Mother's Day brunch goals…read more We were braced for a 45-min wait on a holiday Sunday and got seated in 10. The place is HUGE -- a gorgeous old mansion in Roma Norte with a balcony upstairs that we got lucky to land. Service was lightning fast and our server was so fun. My husband had the chilaquiles with arrachera in salsa verde -- perfect heat, tender steak. I got the molletes, comfort food done right. We shared the red berry pancakes and oh wow. Thick, fluffy, beautiful berry sauce. New favorite. We're on a CDMX pancake mission and these set the bar. Red berry + lychee mimosas were such a treat. Every single dish was excellent. 5 stars all day.

The ribeye steak tacos were decent, but the tortilla soup was unbelievably bad. The tuna tostadas were also disappointing--the tuna did not taste fresh at all. The chicken Alfredo was another letdown. It was overloaded with shredded cheese, and there was so much cheese that I could barely see the chicken or the pasta. To make matters worse, their credit card machine was not working. Instead of paying normally, we were asked to make a deposit directly into the owner's account, which felt unprofessional and inconvenient. After this experience, I can understand why the restaurant has a 3.5-star rating. The atmosphere is pleasant, but the food quality, flavor, and overall customer experience need significant improvement.

A pleasant surprise…read more Stopped in for a quick early dinner & was thrilled with the last minute decision. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an open roof concept that made dinner on a lovely cool evening absolutely wonderful. Service was excellent as we came for a very early dinner (seem as in Mexico locals usually eat dinner after 7pm) The plátano was cooked to perfection & the mole was excellent and complimented it very well. The chicken was delicious, juice and flavorful. The mashed potatoes did lack a little flavor but were still ok. The tres leche was not enjoyable to me, was a little firm & lacked flavor and freshness. Overall I enjoyed my meal and would love to dine here again when in CDMX.

I understand it's a big party but there was 20 minutes between receiving the first entree and the last. Same for our drinks. I wish we would have been assigned 2-3 servers to manage our big party. Additionally, three of our appetizers never came and a few of our guests main entrees were also forgotten. I emailed the restaurant to confirm we weren't charged for the missing dishes and they won't respond. They were very responsive in advance of our reservation but after spending $2k+ they have vanished and will not return my emails. I know it's on us to check the receipt at the end, but it was a massive order and hard to decipher in the moment so quickest option was to just pay. The food was okay. I got the prime rib and it arrived cold and tough. The apps were all very good. I heard the chicken and rice plate and burger were great.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess and shown to our table. They have minimal English-speaking staff, but we didn't have any issues communicating. There is also patio seating as well.   Menu was split into different categories from appetizers, salads, steaks, pizza, pasta, and seafood. We were surprised at how big the portion was, plenty to share. We ordered a few items:   - NY dry aged carpaccio: This was a massive portion. Cut perfectly into thin slices. A great choice for an appetizer. - Brisket tacos (3): Comes with 3 medium size tacos. Meat was tendered. Two different sauces and with your usual toppings. - Ribeye tacos (3): Same with this, comes with 3 tacos. My favorite out of the two tacos. - Octopus on the grill: My favorite out of everything we tried. I love getting octopus when in Mexico. It was fresh and grilled perfectly. It also came with fried potatoes which we all love. - Peasant salad: A good balance to the rest of the meal. A refreshing salad with sweet tomatoes. - Grilled cod fillet: The cod fillet was just the right texture. The sweet potatoes puree gave it a nice balance.   The service was amazing. The staff helped pour our water and helped with plating our food. I really appreciate their attentiveness. Overall, this was a great experience and would highly recommend anyone to stop by for lunch/dinner if they're in the Roma Norte area.

We were told the wait would be 30mins but it was over an hour. The host was apologetic about this and tried her best to make up for it with a good table. Eventually we were seated and the menu was great. Really delicious food choices ranging from my Mexican flavors to more basic Western options. Scrambled eggs looked good, the piadina was delicious, as were the chilaquiles! The restaurant is beautiful. The service was really good all things considered. The food, overall I think would be classified as just okay. They had a good selection for drinks but I can say I just chose wrong in ordering a Bloody Mary with tequila instead of vodka. It was not that good. I had what would be considered chicken tacos. They were fine. I think my experience suffered due to being there around brunch time but not having a taste for what I consider a small menu. This restaurant is part of the hotel Casa Nuevo León 120, this being the eatery's second outpost in Mexico City since the first one opened its doors in neighboring La Roma. Breakfast is served as lighter fare or brunch style that includes fruit, coffee or tea, and pastries. The menu comprises a variation of well executed egg dishes, like the Huevos Provenzal, served on toast with seared asparagus and grilled tomato aioli, as mouthwatering as it sounds. It must also be added that the eggs in all dishes are cooked as requested. Maybe the pastries could be better, maybe the service could be more attentive, and maybe the food served a bit hotter, but it definitely is a good option to start your day now that Duo has closed in La Condesa.
