THEY HAD ME TEARING UP WHILE CONSUMING THEIR SOGGY MUSHY SORRY "PIZZA", it quite literally disintegrates before your eyes after about 5 minutes. The rest of the food isn't so great either, if I had to describe their menu in one word it would be "Uninspiring". Although the atmosphere is nice and doesn't have dead flies lying around on every table (like it used to a couple years ago), this isn't nearly enough to save the experience from the unequivocally disappointing, banal food. Last night I went to eat there with my husband. We were sitting at the terrace because it was a nice weather to be seated outside. We ordered one seafood pasta and one all dressed pizza. The waiter brought the foods to my table. He didn't even ask if we want parmesan cheese and Chili oil . But they did offered the other table. What the service !!! So I have to serve -self to get a Chili oil from other table. I didn't like the experience there. They are not even friendly to me. They didn't come to ask if everything is ok. Not even pour more water into my glass once. They wasn't full house that night. On top of that the foods are so so. My seafood pasta: shrimps are those frozen mini shrimps, chopped clams ( not a full size ) and scallops mini for 28$. All dressed pizza is just an ordinary. I won't recommend there. read more

Food was great, the best lambchops I have had in years, however the service was awful. What happened - where are the owners seeing what's happening. People with Pizza got better service than people who buy wine and spend big $$. Once the food came we were totally forgotten by the waitress. We asked for espresso when she took the plates away and she sad sure after never to return. When she did come back wanting to know if we still wanted espresso it was all we could do but laugh....and get out of there., SO sad I will never go back just because of the service and we used to go all the time!!! My friends and I have been going to this local restaurant for over 30 years. When people come to town, birthdays and special occasions, we have dinner there. Service post pandemic has been poor and that has been a common theme at many restaurants. But tonight's experience signals the end of an era and not in a good way. A friend and I ate there. Lengthy delays with our food so lengthy, a half a dozen other tables came and went and we were still waiting for our take out order that was ordered the same time as our meals, a missed appetizer, I cleared our plates from the table as no one came to do it. Leaving out many details as the most important detail is that when I addressed all of this with the manager, nothing was done. I said we'd been coming there for over 30 years and she said most of the customers have. It had been a busy and difficult evening for them. A bad night. There was no apology, no compensation for anything. Nothing except utter and total rudeness. And my friend who paid the bill actually did get charged for the appetizer we never got. Then the manager came back and said after we called it out, that she took it off the bill. As though she'd done us some big favour. Gee thanks for removing the charge for the appetizer we asked for but never got, how big of you. It really is the end of an era for me, so many memories there but with a manager so rude who clearly could care less about lifelong customers, I will not go back. read more

Last night Thiery (Terry) overbooked the restaurant at 6 pm including a table for 20. The servers were stretched and when we asked 1.for menus 2. for service he said he's not an octopus and a young woman server said she only had 2 hands. We waited 1.5 hours for our main course after delays with drinks and salad as well as everyone in our section. The restaurant was full to capacity. As a customer Thiery made us feel that he/ they were doing us a favour by serving us as the restaurant was full and that we needed to be patient. When we questioned were they short staffed and if so why did they book a full house for 6 pm. Thiery said that's the business. It was about reservation chaos, disorganization and greed and no respect for customer service. read more

Haven't been to this restaurant since the renovations. It always looked packed so my girlfriend and I decided to go in for dinner this evening. Unfortunately it didn't turn out the way we expected... Service was slow, the food coming out from the kitchen was slow and the quality was at best mediocre. There seemed to be adequate busing and waiting staff yet we spent most of the dinner with empty glasses. So overall a thumbs down experience and definitely not worth the money.... read more

We took my teen-aged nephew to dinner here, and it was a solid meal. We shared a calamari appetizer, which was light and crispy (it's so easy for calamari to be greasy....this wasn't.) We also had the cantaloupe and prosciutto, which was ok but if we hadn't ordered it, we wouldn't have missed anything. I had the Caesar salad and the gnocchi with pesto. Both were tasty. The room is uncluttered without being sterile, and was very comfortable. The only odd thing was that I ordered iced tea and was told they didn't have it. I asked if they had ice, and was told they did. I asked if they had tea, and was told they did. I wasn't trying to be snarky, I just wanted iced tea. One of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Even my kids were appalled. Decent food, but horrible, horrible service that included waiters shouting at each other and ripping the table cloths off our tables (we were a party of about 15) the moment the meal ended, and one waiter challenging a member of our party on the size of her tip. Horrible place to go with a large group. Plates were either over or under cooked and they forgot to include the pasta AND meat sauce that comes with the chicken parmesan (we really aren't a picky group but forgetting something that important on multiple main dishes is a bit ridiculous). Our waiters mixed up plates/bills and water glasses were left empty for more than 10 minutes at a time. When it came to the bill itself there was no breakdown of individually billed items. We were a large group so we broke the bills down by family, being 4 people on a bill with plates not being more than $35ea. and one $25 bottle of house wine, our bill came out to $270 tip excluded!! Without a breakdown of any prices our waiter just stated that each plate was no more than $35. When asked to explain the bill we were ignored. Being in the rush that we were, we ended up paying the bill because we did not have enough time to argue with a manager. I've been in the restaurant/bar/supper club industry for 7 years now and often go out for dinner and I have never had such piss poor service. Needless to say we will never be going back there again. If I could give it a 0 out of 5* I would. read more

