Too lazy to pull my file from former visits and didn't want to work on just the area I was having extreme pain with today. he's a "my way or the Highway" short guy with a tall attitude. someone needs to send him to a customer service seminar. So when I was referred to Therapy South for physical therapy for a new set of issues, I had little hope for any success. I WAS SO WRONG. I was assigned to Laura Richardson who has helped me so much that I feel I owe her my life. At Therapy South, everyone is seen EVERY by a physical therapist, not just an assistant. At the location off of Clairmont Avenue, Laura and Emily are both amazing dry needling practitioners. They spend one on one time with you at the table after exercises, guided by them but also with help from their wonderful floor staff. For my injuries, I received soft tissue massages, dry needling, heat ultrasounds, and of course ice and the TENS unit. When you "graduate" from physical therapy, you are allowed to go back and come in for quick appointments just for dry needling. Dry needling sounds horrible, but for me, it has been a miracle treatment to help decrease pain related to my muscle tightness, pain, and/or spasms, TMJ, neck pain, migraines, and cerviogenic headaches. When you walk in, Pam greets you as if you are family. Laura always remembers exactly what I need help with. Emily has such fun energy and has advanced training in TMJ needling. I have never had Leslie for my therapist, but my husband did, and he found her so helpful. The stretches and exercises she showed him have helped him so much he doesn't have to go back. I cannot say enough good things about this practice. Go now! You won't be sorry.

We found out about Childs Play and Jenny went above and beyond to get our daughter in asap and since then, shes gotten more help and shown more progress than anywhere else we've taken her. She has select mutism and I was shocked that after the first visit she began communicating. Larkin puts her at ease and isn't threatening or intimidating. She's very gentle and patient with our daughter and the hour drive to Birmingham is worth it. The facility is bright and engaging, each room is set up with children in mind. Every therapist and front staff have been welcoming and personable. Talking to a Jenny is like talking to a family member! I recommend that everyone try Childs Play if you want your child to tecieve the highest quality care. They take our insurance and billing ihas been easy and uncomplicated. Thank you Childs Play for helping our daughter more so than anyone else in the last 4 yesrs we are indebted to you!

He saw I was pre-diabetic and asked when my next diabetes test was because the Cortizone shot would produce a sugar spike. He even told me that a bone that I broken 2 years ago had healed. He was also a good communicator, showed compassion, calm demeanor. He treated me like a person and when he injected my hips, I felt almost nothing. All other bursa hip injections that I have had have hurt immensely (APP, UAB higlands ground floor). Either medication has changed since then or he is a highly skilled Doctor who can inject without even hurting you. Amazing! I would have liked the receptionist to be much more polite and speak more clearly. She seemed impatient. I don't think it was because the practice was busy, when I got there an hour later it was empty, but who knows. The waiting room was comfortable, clean, cool with cold water bottles to drink! The trainers at her high school recommended an x-ray so we brought her here. Located in the relatively new and very nice and eclectic "Brocks Gap", OS1 is in between a ballet studio and Moe's BBQ. Also in the same strip are The Trak Shak, Whole Scoop Ice Cream Shop, Santos Coffee and Tre Luna Bar & Kitchen. A very small front door leads to a modest and simple waiting room with a complimentary Keurig and canned sodas. There's a small counter with a receptionist. OS1 calls themselves a Sports Injury Clinic and indeed they are. They have trained sports medicine specialists on site. They have convenient hours closing as late as 7. They claim to be less expensive than the ER with decreased wait times. Finally, they can take X-rays and have MRI equipment on-site! We arrived with our injured daughter about 40 minutes before closing. They normally don't see new appointments past 6, but we were greeted with a friendly face and after checking w/ the medical staff, they immediately took Sarah "to the back" while Tammy filled out the paperwork. In about 10 minutes, we were back in the exam room where Dr. Beidleman was already examining her ankle. From start to finish, we were walking out of OS1 in about 30 minutes. Dr. Beidleman was kind, sincere, sympathetic and most of all professional. His nurse who came in to help show Sarah how to use her fancy boot was also fantastic. Everyone who was there was extremely friendly to the point that it kind of creeped me out... in a good way! So having said all that, I need to add that at 7pm, the NCAA National Championship game Georgia vs Alabama was going to be broadcasted and their entire staff might have been trying to get us out as quickly as possible. Also, since it was the last hour before close, there wasn't any other patient there so we were their center of attention. Would our experience be any different if the NC game wasn't coming on at 7 or if we were there in the middle of the day with 5 other patients?!? I don't know. But I do know that this experience was exceptional and we will be returning. In fact, we have a followup appointment in a week. I'll write an update...
