for my birthday I went with 2 friends to shoot some guns, last year we had went all for the first time to a different range that was alright, but pricey. at pheonix everyone was super nice, understanding, and actually cared about what they were doing. We had Michael as our range officer he was a great help the entire time, not just showing basic safety, but actively showing us and critiquing us on what we could do better. the price was great for the amount of guns and ammo we shot. looking forward to going back again and trying more of the selection! read more

I just wanted to comment on the great customer service we experienced at the Phoenix Range & Gun Shop. First we had a knowledgeable & friendly young man help us renew our associate memberships. He was helpful & fun to deal with! Then, we went down to the gun shop. I wanted to show my wife a smaller type pistol, which they had in the store! While we were looking at the first pistol, the young man behind the counter showed us an even smaller, as in better size pistol, that we didn't even know existed! That young man was very knowledgeable, friendly & courteous! A pleasure dealing with you Matthew!! I've been coming to the Phoenix range for over 35 years. I have met & dealt with the various staff over the years, and still easily rate the Phoenix Range & Gun Shop a solid 5 stars! I'm grateful to have Phoenix Range in the city! I've taken the FAC course here, sighted in firearms, bought ammo, guns, t-shirts, & gear!! They provide different memberships, and even make it possible to have a range membership that makes owning your restricted firearms all legal like, for quite cheap! Made advanced arrangements with Leonard , Phoenix owner, to provide a range officer for my good friend Jeff. Jeff is in his 50s and is the victim of strokes since his 20s. His left side is paralyzed but his right side is pretty much functional. He has been in a wheel chair for about 10 years. He is blessed with an amazing guardian and terrific friend who ensures he is well looked after. Jeff is an intelligent, fun loving guy who is great to be around. When we arrived at Phoenix with Jeff he was looked after by Leonard. I was there to watch and my hat goes off to Leonard for ensuring that Jeff had the time of his life shooting a hand gun and carbine. It was a treat to watch how well Leonard connected with Jeff and the great time they had. It could not have been any better. Amazing. read more

Took my son for our first time at an indoor range. The staff where amazing to work with. It was my sons first time shooting handguns and they where very helpful in picking different handguns to try and offering advice. Highly recommend visiting and doing some shooting here. Perfect for beginner's and shooting enthusiasts Inside there's a lot of air soft and real guns for sale. In the upper floor you'll see the range. For 60 bucks I was able to try Glock, Beretta and an assault rifle that I forgot the name. The Instructor is informative and helpful. I will definitely go back to be comfortable with the sport. Terrible for rifles there was a clearly written rules sheet for the rifle range that covered many standard rules and safety for gun use. after i had paid i was told that the hundreds of rounds i brought in were not range approved and i could buy their ammo for a "discounted rate". also i was told of several other unwritten rules as i started shooting. Pros: This is the best place in the city to practice target shooting. This is also the best place to learn about how to use firearms, especially if you are completely new to it. You can walk in at any time and one of the instructors will help you select a handgun and show you how to fire it at a target. Phoenix also offers firearms training courses and PAL certification in both long guns and handguns that gives you the necessary license to legally own a firearm in Canada. It's indoor range is open year round and on weekends. Cons:The prices for everything here are quite expensive compared to other firearms stores. And their selection of long barreled firearms leaves a lot to be desired. Bottom line: Phoenix is a great practice and learn about firearms and marksmanship, but do your wallet a favour and do your actual firearms, ammo, etc. elsewhere in the city. read more

Staff are discourteous and think they are hot stuff because they work at the better of the 2 crappy indoor gun ranges in Edmonton. It makes me sad that I have to be a member here... DO NOT go to this place... I went to this business to test a new deer rifle that I had just bought and I was treated with complete disrespect by the employees. I'm not sure what their problem was but I have never experienced any thing like it before. They were completely unprofessional. needless to say I will never return to this business. So if you need to test out a gun that you have just purchased do yourself a big favour and stay far away from Phoenix Indoor Gun Range.
