I felt that they listened to the type of instrument and sound I was looking for and did not try to sway me to their profit. Moreover, they take their time and do not rush you to pick something immediately. They realize its a savory process, especially if you are true music aficionados. The owner of Faust appreciates music, and keeps that integrity in their business. It is important to feel right when spending this amount of money. I started my piano journey with a digital upright Kawai; upgraded to a 2016 Estonia 168 baby grand; and finally acquired my dream piano, a 2023 Bluthner Model 6. I also took piano lessons at their school for two years. My progress was rapid, and I am looking forward to enjoying my Bluthner until my dying day. Given my long acquaintance with the owners of Allegro Piano, Ori and Rebecca Bukai, I could write a voluminous review; but to be concise, I'll recount my most memorable experiences that make me so grateful that I happened on their company given the sea of competitors in the piano business. First, Ori spent so much time explaining the factors of piano selection and listened carefully to my goals and preferences. I spent about 2 hours each time I selected a new piano, and Ori fielded many follow-up emails to finalize my purchases. Second, Allegro always gave me a great deal on my pianos. Like cars, new pianos rarely sell for their MSRP; however, the "street price" that Ori offered usually was far better than the discounts at other physical or online dealers and the guidelines in Larry Fine's Piano Buyer Book. Furthermore, Ori always gave me *full credit* without adjustment for depreciation toward upgraded purchases. Third, Allegro did an outstanding job with all my deliveries. I did one move without them and later discovered that I was overcharged more than double what Allegro would have charged. In my latest move from CT to TX, when the national mover refused to cover some damage to the lid because I could not prove at what point in the move the damage occurred, Allegro made sure that I was made whole even though the damage was definitely not their fault. For these and many other reasons, I regard Ori and Rebecca not only as trusted piano experts but also friends; and should I ever need another piano or am asked to recommend a dealer, they will always be at the top of my list.

After speaking to both Suzanne and Michael, I selected a fantastic upright for my living room, which I feel that I got at a good price. I felt as though Michael and Suzanne were there to answer any questions I had, with Suzanne even providing me her number, and was excited to make a purchase. Superb service and an amazing, over-the-top experience for me!…read more Never did I anticipate what was in store when I finally decided it was time to purchase a real piano. For over twenty years, I only used electronic, digital pianos in our home, and that seemed to be fine. Occasionally, I'd have a yearning for the real thing, but hadn't done anything about it until recently when a dear friend offered me her spinet piano. It was lovely, but I wanted more. Off to the showroom we go! When we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by Andrew, who guided us to the area where upright pianos were arranged. I thought an upright was all I needed, and after all, it wouldn't take up too much space in our already semi-crowded "living room turned music room". Shawn, the owner, joined us within a few minutes and asked questions to find out more about the sound and feel I wanted. I felt a full upright would give me the resonance and tone I wanted. As I continued playing, now trying a Yamaha, I started to realize this was not like previous experiences I've had in piano showrooms. Shawn described some of his years of experience in the industry, and it turns out that he's more than what I thought he'd be. Sure, he can sell pianos, but he does so much more. He has many years of experience as a skilled technician who loves his pianos. Furthermore, his staff learn from him and add their skillset to the mix. So, not only am I playing and determining if I like this or that upright, but I am starting to get excited about discovering much more here than I imagined! After listening to me for a bit, Shawn suggested that my level of expertise demanded more than what an upright could offer. He demonstrated the differences between the action on an upright piano versus that on a grand. I hadn't given that much thought, but the better responsiveness on a grand was readily apparent as I compared an upright and grand side-by-side. I didn't think we could fit a baby grand in our living room, but I wasn't going to let that stop me. We walked over to an area of small grands, the smallest of which was a Pearl River at a little under 5 feet. It had a lovely sound for its size, but still didn't have the low-end resonance I wanted. Then, I tried a Baldwin Model M grand, at 5'2". Mmm, I was liking this one. It was very expressive and the action exquisitely smooth and even. Finally, he introduced me to the Otto Altenburg grand, which was a little larger. It, too, had a beautiful and resonant sound. It was time to make a decision and I felt stuck. I narrowed my choices down to the Baldwin and Otto Altenburg. Shawn moved the pianos so that their keyboards faced each other with a bench separating them. I could sit and easily alternate between the two. He left us for a while, giving us the opportunity to privately discuss matters and for me to simply play. I decided the Baldwin would be the piano to welcome into our home. Shawn provided us with some easy paperwork to complete, found an agreeable time slot with the movers with whom he regularly works, and within a few days, the piano was delivered! Never have I seen such an expedient, courteous, and professional piano delivery. I can't thank Shawn's Pianos enough for the lasting joy that meeting him and his staff and this beautiful Baldwin grand will bring. It has been a month and a half and I am still playing this piano as if it just got here.

They are trustworthy, helpful, kind and the best at what they do. If you are looking to buy a piano or would like to refurbish an older piano, don't bother to look any further. They took my Baldwin Baby Grand and made it better than new. They refinished the mahogany cabinet to its original sheen and glory and replaced the tuning pins, hammers and pins. See photo below. They were not gentle or professional like other piano movers I've had, and wound up scratching my piano during the move. When I reached out about it, they suggested using a wood marker to cover up the scratch (it is a VERY visible scratch). The entire process was thoroughly unprofessional from beginning to end and I would never recommend them to anyone. Awful, awful, awful.