So unimpressed, I am never going back. The waitress was rude and unconcerned about anyone, she didn't even know what tables ordered which meals. She came back out to bring food to another table and complained about our table while she was delivering their food. The other waiter with her had to point out that it was our table she was talking about while she was a few feet away. Food was subpar. One of my friends ordered a salad which she returned because it was drenched in the wrong dressing (which was not mentioned on hte menu). We ordered a pizza that took nearly an hour to bring out, and when they did it was the wrong pizza. When we told them, they took it away and brought it back 10 minutes later after having thrown on more toppings- no apologies. It took forever to get all the meals, and when they were all finally delivered, one of them was cold. The staff walked by us multiple times and seemed completely unconcerned about their customers. We ate maybe half of our meals and when the waitress came to take our plates, she only asked if we would like it to go. Not how are meal was, and if we were happy. Just if we want it to go. No interest in going back. Would rather drive further away or spend more elsewhere for better food and service. read more

Food is just alright but really uninspired preparation. Presentation and quality is bare minimum in order to call it "good". My last two visits (in last 4 months) had really poor service as though they were understaffed. Best bet is the pasta. Worse choice is the pizza. For that, go across the street to Gigi's instead. We have given this restaurant multiple opportunities to redeem their poor service or quality from time to time over the last 12 months because they're pretty much the only Italian fare in Pointe Claire. But tonight was the last straw and we are done. They have a couple of very good waiters but the bar staff and more critically, the management, is just rude and in need of a reset of what customers mean for their business and livelihood. We made reservations for 7:30 tonight but they first could not find our name... then it turned up but written in a piece of flying paper rather than in their 1980 appointment book.... Despite our reservations, time continued to elapse and they never bothered to keep us updated on when we would be seated... instead any mention of wanting to be seated was a bother and an imposition. After 45 minutes a lady who appears to be the owner proceeded to explain to us that reservations are just an approximation and that we shouldn't expect to be seated on time... the barmaid had already rationalized with us that a party of 6 (like us) had arrived after us but had been seated before us because they made their reservations before us (as disorganized as they were I doubt they could tell when each reservation was actually placed...). The true fact is that they had a wedding party having dinner that night and each bad experience we have had there has been when they were over 50% full or with one large table bogging down the system. The kitchen cannot get the dishes out fast enough and comes to a screeching halt which then in turn messes up all the other patrons orders and creates a giant delay. But instead of making appropriate changes for that or at least owning up to their delays, acknowledging we should be seated earlier than 45 minutes after our reservation time... the owner / manager was hell bent on explaining to our group of 6 how we should wait and be quiet and our expectations were just completely irrational.... nicely done! We walked out and it was the best decision of the night as we will NEVER come back and found an amazing Italian restaurant 10 minutes away with much finer food and atmosphere and with 5-star service Mundo Trattoria on Blvd St Charles. Don't waste your time with the highly inconsistent food or unreliable service of Piazza Romana... skip to Mundo Trattoria! read more

Food was fine, (but they wanted to put parmeson on my seafood) but could not get a wine list for the special selection of products they displayed in the back, rather the waiter wanter to know either a wine that I wanted (what is this 100 questions?) or for me to suggest my price range and he would tell me what he had. Well, what I wanted was dependent on what I thought might be a good deal or something I might want to try. OK, from here it turns out it was too much trouble to have a decent wine and the generic list on the table was crap. Then, after, as leaving, the head waiter stopped me to suggest I did not tip enough. I tipped 15% (very generous for having a decent meal without a wine (had a bottle beer instead, ugh)) when in fact I did tip 15% on the pretax total, but not on the total with tax in. In a word I would say this place is pretentious. They think they are something they are not. Give me a break, will never go back there, which is unfortunate for them, I like good wines and go to this area often enough to be there twice per year. If I had ordered a $60 -$80 bottle of wine they would have had 15% on that rather than a $7.00 beer (guessing what I paid for it) read more

Made reservations for 11 a week ahead for 7:30 p.m. We all arrived at the restaurant on time. (This is our first time attending this restaurant and the last). We were greeted unfriendly when we arrived by the owner or manager. Sat down at our table and waited 20 minutes without receiving any menu. When asked for menus, they gave us 2 menus for 11 people, when asked for more menus, the answer was "we have a party of 35 people and have to wait for the 35 people party to return their menus, at which time I said "we are also paying customers and would like to have menus, at which time the manager owner gave us takeout menus. It took some time to take our orders, which was after 8:00 P.M. and it took 35 minutes to get our meal, after complaining. The meal was not the best and the SERVICE UNACCEPTABLE. If this restaurant cannot accommodate more than 35 people, they should advise those who have reservations for more than 4 people, what looks like what they can only handle. I certainly do not recommend this restaurant. read more
