Something is really off around their billing. The doctors here are nice and the care received is great but trust me it's not worth the risk. The first time I visited I wasn't sent a bill I received a text saying I needed to pay immediately or my account would be sent to collections. I paid it in full. I went a second time about 6 weeks ago. I made sure they had my updated billing contact info and my new address. I did not receive a bill from them yet. I received a bill for my lab work three weeks ago and it's been paid but my bill for my visit has yet to arrive. I called the number listed on their website for billing and got placed on hold for ten minutes then sent to a voicemail. Something is off around their billing and I'm worried for when I get my bill if I get it. Don't go here it's not worth the risk of having a medical bill go to collections without notice. read more

Update on billing and payment processing for this place. NOT GOOD. I submitted my bill to my Flexible Spending Account for them to send payment. I completed the address and account number. Payment was sent. I kept getting notices that I had an outstanding balance, so I actually called. They told me it probably hadn't been posted yet and not to worry about it. Then I got ANOTHER notice saying FINAL NOTICE. I contacted my Flexible Spending company and asked for payment verification. They gave me a date and sent me a copy of the front and back of the check. I forwarded this to Physicians Immediate Care and got back a short response. Something along the lines of "we don't do business with the bank that deposited this check and you still owe us money." WTF! So I paid the correct amount, I sent it to the correct address with my name and account number on it, but I am still responsible for paying (again)! I contacted them again and repeated that I did everything possible to pay this and it's not my fault it didn't get to the correct place. I addressed it correctly. They refused to deal with it and told me it was up to me to get my money back from my FSA and they take no responsibility for the payment not going to the right spot. Very shady. Whoever manages this place needs to make some major changes in how they handle patients - customer service! I made an appt online for 6:40pm. Arrived early per their instructions. Sat here for an hour waiting. Asked receptionist what my ETA was. She said my appt had been pushed back a little to 7:43. A little?? Then another patient came in at least 20 minutes AFTER me. But had the same appointment time. And they were called back BEFORE me. Really??? When I was finally called back, the nurse that did my triage was very nice, and I actually felt bad for her because she hadn't even had dinner. It's not a good representation or experience for the nurses or the patients when the customer service is this awful. If they would just be honest and upfront, and keep the waiting patients informed, it would be a much better experience for everyone. read more

Scheduled appointment at 1:20, they pushed it up to 1:00. We weren't seen until 3:30. Receptionist told us that if my wife tests positive for influenza I will be able to get a prescription. Doctor said no when we were finally seen. Too bad that all other immediate cares are closed now! Doctor said that she would send two orders so I could get medication too and only sent one. Why take appointments if you can't commit to a reasonable time-frame? Why tell me to come in early and then delay us? Why can't a spouse of someone diagnosed with the flu get extra Tamiflu? There is no point in making an appointment because you're still gonna wait 2+ hours like everyone else. I'm not sure why this place is called immediate care when it is definitely not immediate. The order that people are seen doesn't make sense. It took a little over 3 hours from the time I checked in until I left. Do not go here unless you have HOURS to kill. The staff is nice though. For the people that don't heed my warning, this is what you should do. Don't schedule an appointment, just walk in. Check in to get on the wait list. Double check with them that you'll get a call when it's your time to be seen. Ask how long the wait is and/or how many people are in front of you. Fill out the registration paperwork on your phone. Cliff Notes: Medical: They did a culture in-office before I even saw the doctor, another during my exam with the doctor, and sent me on my way with a script (a price tag of $45 for mouthwash). Oh, yeah, OR I could take Advil. (Hah, seriously? Neither option was helpfull.) Customer service: This sealed the deal from a 3-star to a 2, because the follow-up with them was ridiculous: they called me three times (!) about labs, leading me to think there must be something wrong. When I returned the call(s), I was on hold no fewer than 12 minutes all for "It was negative." My novella: About a week ago I started having this on again/off again sore throat and noticed a swollen lump on the side of my tongue. I went in towards the tail end of the evening and was brought into a room maybe 15 minutes later. The PA who was taking my vitals and asked about my current medications. I said, "Are you ready?" (I'm on 4, plus 1 OTC mineral) and started telling her the name of the first one. "You mean