Taking the bus is...interesting because you are able to witness a congregation of all sorts of colorful characters. This greyhound station has a few vending machines, restrooms, and seating readily available. There are taxis waiting (um lyft? Uber?) which is reminiscent of a time before smart phone technology. The customer service is... poor on a good day, but hey you didn't want to spend the money to fly so it is what it is. I've had multiple issues at this location. They are very slow to help anybody so there's no discrimination there. If I could sum up my entire experience in one sentence it would be "you get what you pay for; take the good with the bad." Ridiculous. and Been here for 5 hours and cant get a straight answer on why I was unable to board the bus to my destination. Can I give zero stars? Booked a short trip several weeks in advance because it was cheap and I thought I could leave at midnight and wake up there without driving myself. After waiting over an hour past the time the bus was supposed to leave, several ghettos jumped the line and were boarded first. Then, the bus was full and all other buses leaving in 8 hours were sold out. I was denied a refund because I paid cash. Guy at the desk said "We are still offering you the service. A little befor Halfway to my destination the bus air conditioning broke. In the middle of Arizona when it was over 100 degrees out. The bus turned around and went all the way back. Now I sit in the terminal that I started in at the time that I should have already arrived. When we got back we got no compensation. Not even a sorry. Even during times were the bus isnt breaking down which I've heard it does obtain most of the power outlets in the bus dont work. And the wifi only allows you to go onto the buses website. Worst experience I ever had to deal with over the phone. Agents were not any help except to constantly raise the price of the original price of the automated teller. They refused to honor the price even though I had screenshots of the transactions. Several times I asked them how can I not be found in the system of reservations but they could place a soft authorization on my credit card. Offered 3-4 times to send my screenshots but was ignored and turned over to customer service which offered the exact same answers. I am beyond angry and upset with Greyhound Busline. I took ONE bus yesterday from LA to Phoenix and then to Mesa. THEY LOST MY ONE CHECKED BAG. It was NO where underneath the ONE bus that I was on for eight hours. The process of getting ahold of someone to help me is almost moot. Everyone has either been entirely rude or completely useless with information. That bag is filled with so many important personal items and presents for my GOD CHILDREN!!! Ordered my ticket from Mesa Arizona to Flagstaff Arizona, I arrived at the Mesa Arizona Greyhound station and waited there to find out the bus was going to be late, which when I called the main 800 number they told me I would have to talk to the front desk at the Phoenix station and catch the next bus because my transfer from there would have left me because there Mesa bus was late for me... with that being the last bus from Phoenix to Flagstaff for that night they wanted me to wait at the bus station over night, over 12 hours because of there mistake... that is not customer service at all of you ask me... so out of my own money I had to then again pay someone to give me a ride to Phoenix just so I could catch that next bus, so 15 dollars more out of my own pocket just crazy but I could not spend the night at no cruming bus station... this is horrible customer service if you ask me... so I wrote a email to to Greyhound telling them my experience and getting two emails back that you can tell were just emails already made and they forward to customers made me even more upset... let me tell you this is not the first time Greyhound has done this to me, the first time they paid for a Uber to get me to Phoenix so I would make next transfer but they chose not to care this time... well I use Greyhound again absolutely NOT... be aware read more

1. Our tickets said that the bus departed at 10.50 pm. Greyhound randomly changed the departure time to 9.50 pm - one hour BEFORE what our tickets said. We tried to get past the gate to board the bus at 10.30, however we were told our bus had already left. Luckily, due to a nationwide staff shortage of 800 people, a water leak, and a disruptive customer, the bus was still there!! 2. The driver gave us hyper-specific instructions about substance abuse and swearing, which 95% of his clientele ignored. And then we were off, on a bus filled with homeless people, people who would have "episodes" during the journey, and druggies. The smell of urine was astounding. 