Very knowledgeable, very thorough explaining his findings, would highly recommend him.

Everything went well. Mark was there on time and incredibly thorough. It took almost 3 hours to do the whole inspection. He definitely found a lot of issues that were not visible to me. read more

Very thorough inspection. Explained all of the issues with the house and provided a detailed report. Unfortunately, we did not end up purchasing the house due to what Mark found. Would definitely recommend him and will use him again in the future. read more

Mark is a life saver. He is an absolute advocate for any home buyer. My father-in-law (owns a construction company) tagged along on the inspection and Mark really impressed him (I still can't do that). Buying a property is likely the biggest purchase most will ever make so don't gamble on a random Google search. He's your guy. Now you can buy with confidence. Thank me later. read more

Mark did a fantastic job on our home inspection in Campton Hills, IL. He was very detailed, spent a ton of time in the house explaining the issues and the report was easy to read and very thorough. He came early to the house to start on the roof before we got there and his report was sent to me on-time. Detailed, timely and accurate - excellent traits in a home inspector. Overall, I was most impressed with the quality of his service. I would highly recommend him to friends, family and anyone else. read more

Steve is very professional and prompt. He finds things during inspections that other inspectors gloss over or don't even find. His reports are very thorough and include pictures and suggestions of 'must do' or 'can wait'. I have worked with him on several homes and will always engage him before any other inspector. Appointments are kept as made (often online) and his findings often saved me money. read more

Mark is an extremely thorough, professional home inspector. His service is FANTASTIC! He is very knowledgeable and detailed. During the inspection, he was very pro-active in showing us exactly what he was finding and giving his opinion on what he felt we should ask the sellers for and what we could probably wait on or do ourselves. We received his report less than 24 hours after the inspection and it was 40+ pages long. The report is very comprehensive, even categorizing the list of suggested repairs into major and minor categories. We found it extremely helpful. Mark knows his stuff and he comes VERY highly recommended!!! read more

We were recommended to P.I. Home Inspection by our realtor, and had a good feeling as soon as we talked to Mark in booking the inspection. This is our first inspection (and first home) and we were really pleased in using Mark, he is thorough, knowledgeable, clear, and really attentive. Our inspection covered everything that was at all accessible, all outlets, switches, appliances, water, electricity, hookups, garage, etc, etc. If it could be reached with a ladder or less, it was. The really great part of the whole process was that Mark took the time to walk through the whole appointment with me and my wife, telling us what he was checking, what is good to see and what is bad. He let us know what we can do for regular maintenance, explained what was worth asking for from the seller, and what was just something we should look at taking care of after we'd been in the home a little while. It is clear that the inspection is for the buyer, not the seller or realtor, and Mark puts together a good report promptly. Within 24 hours, we had a detailed report with photos, and prioritized repairs. In addition to the generous and really valuable inspection, Mark was clear and insistent that he is happy to make recommendations for repairs, maintenance, or just to answer questions any time in the future. Really great experience. Absolutely recommended. read more

Mark was great! He responded via text lightning fast and from start (first contact) to finish (received report) was about 36 hours. Super helpful, talked me through different things he found, and even saved me from spending unnecessary money. My friend hired him for her inspection as well and raves about his work. :) You're in good hands with Mark. Wonderful service and I'll recommend him to all my friends and family. Mark is a true professional. I used him for both of my properties and can't say enough good things about him and the work that he does.

Mark S. I did read your report. I read ever single report your ever given me. Not once out of the 3 homes you inspected ever went on any roof. The more people I tell the more people say, "are you kidding me?" Im sorry, you do carry a ladder, but not one long enough to get up onto any roof. You even wrote "the crown or temination cap was not visible to inspect" because you didn't go on the roof. They are missing. You didn't go in the crawl space, you looked through the door because of the "animal" that turned you away. In my opinon I should have not paid you the full amount until you returned to check it out after it was removed, even though there wasn't a need to remove anything. This is a home I'm purchasing not a used car. We depend on people like you with all the knowledge. If you actually went in the crawl space you probably would of noticed the 3 notched floor joists under the kitchen because of the new plumbing the previous owner added. If you'd like pictures I can send them to you. The floor sags because of that, it literally flexes when people walk up there. Also the yellow extension cord that was reversed through the floor in the hallway, remember? Well you would of figure that out to because thats also down there. I'm only guessing because you did make notes of these things in the previous home inspections. You did mention the leaking skylight, not the actually roof itself just to be clear. I could go on and on... I will give you 3 stars because your report is detailed, you email it very very quickly and are always on time. I've also learned a lot of things from you. I understand that any company wouldn't like a poor review, but heres to why. Also, to email me and tell me my review was bogus and call me out on yelp also seems a little unprofessional. read more

Mark is very professional and on time. I definitely recommend using PI Home Inspection Services.

I found Mark by accident when the home inspector I originally found wasn't available. Man, am I glad for that! Mark is absolutely fantastic. He showed up early for the home inspection on a house we are purchasing (a great sign). He is extremely knowledgeable (he's been doing this for 16+ years). He's also a mold expert, which is great to have his expertise. He took a lot of pictures, took audio notes, and was meticulous in his assessment of our new home. His goal is not to make you fall in love with the house you are buying, but to make you aware of the issues so you can negotiate some of those with the sellers. He found numerous issues that we addressed with the seller, which saved us a bunch of money! His report came the next day via email and was 40+ pages. The amount of detail was amazing. He broke down the major and minor repairs, which was helpful. We now know what needs to be done in order of priority. Mark's fee was extremely reasonable, and well worth it. I HIGHLY recommend him for your home inspection/mold needs! read more

Mark was recommended to us since we lived out of state. Can't say enough good things about him. Even drove to Chicago to do an inspection for us. Great communication, available and spent time on the phone with us going over the report. We didn't end up buying that property due to issues found and we are grateful to Mark for spotting them. We will definitely use him again! We learned a lot from him. Super nice guy! read more

We just got done with a 3-hour house inspection with Mark (owner of PI Home Inspection Services) and both my husband and I were very happy with the level of service. Mark was knowledgeable, personable and thorough. Couple days later we received a detailed report with pictures that was color coded with red for items that needed immediate attention. Would definitely use Mark's services again. read more

Mark is amazing. He is thorough, professional, honest and knowledgeable. He really knows what he is doing and has a great eye for things most people would miss. If you need an inspector that knows old homes, you need Mark. We have had him do 2 separate inspections for us and I can't find one bad thing to say about him. I know there are many inspectors to choose from but you can stop looking, you found the best! read more

Mark is a professional, knowledgeable, informative, and thorough inspector. He pointed out all types of issues and recommended budgets and timelines for the major items. I highly recommend him! read more

We used PI Home Inspection based on the strong recommendation of our realtor. This is the 4th house we have purchased and have had 3 other inspections in other locations so we knew what to expect. During the inspection process we felt things were going well. Mr. Sylvester verbally pointed out issues in the home and discussed them with us. However, we were disappointed by the written report. The report was 35 pages long, but contained massive amounts of general filler information copy and pasted from the internet. Specific home information was often hard to find and without any really power behind it often ending with recommendations to get other professional evaluations or ask the seller for more information. Issues that he verbal explained as problematic were written up as minor giving us little power to address with the seller. When we had a question about the report it took multiple emails to get a response. The response when it did come was terse and dismissive. After living in the house for a month we are coming to realize that the inspection missed some major issues. This is what is most disappointing. We realize that no home is perfect, but in the past we always felt that our home inspectors had made us aware of all significant issues prior to our purchase. This time we do not feel that way. We have found ourselves saying multiple time over the last weeks, why didn't the inspector tell us about that. read more
