The theaters themselves are clean and spacious though the seats can be uncomfortable and aren't adjustable. Another perk to the particular theater is that you have several dining options in the theater as well as outside the theater in Patriot Place. This theater also has a mini food court where you can eat before a movie and a small banquet room for birthday parties. The staff I interacted with at this location were pleasant and professional. I would definitely recommend this Showcase if you are in a touristy type of mood.

That kid ruined my family's viewing of Spider-Man this weekend and I got no apologies, only excuses from the woman at the desk who obviously couldn't care less. I didn't expect a refund when I chose to stay for the full movie. But some empathy and a statement that they'd try to do better next time would have been nice. Better yet, they could have been actually patrolling the movie regularly. When I used to work at a theater we did it every 30 minutes and removed disruptive guests, including those with small children. If you attend a movie here and have disruptive people in your show, do yourself a favor and get a refund, leave, and try another day. You'll get no help, or even understanding, from the staff.

I was so excited to have been able to secure tickets to the advance screening to see Wicked and it was my first time at Avon Cinema. Avon Cinema is a historic movie theatre located on Thayer Street since 1938. The movie theater specializes in the exhibition of films from foreign, independent and documentary films. There is only 1 screen and more/less 460 seats. Staff were very friendly and welcoming us to the cinema. Wicked was an awesome movie and I highly recommend everyone to check it out! Avon Cinema is a beautiful authentic cinema, but the seat I was in was a bit uncomfortable and missing cushion.