3. The Los Angeles bus station at 5am was filled with people talking to themselves, attacking others, screaming, fighting, tripping etc. Security did the best they could. A particular highlight was the man trying to get into the women's bathroom, which prompted a mentally unstable woman to scream for half an hour about different definitions of the word "toilet," including "a bowl of filth we put our bodies in." 4. Went to the taxi rank after a fight broke out, and there was only one taxi there, so we got in and asked him to take us to an area that wasn't dodgy. He didn't speak great English and ended up dropping us off on a street of boarded up shops and a chain link fence. He got us through "tent town," streets lined with homeless tents in downtown LA, so we only had to navigate a few tents and crazy people, including a woman pushing a trolley and wearing a Darth Vader / plague doctor mask. 5. The driver (Ms Scott) arrived at the pickup point in Holbrook and proceeded to use me as a target for her frustration. The Driver chose to not look at my ticket, nor let me board the bus (which was 40 minutes late) and had warned the passengers "not to try her today because she was not in the mood". Apparently the bus had no functioning air conditioning during July in Arizona and the toilet was broken - all according to multiple passengers. I missed my Aunts funeral because the Driver was having a bad day and wanted to BULLY a customer. I have been trying to reach greyhound customer service for over an hour. No one will answer the phone. So, I am out of money for my airline ticket in Albuquerque and now incure many extra expenses. I am a trusted traveler, my 1st and last time trying to use greyhound due to cIrcumstances beyond my control. Greyhound overbooked 80+ people for the same bus to Los Angeles. I purchased a round trip ticket from Los Angeles, CA leaving to Phoenix, AZ on Monday 10/23/17 for a total of $71.60. Now I assumed if the bus was going to be over-capacitated that it would say "sold out" like numerous other buses and times for heading home from LA said on the site so I bought my ticket for the 2:05am bus on 10/28/17 schedule 1415 that was still available. I get to the Greyhound station about 20minutes early to get a good place on the bus if I can. When I arrive I enter and see 80+ people waiting in line for the same bus as me. You can clearly tell just by the line wrapping around almost the entire station inside that we are not all going to fit on whatever bus was coming for us. We wait in line politely anyways. Once the bus arrives they make an announcement telling us all to line up at door 2 and prepare to board. Nothing happens for at least 15minutes after that. Finally the security guard on duty comes back from talking to the bus drivers and informs one of my fellow passengers that they overbooked and only had 7 seats available on the bus. We still stayed calm and collected and waited to see if this was true. After waiting another 10 minutes with no information I go to the front desk and ask if our bus is going to be full if I could please re-schedule for a later time. ( I noticed the next bus comes at 4:25am, I would still be able to make it to work on time.) Comic con was happening and I new I would make at least $200 that night so I knew if I missed my bus I would be losing out on a lot of money, it's especially necessary this week because on the 31st I move into my new apartment. The woman at the counter, Armoni Thomas informed me that I would have to go back to door 2 in the bus line and wait for the official announcement that tickets would have to be re-scheduled, even though I could clearly see her and her co-worker Dustin Williams preparing to re-issue tickets for the 80+ people that don't have a way home now. I agreed politely and went back in line, for about 5 minutes and then was told to go back in line at the front to get re-issued a ticket. (Surprise surprise) I now have dozens of people trying to trample each other to get in line and get the earliest tickets. I am lucky enough to be the 5th in line. I overhear them tell the first person that the 4:25 bus is sold out and was not an option for anyone. When I get to the counter I confirm again with Armoni that there is no room on the 4:25. I am then told the earliest I would be able to get home the next day is 8pm. I understand it's Greyhounds fault and not Armonis so I take it with a grain of salt. After receiving my new tickets I asked to file a written complaint, seeing as how it's the company's fault for issuing out tickets on a sold out bus. Well while Armoni is in the back getting me a photocopy of my complaint I overhear Dustin a foot to the right of me telling a young woman who is flirting with him that he has one spot left on the 4:25 bus and proceeds to give it to her. This is after 20+ have already gone ahead of her for the same bus, same problem, trying to get on that earlier bus. I then asked Armoni, confused, why she was able to be issued a ticket for the 4:25am bus but not someone who was one of the first in line and had work the following day. She told me that she was specifically told by Dustin that that seat was not available for anyone and to not sell it under any circumstances. Well I guess that doesn't apply to women who bat their eyelashes and flirt with him. The manager Jimmy at this point was at the counter trying to help a couple get a re-fund, heard the entire incident go down and said or did nothing. I then asked Armoni to please give me my photocopied complaint so that I may take it home with me. She handed it to me with no greyhound representative signature. I then asked for the signature and also asked who had to sign it, she pointed at her manager and said "Jimmy". She hands him the paper, he looks at it, hands it back to Armoni and made her sign it instead. Interesting. Judging by the reviews on this page this incident has happened quite a few times and they have done nothing to resolve it and it has in turn made people lose out on money to sustain their livelihood, not make it to family funerals on time, and not able to make it to their family vacations where they spent $100s. Greyhound you should be ashamed of yourselves for being a company that focuses on profit rather then the little man that helps you pay your bills. The delayed my bus 5 hrs because of company incompetence. They scheduled a driver to drive my bus on his vacation and only happened to catch it an hour after the bus was scheduled to leave. The proper response to company incompetence would be some sort of compensation which they fail to provide. You'd get to your destination faster and less disappointed than taking greyhound. read more

