Too many people smoke weed and people don't shut their lights off. Besides that we love coming and bringing the kids but it's just too much.

I had a really great time here last night! I love that they play old movies. We did a Jurassic Park/jaws mix! Amazing. We didn't make it to the second movie because we are elderly now! We loved the beer garden! No other drive in in the area has that. It was great to grab our food (via mobile order so we could skip the lines-great option!) and head over the sit on the tables in the beer garden. Lady there working was wicked nice and funny. I'm a little confused by the people who say the food is overpriced And bad, not sure what they were expecting or why they had high expectations... it's still just a movie theater...not fine dinning. Prices were what we expected, popcorn maybe just $2 too much. But food wise it was exactly what we wanted, we were expecting fast food quality and were actually excited for that little cheat day! Two things I didn't love- 1)movie starts at 8:45 but really, 15 minutes of local commercial starts at 8:45 and movie at 9. I did not like this, 15 minutes straight of commercials can be torturous and the other drive in in Woonsocket does not do that. I know you need ad money to keep the place running but there needs to be like a 5 slot limit. 2)it's never happened to me before but my battery died! I loved that they had a radio for my to rent which I had NO problem paying for, but I didn't love that to get a jump they wanted $5. Come on, I just spent $30 to come plus $30 on food and beer and this is kinda an unexpected emergency you could be just gracious and have the jump as a curtesy. Overall I had a blast and this will be our go to drive thru from now on but I will def rent the radio instead of risking having to Pay for a jump.

First time at a drive in!! The movie and atmosphere was awesome!! That's where the whimsy stops for me. The food that my bf and I paid OVER $40 FOR WAS DISGUSTING AND INEDIBLE!!!! I'm all for helping out a struggling teen working at the concession stand and that's why we didn't bring food in! BIGGGGGG MISTAKE!!!! BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AND DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! If you want people to support and buy food there at least make sure its EDIBLE!!! We threw almost EVERYTHING OUT after one bite! The ONLY good thing was the corn dog that I had to wait over 10 min for.

Itmay be weird to give a drive-in five stars but the entire place is maintained very well, clean and a friendly staff. Be sure to get there at least an hour before the movie or you may have of you off to the side which is not preferred.

Always a fun night out. Arrive early to get parked & situated before it gets too crowded (tight spots with lots of kids). They have fun theme nights with old school movies. Love the beer garden with fire pits. Wish they had better ice cream (only chocolate & vanilla soft serve).

Not many drive-ins left these days, so although it is a bit of a hike to get here from the city, it is pretty cool that it is still around. For me its all about the nostalgia. 80's kid that grew up going to the drive-in with my family in my hometown. Couldn't pass up an opportunity to check it out - the lineup was Grease, Dirty Dancing, Jaws and Back to the Future. Some of our favorite classics! Is this place top notch with amazing food? No. Does it get the job done in the sense that it provides a fun, old school style night out? Yes. Temper your expectations accordingly. That being said, it is kind of dumpy in some aspects which could be easily and cheaply cleaned up. Snack bar has a decent variety but looked dirty and rough around the edges. Nice that they have an ice cream place and beer garden is a big perk too! We really only ate popcorn, which was ok (extremely salty) but the other food looked pretty generic and unimpressive. Seems weird given that it is owned by the Andelman Bros whose entire existence and local notoriety is based on the local food scene/restaurant reviews. Would expect better quality. Probably wouldn't bother with anything other than popcorn, candy, ice cream and maybe a beer. Skip the other options and just eat dinner at home before you go. Nice that they offer to rent you a radio if you don't want to roll the dice with your car battery. Bathrooms need to be cleaned up. Movie started at 8:00 with 15 minutes of previews/ads, so it was really 8:15. Kind of late, especially if you're sticking around for the second show. We fell asleep during the second show which eventually ended at midnight and we got home at 1:00am. Late night if you're going with kids. They should consider moving start times up just a bit if it is dark enough. In terms of parking logistics, there seemed to be enough space, with a few folks sitting in chairs outside their car but majority stayed in their car. Most pickups/SUVs opted for backwards parking with their tailgate open, seats down with blankets and pillows. We attempted to keep ours open but bugs were a bit of a problem. Moths the size of small birds made their way in along with some mosquitos, so be prepared. I understand it is a seasonal business that they probably don't want to throw a ton of money into, but a little effort to clean it up a bit would go a long way here. For us, it will serve its purpose as a place to pop in for a throwback movie night experience maybe once every few years. Hope it sticks around!

