I hope they don't have these medical assistants completing tasks that require common sense, like relaying important test results. I know practices are trying to increase profits, especially those practices that are owned by private equity (which this place may be--IDK). But please consider your patients. Don't run a competent practice into the ground by having these assistants do what medical professionals should be doing. When I finally got in, FNP Hemmen at ARC Far West was rude, argumentative, says one thing at one visit and denies ever saying it on the second visit (should not have gone back for a second visit, but definitely won't be back for a third), refers you out for literally everything (including all the things my other PCPs have done at my visits with them), and is not afraid to let you know that she does NOT have time for your concerns at her visit, even when there's an empty lobby. The bedside manner was that of a hungry grizzly bear with a thorn in each paw. I will give kudos to the nurse or MA that rooms you and gets your vitals. She was kind both times, even when having to deal with that horrendous provider all day. I can find friendlier, more thorough care elsewhere and will NOT be going back. What a terrible experience -- both times.

One Medical is so amazing. Yes, you pay a membership fee, but then, YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE A DOCTOR. Like, the day you need to. Or, you do a video chat, or send your doctor a message that they actually respond to in a timely manner. The app is also super helpful and efficienct. They have this great feature that you can get immediate help for certain things like colds, yeast infections, or ordering a lab test. You fill out the information in the app, and someone gets back to you right away, putting in the lab visit or sending the rx to your pharmacy. I really don't think I have ever had medical access that is responsive and available when I need it. Their lab is open for drop ins throughout the day, and I have never waited more than 15 minutes to be seen. It is just really excellent service. I hope it stays this way!

I was overdue for my annual and, like any normal human being, wasn't looking forward to it. A good friend recommended her with a glowing review. My intention was to call the office, just to ask if she was accepting new patients (she only accepts 600-800 so I figured my chances of getting in were slim). Much to my surprise, Dr. Sorensen was the one to answer the phone! That impressed me enough that I scheduled an appointment for the next week. My first impression of Dr. Sorensen was excellent, and things only got better from there. She literally does everything - she is a one-woman staff, which means she does everything from checking your vitals to dealing with insurance. This approach means that you get to spend more time with her, which means that you feel like anything but just another patient. She also takes a conservative approach to medicine, so when I told her about my occasional anxiety, she recommended things like yoga instead of jumping to more invasive/expensive treatments. Best part of my experience with her? I ended up having a bit of follow-up work the next day, and was obviously concerned about the results. She got back to me the next morning to let me know all was OK and thoroughly explain everything. And the day after that, I got my pap results back. That's right...TWO DAYS after my appointment I got my pap results! I'm used to waiting a minimum of two weeks. She called as soon as she got the results because she didn't want me to worry longer than I needed to...wow. If you are looking for a doctor who uses modern technology (online scheduling, mostly paperless, etc.) but won't provide you with the typical, cold doctor's experience, I strongly recommend Dr. Sorensen.