you don't have a list?" was her interjection. Uh? No..no, I don't walk around with a list.. She did an exam, I pointed out the source of my mouth pain to her, then I waited for the doc. During that time another PA came in and announced he was doing a strep culture. I knew strep wasn't the issue, but I guess I'm not the doctor here.. When I saw the doc, she did an exam and did a different culture, this time swabbing the source of my pain (her opinion was I had an irritated taste bud). Totally logical. That one had to be sent to a lab, so it'd take a bit for the results. In the meantime, the doctor said I could take Advil, OR she could write me a script for a mouthwash-type solution that contained lidocaine. I opted for the script and was sent on my way. Due to the time, the pharmacy couldn't fill the script right away, so I said I'd pick it up tomorrow. They called me in the morning telling me that my (very good) insurance doesn't cover it, and it'd be $45. I passed.. Not quite sure why a doctor would prescribe something that's so costly.. (I understand insurance coverage differs, but they usually have an idea of the typical ballpark. All of my other doctors do.) Luckily the mystery lump disappeared and my symptoms resolved within a few days. They called me and left a voice message, asking me to call back because they had my lab results. Due to the craziness of life, though, I didn't call them back, plus my symptoms had resolved. They called again with the same message. And then a third time. NOW I'm concerned something sinister came up in the culture they sent out. Tonight I called back and told them I was calling for lab results. They asked my last name and told me I was being transferred to whomever is in charge of those things, and put on hold. I waited. Waited some more. You know when you've been on hold and the music stops, and the phone re-rings? Happened three times. Six minutes later someone finally answered, asking what I was calling for. ?!?? "For my lab results..I HOPE I'm talking to the right person because I've been on hold for 6 minutes. " She asks me what lab they did. "Uhh? I'm not sure, but they swabbed my mouth. But wouldn't you need my name?" Then she asks for it, so I start spelling it, nice and easy. Three letters in, she starts talking over me, repeating them. From what I heard she got 'em right, so I continue. Two more letters in, she talks over me again, so I stop. So now I dont even know where we are, and she starts repeating what she has, and it's incorrect. I start again from the beginning, niiice and eeeeeasy. She cuts me off (again) after the first three letters (again), spells out three letters (the vowel being incorrect), and hastily tells me she's putting me on hold. I waited...again. Another 6 minutes, actually. She comes back on the line and says, "It was negative." REALLY?! That's IT?? They left me THREE voice messages, put me on hold for TWELVE minutes, and for absolutely nothing. Not even counting, of course, the fact they did absolutely nothing reasonable and/or effective to treat me. I asked to speak to the office manager and am told she's left for the day, so I ask if I can be put through to her voicemail. I'm put on hold. Again. And she comes back saying the office manager doesn't have voicemail (??!), but she can call me back. *** Riiiiight... so I can get another vm, play the Hold Game again, and for what? Not worth it; NEVER AGAIN! Sure, finding an appt on Sunday is rough. However, I was lucky enough to find one open in Glendale Heights, IL. When I arrived, I waited about 10 mins to be greeted, as the front desk clerk was in the back talking away. Then she informed me that there was not a physician onsite, so the appt would be telehealth. I came in with a sore throat, dizziness, & ears hurting. How can an appt be telehealth? Why are you even open if you don't have a physician on site? I should have been notified sooner. Then she proceeds to tell me that they are only using 1 room & I would have to wait for 30 mins for the room to sterilize. Mind you, I drove 30 mins out of my way cause I really felt crappy. I expressed that I was hoping to be in & out since I really feel icky. Again, should have been notified sooner. They have a messaging system where they can text you to let you know these things; that way you can cancel then. I had already paid the copay, so there was leaving. So I sat in the lobby forever, while they chit-chatted in the back. They could have opened another room, since there was literally no one else in this place as a patient. I came in on Sunday because I had a severely bad sore throat with fatigue, body pain, and nausea. First off, the receptionist showed 0 interest in even greeting me when I walked in. Secondly, they did a strep test and it came back negative. They didnt bother testing for mono or the flu but the PA goes "Oh, you have white spots on your throat." He discharges me telling me I have "acute pharyngitis" (a bad sore throat) and gives me a prescription for ONE DOSE of a steroid. Fast forward to Monday, I'm still not feeling better, but I figured I'd let the meds do their things. Come today (Tuesday) and I cant take it anymore. I'm in TEARS crying from body pain and my throat is even MORE swollen, I cant even swallow WATER. I