Absolutely Ace Service from Samsung. 3/10/12…read moreAbout a week ago the RCD tripped on the fuse box. After a process of elimination it turned out to be the American style fridge/freezer (RS21DCNS) 10 or 11 years old. I did the usual and looked up things on the Internet, and tried various things. The one problem I had a few years ago was that the fridge iced up at the back panel inside the fridge, and stopped a fan moving. Melting the ice solved the problem, but I lost a charcoal odour tablet in the process, but it got working again, but that time it did not trip the RCD. I disconnect all I could see, but it still tripped. I found a forum which offered various options, but unless you knew what they were talking about then you stood no chance. In the forum was the telephone number for Samsung Custoer Services. I even went to the site and thought I had found the answe, but the advice was to ring the customer services number. I was then working out the threshhold for the cost of repair against the price of a replacement. I spoke with customer services, and they took down my details and then said that they would send out an engineer (free of charge). FREE OF CHARGE!!!!! I thought yes they would assess then I'd be hit with the bill. Anyway they said I would be contacted by their service centre, and gave me a reference number. Less than an hour later I had a text message from the service centre giving me their reference number. The next day i received a call, and I arranged the visit for my convenience for after 13:00. I then received a confirmation text message. The day before the visit I had another text to ensure it was still convenient for me. The engineer arrived at 13:30. He replaced: HV Kit Evap Cover Sensor Drain Heater Defrost Heater Water Tank (the cause of the leak) Thermo Fuse I was still waiting for the bill. NO BILL!!!! The water tank must have damaged when it had frozen the first time. He even replaced all of the cables associated with the water intake. He left at about 15:00. The next day I received a text confirming that everything had been done, and that I would receive a call for a customer satisfaction survey. How can you fault that service?

After 3 repairs it still wasn't fixed, at 11 months old I decided to lodge a complaint about the product/service, after being promised my product had 3 years warranty in writing. My complaint wasn't escalated as Samsung don't have a complaints procedure!! I spent hours on the phone and after weeks am told my faulty product is now out of warranty and the 3 year warranty I was promised is incorrect. I'm left with a faulty laptop and nearly 1k out of pocket. If you want any sort of good after-care please avoid Samsung.

The unit is medium in size and is quite well stocked up on components as well as part build and fully built desktops as well as laptops. They also have a website where many people order from then collect in store to save on the postage. The staff are quite technically adept and will answer most questions without any problems. Prices in the unit are about average and can be cheaper if u order online from their website. This is probably one of the better computer outlets located in South Shields.

I purchased a PlayStation and controller from Geekys.co.uk a little over a year ago. Within six…read moremonths, the controller developed faults and was sent back for repair under warranty. Unfortunately, the same issue occurred again shortly after the initial repair. Rather than properly repairing or replacing the controller, Geekys sent a visibly used and damaged unit -- with misaligned casing, a faded serial sticker, and clear signs of water damage. I contacted them immediately and asked for a replacement and a pre-paid return label. It took 17 days and multiple follow-ups just to get the return label -- which then failed at the Post Office due to an invalid barcode. It was delivered and signed for over 11 days ago, yet I've received no replacement, no communication, and no updates since -- despite multiple follow-up emails and proof of delivery. This ongoing issue has left my 9-year-old son without a working controller and me with no support or resolution. I cannot recommend Geekys based on my experience. They've failed to honour their warranty, offered poor communication, and sent out substandard products. Buyers beware.
