and well, the pickings are pretty slim so it's not surprise this place jumped out at me immediately. The name is certainly no lie, it literally looks like a (rundown) farmhouse off the side of the main (?) road through town. Parking is plentiful, assuming you don't mind parking on unpaved and uneven ground. Certainly wasn't an issue the day I visited but I can imagine it'd be a pain if it were raining. Inside there appeared to be plenty of tables inside, along with a couple high tops and an odd bar type space to the right. Ordering was most pretty straight forward, and the girl taking my order was happy to point out the things they didn't have that day (brisket and a host of sides). Regardless, still a pretty decent lineup to order from including ribs, chicken and pork, along with some crazier options I didn't spring for (turkey leg and frog legs!). I ended up getting the rib plate and added a few extra bones, which they were quite accommodating on and just asked how many more I wanted. Taste wise they were quite good, great smoke, pretty meaty and I made quick work of them all. I elected for beans and potato salad for my sides, and while the beans were forgettable, the potato salad was pretty good. The sauce was ok, nothing too fancy and just a basic sauce that I ended up adding a bit of hot sauce to. All in all, a pretty solid place in the middle of nowhere. Don't know when, if ever, I'll be back but I wouldn't hesitate to drop back in again.

We decided to try this place considering the reviews and it didn't disappoint. We had the ribs and…read morepulled pork sandwich and both were really good. Their fried green tomatoes were sliced thin which helped keep them crispy. The serving sizes were plentiful and definitely worth the money. We definitely will be back when we drive through town again.

The food we got was solid. We were able to try a wide variety of menu items: the ribeye, fried catfish, fries, asparagus, mac n cheese, Caesar salad, pecan pie, and cookie skillet dessert. They were all great, but we have some favs we'd get again. Even though they're a "seafood place" we preferred the Ribeye! Tasty, tasty flavor and VERY generous portion. All of the sides were excellent. No notes. Then in terms of dessert, u strongly recommend the cookie skillet over the pecan pie. Sadly, we didn't care for the pecan dessert at all. It felt like it didn't have ANY pecan in it. Meanwhile, the cookie skillet was TO DIE FOR-- YUM!

I was by myself. The table was very sticky. It was "clean" and it was off putting. Had almost like a film on it Jordon arrived at the table not long after. She bright my Pepsi and took my order. Than I didn't see her for a while. My drink was empty for at least ten minutes. She brought my food and was walking away before I asked for a refill she wasn't very attentive. She may have had other tables, but I didn't see any. Burger and fries were delivered. Not sure if my food was waiting in the window for a bit but it didn't taste super fresh. Fries were fine at best and the burger was decent. Absolutely not worth $25. It was a $25 meal that was worth about $15 bucks. Had big hopes for this place. Left disappointed. Maybe thats why it wasn't so busy on a Tuesday night?