havent been eating and my sore throat is getting progressively worse. I go to my ACTUAL doctor (thank God for last minute visits) and she looks at my throat and goes "Oh my god. That's horrible. Your throat is COVERED in white spots. How did he let you go without antibiotics for your throat infection?! No wonder you're in so much pain!" She did a strep test AGAIN.... And guess what? POSITIVE FOR STREP. I was seen immediately by an Elite NP Josefina Pilolli. She's Outstanding. Had to visit an Immediate care today because of possible achilles tendon tear that I was extremely worried about. The possible bad news could require months of rehab and overall Hell! I was seen right away by her and she could sense that I was nervous because when she walked in the stool by the checkup table had me standing on it with a cord around my neck. She's like "Omg what's going on here are you ok?" I was like "oh oh I'm sorry this must be wrong room I'm the electrician just checking the light fixture" Then she says alright so since your here looking at the imaginary light fixture maybe I could look at your imaginary left leg for you?  Yup! She talked me off the ledge and put me at ease. On a serious note, she's extremely intelligent, thorough, informative, helpful, caring. Now even the best of the best are missing at least one of those attributes but not her. I'm almost thinking about taking up rock climbing with used rope bought on Bangladesh Ebay just to get another appointment! She'll restore your faith in all that's good in people and Medicine. I have been able to make appointments online through the link in Google Maps without any glitches or problems. I get to wait in my car till they are ready for me. While one of the times they were running about an hour behind schedule, they let me know. I appreciate being able to get tested for Covid quickly with reasonable availability (both for when we have symptoms or before my son went to summer camp) without a hassle. I have been treated respectfully by all the employees I encountered, as if it was my regular physician's office, even though it's not. And the nurse that swabbed my nose did not make it hurt, so yay! They gave the results promptly and professionally with follow up directions, just like my regular physician. Overall, I feel very comfortable returning as needed. read more

After many attempts Trying to get a covid test exam, filling out the questionaire and a time slot appears I got excited. But what I thought was a good thing finally getting a spot. I could not recommend this place for a couple of reasons. Number one even though they said it was a 40 minute wait it took over two hours before the physicians assistant PA saw me. I was never seen by a doctor. Secondly they told me I only had a back sprain after reviewing the x-rays that they took. Because of my continued pain I went to the emergency room where they did a CAT scan of my back and found two vertebrae fracture's. Emergency room said the x-rays were such poor quality they could not read them. This place completely missed diagnosed my condition Saying I merely had a back sprain. I went there for a pre-employment drug test and not only had to wait outside in the cold because they were closed during lunch 12-12:30, but then had to be pre-screened before entering the building one patient at a time. Then although I had employment paperwork they needed me to fill out their paperwork and wait an unbelievable 58 minutes for a urine test! Even though I was first in the door after lunch break. Not sure how to describe such a horrible experience. I went here due to chest congestion. They wanted to take a swab for the flu. When the girl came in with the swab she handed it to me and made me do it. She said she was afraid I would sneeze on her. I did the swab test and results came back positive for type a flu. I'm still trying to wrap my head around this girl making me administer the swab test myself. Glad it wasn't something more invasive like drawing blood. The doctor said she would call in an inhaler and Tamiflu. I went to my pharmacy and the Tamiflu had not been called in. I called their office and it was closed. I got a message that said if you have an emergency hang up and dial 911 and that's it. They do not have an on call staff, answering serviced or even a way to leave a message. This was extremely concerning to me. It is my health and they screwed up. I called them this morning and let them know what was going on. After putting me on hold for a while they came back and said that they would call it in. I will not be going back to this place. Their office is clean but that's where the good ends. It gets 3 stars because Dr. Vilbar is fantastic, listens to your concerns, pairs your medications with the prior medical history that you tell him, etc. All that good stuff! I'd take him as my regular doctor if I could. I go here when I know something is wrong and I can't see my normal doctor...or when I didn't have a regular doctor. I'm not a fan of their nursing staff who see you before the doctor does or the PA, who I've ended up seeing more than once now. :( The PA is very nice, but she doesn't listen as well as Dr. Vilbar does. I've told her I have stomach issues, then she prescribes me a super-strength dose