This rating is not exclusive to this station, but to the whole company. This particular station, though, has given my boyfriend and I the most trouble of each one we've been to on our Tucson to Phoenix, Phoenix to Flagstaff route. I don't even know where to start. The organization is non-existent; it would be too high of praise to call it a mess. Buses are delayed for up to 10 hours in my personal experience, and there is zero compensation for that. My boyfriend and I complained to the ticket/information desk about the ridiculous wait time (which was due to a driver making too many out of route rest stops and getting lost-- do they not train their drivers?? Give them GPS? Anything?!) and we were given ticket vouchers so that the "next time we took the Greyhound in this area, each ticket will only be $10". It's a complete joke. Although we were one of the first in line to get on the incoming bus back home, one of the workers split us into two lines, promptly shoving us to the back. To make matters worse, the ticket checker completely finished the ever-expanding line of people who weren't even IN LINE to get on the bus until last minute, then he walked around by the busses talking to some coworkers (couldn't hear through closed doors, but they appeared to just be smiling and making jokes) before opening up the line we had been transferred into. When we were finally allowed on the bus, they didn't give a shit about seating order. Tons of open seats for the two of us to fill were given to single riders. We had the same issue on the previous bus, and the only way we got to sit together was through asking single riders if we could sit together. Although my boyfriend and I are currently sick (not to mention contagious), we're sitting with complete strangers. The bus driver said the literal only priority they can give is to families. Currently, we are off the bus because the air conditioning has stopped working. They are sending a bus in from Phoenix (to Mesa, where we're at) to continue the trip. I'm surprised they prioritized getting a bus with working air conditioning. The driver has resorted to, "what?! Would you rather break down?!" Yes. Yes, actually, I would. That would be preferable to this. Our bus had already been delayed. Now it is delayed further. We have deadlines once we return home, and it's going to a stretch to reach them if we even can, and we gave ourselves a day before and after the object of our for travel. We should have been home by now. If things get delayed any further, I don't know what I'll do. Suffice it to say, we are NEVER taking the Greyhound ever again. The only reason we took one this trip was because my boyfriend was convinced that, with all the issues it's been having (primarily relative to the brakes), my car wouldn't survive the trip. I enjoyed the time I was able to spend with my Grambabies yet some of my Grey Hound experience was unprofessional, embarrassing, uncalled for and in many way still unresolved. I will begin with my Phoenix Arizona Experience on the way back to San Diego after already experiencing 2 lay overs. Getting to Phoenix most of us had to receive a reissued ticket. I wish I could have got the young man's name that was a blessing because I give him 2 thumbs up! Yet when I noticed that my bus to San Diego wasn't called I approached a 2 employed gentlemen in the snack/restaurant area and after showing them my ticket 1 of the gentlemen told me that my bus would not be there until after 11 pm yet to confirm with the ticket counter once the worker come back from break, which I did. The ticket counter lady wasn't sure about the bus and in turn showed it to her "supervisor" Arminisha (Not sure of correct spelling) who stated that the bus had arrived and left. I then brought to her attention that a bus for San Diego was never mentioned. She then stated that they would not have mentioned San Diego only Los Angeles because that was a transfer spot for me. I asked her what could be done about the current situation since I wasn't aware that my ticket now included Los Angeles and that I was told that my bus wasn't arriving until 11 something. Please note this young lady already had a "Whatever" type position with me and stated under her breathe after she told me that I needed to purchase a reissuance ticket for 20 that I was tripping. Something I never addressed. During some part of our conversation and me dialing customer service to see how I could get fair treatment a young man walked in and offered to pay for my reissue ticket. It's not that I couldn't pay for the ticket it was the Principle of the situation. After getting in touch with customer service that was willing to give me a 1 time courtesy ticket and relaying this to "Arminisha" she brushed me off, as she had done many