I've been going to this place for a couple of months after trying out to Tempe Camera. I love this shop so much more! The ladies up front are always so nice and kind and will help you with any questions you have. I come here to get my photos developed and they're always on time. The prints are fantastic! From the moment we walked in, we were treated so well. They explained everything in detail and were so helpful.

In early March I was in Phoenix Photo Lab and inquired if they would assist me with printing thousands of images I saved from Instagram for a gift. After a lot of back and forth and confusion on my end I was told by Cusi that she and Nick would not help me because they were uncomfortable printing images I saved from Instagram. Cusi sent me countless links on copyright laws and finally I gave up. Before she officially refused to help me mentioned being able to order lustre paper with adhesive backing. I emailed Cusi on 4/18 and asked her if she could please tell me the name of the paper. I got no response, so I called PPL about 30 minutes ago to ask her over the phone. Another girl working answered and said she would be back momentarily. Cusi was the one who returned and she started screaming at me, saying how she went above and beyond to help me and how she was met with nothing but rudeness. She wouldn't let me get a word in, just kept screaming/yelling, said how she was up to her eyeballs and how she was just DONE and I need help. As in mental help. And then Cusi hung up on me. In March I was in to pick up some other photos I had them print and Cusi seemed annoyed/frazzled in a hurry to get myself and everyone else out of there because they were having a birthday party for someone there. The quality of the photos I've picked up have been excellent. They've had to reprint images a few times for me because their process for uploading images online is a little confusing and part of the images have gotten cut off, but I've paid for most of the reprints as that's the right thing to do. I'm appalled with the way Cusi spoke to me over the phone today, as she wouldn't even allow me to get a word in. I asked my roommate if I was being rude and she said no, that I was just trying to speak and I wasn't given the courtesy of the chance to do that. The quality of their photos are great but their customer service matches some of the reviews left in earlier years. Cusi had the audacity to tell me that I smile sweetly but it's just an act. I think she's confused and was speaking about herself. While I do appreciate the time Cusi spent emailing back and forth with me before shooting me down completely - what I asked for wasn't a crime and I truly feel like she/they didn't want to help because yes it's an intense/extensive project and she /PPL doesn't have time to be bothered. Be kinder, Cusi. It'll get you a lot farther in life. read more

Been here a couple times already, no issues with the staff and my orders are usually ready within 2-4 days. I mostly use a point & shoot 35mm camera and after getting my developed film, the results are so good! It costs me about $23 to have digital and prints (4x6). read more

I had a great first experience here. I dropped my roll of film off here for scans and prints on Saturday morning. It was $20 and the scans were available on Monday. Prints were available for pickup on Tuesday. They were very, very friendly. I just had a terrible experience at Wilson Camera where they charged me $50 for the same thing and it took over a week. Went in to have my wedding reception photos developed and was very pleased with the customer service and the digital product I received. Photos were delivered to my email within a few days of drop off via an easy to use Wetransfer cite and I was able to pick up my negatives the following week on my schedule. DO NOT COME HERE. Take your money elsewhere. I have never gotten worse customer service from a business before. After buying the full package (prints and digitals) for 2 disposable cameras, they had gotten my email wrong twice (2nd time still happened after I had called to fix the email issue that they promised was resolved), conveniently "lost" my prints , and let me stand in their shop for 30 minutes while they scrambled to look for them after I waited longer than a week without even a single call or email letting me know that they were available for pickup, and finally after driving back and forth 3 separate times started to make excuses and blamed me for their mistake. Not once was I given any sort of acknowledgement of their error or offered any sort of compensation for my wasted time. I will never spend my money here again and you shouldn't either. read more