of ibuprofen...For those who don't know, NSAIDs aren't kind to your stomach. Edit: Okay, I have to change my review to 2-stars after checking my bank account and seeing they've charged me twice for the same bill. In order to see a doctor at a Physicians Immediate Care, you need to not have a balance on your account, so I paid the balance that I received an e-mail about a few days ago. The receptionist said I was supposed to reply to the e-mail for it to charge my card. I felt too terrible to actually check the e-mail on my phone, so I just paid it the day of. Checked my bank account today and see it's charged me twice, as either there's no way to cancel the auto-charge once put into place OR they failed to cancel an auto-charge to my account. Either way, I'm now convinced the staff is incompetent and doesn't know what's in their own payment e-mails...Gotta call them in the morning to cancel the charges. read more

Do not come here unless you want to be cursed at by your physician. I waited almost 50 minutes in the room waiting for him to come in. Once he came in there was no apology and no introduction of himself. All he said to me was " So what the f*ck is going on?" For background information, I was coming in for a checkup on my wrist because I broke it a few days prior to this visit. Again, he didn't even tell me his name so I have no idea who he is. Throughout the "checkup" he proceeded to drop the f-bomb 2 more times as well as two other curse words. I told him my cast was loose and he said it was fine and just to come back in 4 weeks so they can cut it off. He also said no other follow-up is needed when the physician I saw previously told me the opposite. Now it's the next day and I was taking my sweatshirt off and my cast completely came off my arm with my sweatshirt. Now I'm no doctor but that doesn't seem "fine" to me. Now I'm in more pain than I was before this visit. To top it all off, it took me about 3 hours to speak with a manager about this. I called twice and was put on hold both times just to be told that'd the manager would give me a call soon. I understand that she is probably very busy considering the times we are in, but for something like this I would have liked to have thought she'd make this a priority because her staff should not be cursing and acting the way that this man did to a patient. Once I finally got a hold of her, she was actually very helpful and respectful and told me to come in again and she'd have a respectful female physician do another check-up for me, professionally. Although I had an okay conversation with her, I still don't feel like it was handled how it should have been. She made no official statement about how this man should not have done what he did, nor did she say that anything was going to happen to make sure this doesn't happen again. Had an appointment for a COVID-19 test and arrived 15 minutes early as instructed. Was told that they were running a little late so they apologized for the delay and said they appreciated our patience. With all the long lines at medical facilities and staffing shortages, we understand there will be delays. However, with an appointment, it was 4 hours past the appointment before getting called. it took another hour for the "rapid" test to be completed. So a total of 5 hours was spent at this location for a "rapid" test with a scheduled appointment. At no time were we told to expect this long of a delay. Contact with us while we were waiting (patiently) was minimal and estimated delays were not even close. Adding to our frustration was the fact that we were told that appointments were being taken ahead of walk ins. That was not what we were able to observe sitting right in front of the entrance for 5 hours. All apologies are meaningless when this is the unexpected horrible experience for a "rapid" test with an appointed time. Patients deserve to know how much of a delay there is so we can make the decision to wait or go elsewhere and we were deprived of that here. This disappointing treatment just adds to the level of anxiety and frustration people are subjected to seeking medical care. Try posting realistic wait times and avoid scheduling appointments that are no where near a reasonable waiting time. No need for this location to reach to me as what else could you possibly discuss? Went in with a severe back pain, they did nothing. The nurse at the facility was great, she took all of my information and got thing off on the right foot. Then after that it went downhill, I sat in the room waiting for the doctor almost 40 minutes, when she came in the room she had already made her decision on treatment before she even talked to me. When she came back into the room AFTER she saw me the first time, she asked me why on was on Plavix, which was in my record from the nurse, I told her I has a heart attack and she asked when...which you guessed it was in my record that now I could tell she NEVER looked at before coming in. I don't go to the doctor at the drop of a hat and it takes a good amount of pain to get me in there, I've never seen a doctor do so little in my life. She paid absolutely no attention to what I was telling her, and had no interest in listening to me. She could've told me to rub dirt at it and get back in there.
