Upon bringing in a patient in after calling and verifying walk ins welcomed, we were turned away! Please keep in mind we arrived 16 minutes agter the call. The receptionist that I spoke with rolled her eyes when we were told by the younger receptionist we would bot be seen, that is ridiculous. The patient that was brought in was an asthmatic. We informed them of the reason for the visit. The younger receptionist went to get a nurse that confirmed shortness of breath and chest tightness from triage. The nurse advised us that they were going to speak with the provider. 15 minutes later the younger receptionist came back again and told us we could not be seen! This was a total waste of time! From the most recent reviews it appears that this is becoming the norm and it is absolutely unacceptable! It appears that the staff was more concerned about getting home on time than patients. Being that Northwestern Medicine is a well respected establishment, something needs to change locally sooner than later. I remember the days when this immediate care rated 5 stars. It is my hope that you all get this turned around.

A very good local clinic providing very…read moreinexpensive & general healthcare.... it's not a fully equipped hospital by any means, however, their intended purpose as a clinic caters to a great need for affordable healthcare in the Aurora area. They perform fundamental healthcare, along with a few specialties beyond primary care. They will take walk-ins (or used to before Covid), but an appointment is highly desired to keep the system smooth, and organized. In light of what they are this is a really nice, clean, inexpensive clinic with extremely friendly staff. They perform thorough examinations, physicals, on-site lab work, etc... and extend the true element of sincere care for their patients who have general needs, and provide the same type of care as a primary physician would perform. For me the VNA was better than my past primary doctors who were at top healthcare organizations. Personally I feel this might be an alternative to Mercy Hospital's Life Saving Emergency Room up the road a bit... where historically people in Aurora have gone when their kids have a sore throat, cold, etc... which is ridiculous. An ER is for life-saving emergencies... which many folks don't understand. I digress... In November of 2019 I returned from China & Thailand deathly sick; possibly Covid-19 before anyone here knew about Covid. The treatment in Thailand didn't work. Upon returning to the USA my family actually thought I might not make it. Before going to an ER without health insurance I went to the VNA sicker than I have ever been, nor seen anyone in my entire lifetime. The medical staff at the VNA on Highland in Aurora prescribed a few medications that are not commonly used on general illnesses... including a left-field antibiotic I never heard of, and I was better a few days later. Between 2020 to 2024 a very big reputable healthcare system near Chicago, with their top leading physicians failed to discover an issue I have. I'm back in Aurora again for a while, and decided to try the VNA with modest hopes; however, they did save my life once... so I gave them a try. Wow! Again! Beginning ~May 2024, a wonderful doctor at this VNA has again helped, and accomplished what a giant great reputable Chicagoland healthcare system failed to do! I knew I was in good hands after my first appointment.. and as time went by it was crystal clear this doctor knows her stuff, and is giving me the best care that one could find... because it's working. I am ever so grateful for this special clinic in Aurora. I understand not everyone has the same great outcome with healthcare, and it's very frustrating, and sometimes impossible to get good affordable healthcare in America without health insurance... which is horrible when we're a great nation (supposedly). But I promise you that people are in great caring hands at this very affordable VNA Clinic in Aurora.

A digital upload system where you do your part and they claim you didn't. Quick to make a buck from insurance and act like you aren't paying (when you have proof of payments made by your insurer), deplorable lack of knowledge regarding government insurance cards and how to read them. You have other choices in town now. What could have been a stellar service is missing the mark. July 2 was treated as if I was there for a fraudulent encounter. Told my Insurance was not accepted (had been successfully billed THIRTEEN previous times!), told I didn't upload my stuff (I did 2x), and when presenting my cards, again refused. Had to have manager by phone who was useless because the staff member was not presenting the full information. Despite manager authorization staff member still would not run scans of materials. Finally persuaded to scan. materials. Staff changed gloves finally to get materials out. Then touched numerous other surfaces, then the materials then opened them with the dirty gloves. My attempts to protest the treatment, the management response, and the legit concerns were met with non-response until today when on WEEK FIFTEEN I was informed I could no longer use this facility because "I was rude (yep upset customers might be that way after you accuse them of fraud without a warrant to do so) and that I threw the completed package at the staff (umm no I actually set it in the bin, labeled samples because the staff was working with someone else)." So do yourself a favor. Their crappy system doesn't work. Rocket testing is not defined by a 23-minute encounter where you have to plead your innocence with an uneducated person and not worth the distress of finding out next week too late to get your weekly test and keep your job that they not only will not apologize, they have vindictively terminated the service. Also...I had an appt today--no one canceled and no one was there when I arrived--had to wait an additional 15 minutes to be told I was refused service. SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND INAPPROPRIATE!