I first contacted Phoenix Photo Lab around the beginning of the new year to have some wedding photos printed. Deter, the manager told me they were still playing catch up from Christmas and that he should be able to work with me in about two weeks. So I went in two weeks later and started the process to getting my photos printed. I needed a big 16x24 print, and almost 40, 8x10s. I also needed 2, 11x14s (I believe that was the size..)..I told them I would need the photos no later than Feb. 16th, since I was traveling home and wanted to give them to my family as gifts..No problem I was told. I went to pic my photos up on Feb 10th since they were all ready. The big 16x24 print had some type of substance spilled on it, leaving a few crusty white spots on the bottom of the photo...and 7 of the 8x10s had streaks on the photos...I wondered to myself if anyone had checked these photos before they were deemed "ready for pickup"... Deter told me he could fix these before I went out of town. I told him I would be back on the 16th. When I returned on the 16th I just knew my photos would be without flaw...Since this is now my third trip to this store...........Two of the photos still had streaks on them! Im now frustrated beyond belief and have lost faith in this company...Is anyone actually looking at these photos when they're printed?! I told Deter I needed my photos now and couldn't wait any longer, as I was leaving to go out of town the next day....I asked if he could fix them now, and he said he could only fix one of them right then and there...He said he could mail the other one the next day to where I needed him to send it. Frustrated and tired of dealing with them I said fine. Thankfully the photo arrived on time. Everyone was nice enough, but I probably won't do business with them anymore. I spent weeks comparing printers both in the area and online and ultimately decided upon Phoenix Photo to print for my first photo exhibition - a whopping 48 pieces between my co-conspirator and I. We were impressed with both the pricing and the variety of printing and mounting options that Phoenix Photo offered. The staff was incredibly helpful (see: patient) considering I've never done any sort of printing before. The quality of our prints, and the museum mounts, is top-notch. As a large-format photographer and general control-freak, I really was very impressed by both the service here and the final output. Wow. I brought in two items for print and one was to be printed to a larger scale and they both turned out great, lots of options for printing, paper type, finishes, and mounting applications. They also do a lot of analog film processing, which I did not have done, but think is cool as a speciality business they are able to do and process a wide range of needs for artists, designers, and casual customers such as myself. The staff members were super friendly and generally quite helpful, especially for someone like me who doesn't necessarily know what he's looking for or looking at. A LOT of push back for a simple request. This place was not interested in my business and it shows. I tried to request an image be scanned onto a canvas in a larger size. The amount of nuances in my terminology and their unwillingness to understand what I mean was incredibly frustrating. Be careful, their online says they offer these types of services but in reality if it's based on who you work with and if they want to work or not. A complete waste of time to drive down AFTER speaking with someone on the phone who claims they do offer these services, just to be told you should go somewhere else for these "services" we offer. I am not really sure what they do there if scanning an image onto a canvas is too much for them to process. read more

I don't know if the people who work here take pleasure in alienating people, but they sure do it well. I made the mistake of considering this place for printing needs, I called them up inquiring about their specialized printing on canvas and such. The manager DIETER answered the phone and was very short, his answers were robotic "yes." "no." "I don't know." Okay, maybe not everyone has personality, but my biggest issue was when I asked him what kind of canvas is used, i.e. what is the weight of the canvas? Is it light or heavy? Or is it a polyester type canvas? This is important to know, it concerns quality and final results, what was his answer? "ugh, I don't know, okay" "I don't know okay?" That's your answer? You own a print shop, you offer CANVAS PRINTING on your website, you leave no information on your website about canvas printing, no pricing list on your website, customers have no choice but to CALL you to get INFO and when they do ask you, your answer is "umm idk"? This isn't 1998, if your website doesn't have the information I need, you need to update it, don't force people to call a rude worker if they don't have to. You call yourself a full service specialty print shop, you advertise everything under the sun, yet when someone contacts you, you not only alienate them but you don't know what you offer. Wow, give this guy a key to the city and a medal, he is just fantastic...pfft. So what's the issue besides Mr. congeniality on the phone? Prices. Insane prices. If you have a big open budget and money isn't an option, then go nuts. $100 plus tax for a basic 16x20 canvas print on WHO KNOWS what quality of canvas? That is just impractical. There are a hundred canvas printing sites out there that will do it for less than half of that. I was looking around for a local business to support, but after seeing these prices and hearing such disregard for a customer's needs...I won't do it. I know it's rough that online businesses can bust small businesses on price, but you have to be more competitive, you have to do something to compete creatively. You have to get locals to actually work with you, not push them away to internet land with prices that are just exorbitant and an attitude that is just pathetic. Seriously what young photographer or college kid can afford 500 dollars for just a few basic canvas prints? To make an actual profit, that college kid would have to charge well over 200 dollars for one print, and in today's market that is unlikely to sell, they will be scoffed at. Rude, ridiculous, lazy service and high prices not in touch with the modern market...that's all there is to say about this place. Skip it and keep your self respect. Whoever this DIETER guy is needs a few lessons in human interaction and business, actually knowing what products you sell is kind of important, and telling a potential customer "ugh, I don't know okay" isn't exactly they way to make money. 16 year old kids who work at Wendy's do a better job than this. read more

If you are a professional.. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. Absolutely appalled by this place. I am a professional photographer and have my work published and displayed internationally and I was treated so poorly there by Mike. He talked down to me as if I was a new photographer! I had originally gone there for some prints and it felt as if he had it out for me. He color corrected my work without permission and then when I pointed out something he was doing in photoshop he asserted to me in a condescending way that he "has been doing this for over 20 years". Furthermore, he had no idea what type of inks they had for printing and they also didn't have the papers I wanted so I went somewhere else. THE BEST part of all of this is he actually called me today and asked if was going to be sending them files to print and I politely said that I would be using another lab because they had the inks and papers I needed for my exhibition. Instead of responding kindly he told me that I handled everything unprofessionally and then sarcastically thanked me for my business. I can't believe that I experienced all of this.