other times in our conversation and stated "I don't listen to them. I listen to my manager." Who she was not willing to call yet told me "He'll be here a 7 am." My reply "So I need to wait until 7 am. Is there no protocol where you can reach him to let him know what's going on? Again I get pushed to the side and she begin to handle other issues at the terminal and never closed with me except for waiting for her manager. Why in the world does Grey Hound have a customer service or corporate? I voiced the unprofessionalism to a driver who stated "I never seen her before" and a few other co-workers whom I didn't want to get in trouble for them also seeing what was going on yet couldn't go against the "supervisor or protocol." Please remember I brought this to Arminisha's attention a little after 7 maybe 7:10 and 2 hours later she approaches me stating that the MANAGER said either pay the reissue fee or leave the terminal. I calmly let her know "I paid 490.00 for a round trip and I will not be leaving." She briskly walked away with an "Okay!" and the next thing you know about 15 minutes later I'm being approached by 2 Caucasian police officers. This could have turned out very badly yet let me give these 2 their props for listening to me entirely and understanding that this was about "Principle." The lead officer suggested for me not to wait until 7 in the morning to speak with the manager. They escorted me to the counter so now I'm looking as if I was some type of disturbance and waited until my new ticket was issued. Before they walked away they encouraged me to call and make the complaint. Phoenix Grey Hound Customer Service is unprofessional. Look if the shoe doesn't fit don't wear it. If you're offended then remind your co-workers that there are other options and as a "Supervisor" one should be aware of other options and trusted to make the best call for the customer not for their own self-justification. I had a couple of other unprofessional experiences 1 in Glendale with Raquel and a driver when I left San Diego who's name I will be obtaining. This driver was rude, unprofessional and racially profiling me. Without going into the complete story after he questioned my common sense and tried to say that we had an issue which I made very clear that "I didn't have an issue with him and is it because I'm Black that he was giving me a hard time?" I was also sure to let him know that "I know how to deal with people like him." After I pulled him up on his treatment and my melanin skin he left me alone for the rest of the ride. This driver even tried to put me on another bus! One of the other passengers asked me "What is his problem?" I couldn't answer. I had never experienced a Greyhound bus trip before so I purchased cheap $60 round trip tickets to LA. It was crazy seeing what $60 gets you. Lol This place was pretty organized. I had to make changes to a name for one of our passengers and the process went smoothly, customer service told us which tickets for which bus stop. And the whole boarding process was really quick. My only complaint is the bathroom conditions and the demographic but those are really out of Greyhounds control. I would use this service again if I wanted to take a quick budget trip. read more

I had a problem today with such a VERY RUDE PERSON! He picked us up from San Ysidrio to San Diego LATE! I tried to put in my suite case and he took my suitcase and threw it in the Bus and yelled at me did I tell you to put it in there ? No right ? So why are you doing it ! He humiliated me in front of other people ! It was so cold it was around 6am and he had the emergency window open !Once we got to San Diego I went to file a complaint and asked to speak to the supervisor he was not only being rude to me but to two elderly man he tried to charge them for their carry on bag ! I told the manager that that was so unfair ! Because they are allowed to take a carry bag on top of the bus and a checked bag with 50 pounds ! He tried to lie to those human beings , but guess what he didn't get away with it . That supervisor in San Ysidro was no help at all!That bus drivers bus number was 87005. My first trip was horrible within the bus and ran two hours late, and my second trip ran two hours late having arrived at 1 AM compared to the original 10 pm arrival time. Greyhound. When you don't want to drive but don't want to fly either! This location neighbors the airport. It is a big indoor station and appears to be a major hub. There is also a business office here to purchase tickets. I found customer service to be professional and friendly. Considering it's an indoor station, it stays relatively clean and feels safer than an outside stop. Though this is one of the nicer greyhound locations I've been too, there isn't much to boast about it. Overall, this Greyhound stop is very nice and gets the A-OK in my opinion. read more