Good movie, terrible service and experience.

What was once a go to and great drive in theater has truly gone down the gutter. Projector was so dull and we could not even see what was going on in the movie on screen #1. If you are making thousands on the weekends...replace the projector or at least the bulb!!! The screen 2 movie was crystal clear meanwhile Shang-Chi and Free Guy was an absolute mess and unwatchable. Definitely do not recommend going here for any movie premiere as you will get a terrible experience. The sound was very distorted at higher pitches for more than half the movie. Too many ads and truly just not good for the price. I will take my money and go to an IMAX Theater before ever returning here again.

Ask the Community - Mendon Drive-In

Does anyone know how strict they are with bringing your own food? Or how strict they are about bringing coolers? Will they look in your car when you are coming in, or will employees be walking around and ask you to leave if they see a cooler?

No one asked or checked about food or drink. They hand you the rules and a trash bag when you pay. Other than that I didn't encounter employees in the parking lot. We had drinks and food in the minivan as we just did a day trip to the zoo. We… Read more

At a time when most Drive-Ins were closing down, the Mendon Drive-In added a second screen, which was a great idea.

Then you have to drive at a tilt and try to figure out which of the 3 crooked hill screens all facing each other is yours, off-roading over apocalyptic concrete to find a reasonable view/angle. The kids working try to tell you where to park -- there were 4 other cars in the back row at our screen, and he told us to park next to them. Ummm, why should early arrivers get the worst spot? We abided at first, but we were at such an angle left-to-right, we moved more to the left, where the incline of the drive-in mountain still existed, but at least the slope was straighter up-and-down. (tbh, my back still hurts from the incline our car was at.) The bathroom toilets and floors are literally covered in feces. You could hear the audio from both other movies loud and clear during your movie. They don't show anything on-screen before the movie starts so you can make sure you have the station tuned in right, so if you have an old-school radio, good luck finding the station in the first 5 minutes of dialogue. There are no clear roads, so leaving in the dark weaving between people parked EVERYWHERE, going up and down the most awkward cement, is honestly very scary. This place was such a dump. And for them to charge $33 per car for the garbage amenities is absolutely WILD! Do yourself a favor and avoid.

We've been coming to the Topsfield Drive-in for the past couple of weeks now, and it's been a great option for going out. There are concession stands set up, masks are required when you are outside your vehicle. It's been nice to go out for a movie. This week was Beetlejuice. For some reason I'm watching it now, and it's a really weird plot line for a movie, but I remember not questioning it as a kid. I remember the gags and the running jokes with Delia's sculptures, Barbara having a literal zipper on her mouth. Holy crap that is young Alec Baldwin and I didn't recognize him. Beetlejuice needs to marry Lydia, an adolescent for whatever reason? It just struck me last night that this movie probably wouldn't be made in today's day and age. I still love it though, however I'm starting to notice that I question more things as I get older. So, last week was actually Jumanji: The Next Level. So it's nice because there is a nice spread of movies to watch. The concession stand is fairgrounds prices, which is okay but who can be mad over $7 deep fried oreos, they're delicious and where else you gonna get this? They do offer radios for rent at $5 a pop, or to jump your car for $5 if your car dies while listening to the radio for the movie. We've run off the battery for a movie and have been fine. I would caution not to rely on your battery unless it was replaced recently, and just buy a cheap radio to watch the film.