Knew it would be a mistake taking Greyhound again. I had to use them in a pinch a few months ago because my Mother had emergency surgery and I got to Salt Lake city faster. Coming home I got bitten by bedbugs! This trip I was simply trying to save money. I'm sitting at a table in the filthy food area when the rude cashier began yelling at a gentleman in Spanish. The gentleman obviously did not understand, so the attendant called Security. Security arrived and also began speaking Spanish! Apparently they were accusing the gentleman of taking something. I told the two that if they were going to accuse someone they should do it in a language everyone understands. They then had another little conversation in Spanish and the Security Guard came over and demanded to see my ticket. I showed it to him and he then asked for the receipt for my soda in front of me. It wasn't in my pocket so I asked him why he wants the receipt. He told me the attendant said I didn't pay for it. (I took receipt out of my bag, showed it to him, and asked for him to put that accusation in writing) Of course he wouldn't do that. At that point another employee showed up and also began babbling in spanish. He turned around and angrily told me "this is America and we can speak whatever language we want". I told him he was exactly right. I'm a combat veteran who has defended that right, however, that gentleman over there has the right to understand and defend himself from his accusers. He then went on a crazy tirade about the Constitution means nothing on Greyhounds private property. There was also an off duty attendant yelling as well. I got my pack and walked away. I'm accusing No one of anything, just thought I would write about my experience. I will say the station is dirty and the restrooms are filthy. The employees are lethargic at best and rudeness is the norm. Security is Barney Fife aggressive and seems to pay quite a lot of attention to the opposite sex. read more

If I could give a zero a would. I bought my ticket from PHX to Tucson the night before for a bus leaving at 3:50pm because i had a meeting at 7 in Tucson. Ticket said to be prepare to board at 3:30. I walk into that place from hell at 3:15. Immediately became confused since neither my bus or departure time was listed on the screens. I made a line to ask the "ladies" at the information desk. Once i got to the front. I could feel the hate of working there of these 3 people emanating from their cranium, there was no empathy, no courtesy, not even an effort to listen. I immediately knew i was not going to get anywhere by asking for a better service so I stayed calm and tried to get answers to my questions. One of the ladies said to wait in front of door 8 the other said to just listen to the intercom 3:50 came along so i started being more attentive but then 3:55, 4:00 and 4:10 then i asked i guy i saw inside the Costumer service room about my bus, big surprise he didt know, so he went and ask someone inside then came out and in a very casual way said. "Na you gotta wait 35 more min", turned around and he left, i felt like i lost a piece of my soul right there. 30 + min came, by this time its 4:45, they finally called my bus number just to wait in line for another 20 minutes got on the bus at 5:10pm and left at 5:17pm when the original times were 3:30pm and 3:50pm. I have used Greyhound before back on the East Coast and I don't know why but the buses they use here in Arizona are pretty trashy and worn. The buses reek of urine from the bathroom, the plugs don't work, the chairs' felt are down to the bare threads, and the people who work there are the meanest people you will ever meet. My recent experience with the Phoenix Greyhound Bus station was terrible. First, I bought a ticket (in person at the Greyhound counter).. leaving Phoenix, AZ (destination Indio, CA)at 9:00am on Friday... the bus was boarding, I'm in line... when the doors were closed by Phoenix Greyhound staff, stating the "bus was full" and a number of us "had to wait until the next bus." When I asked how it was possible to be "full" ... when I still had my ticket in my hand., I was told that a "ticket" does not guarantee a seat. The next bus I was told which would leave for "Indio" about 4 hours later. So, I was given a "priority" seat for that bus. After waiting the four (4) hours, I again stood in line, and was then told by the driver ... "I don't stop in Indio" ... I explained that I had been given "the priority pass" ... he stated that I should "talk to the counter" ... I want to thank my Bus Driver Nathan from Phoenix, Az. He was a very careful, thoughtful, considerate person. I had a transfer in San Bernardino where I was told my baggage was to be placed on the next bus leaving for Anaheim, Ca. Well no such luck...got to Anaheim with my carry on only. I was freaking out due to my meds also left as extra paid for checked in baggage. Of course having to take High Blood Pressure meds a given, I was immediately on the phone trying to get results. I was told by a "patty" at corperate office to call several numbers which she gave to me, none were active NONE! I Continued to reserch on my own. I contacted the Los Angeles depot. The shipping department. Carlos Sandoval was the 'lead'. He calmed me down immediately wirh helping me with correct answers. I also spoke to an Alex. I called each morning to see if my 2 pieces of baggage had gone back to Anaheim. I got my clothing hang-up bag first. A few day's later I picked up the large Greyhound Box containg my meds & many other belongings. Thank you also Jorge Ochoa for having a great 'shipping'staff. I do hope Carlos Sandoval receives a promotion/raise all mentioned possibilities! I want to thank Deana/Dianna of the Anaheim Bus Depot for also going out of her way on a long weekend to help me on the phone. Thank all of you for turning the BUS RIDE from 'hell' into a better experience. I will consider taking Greyhound again but I will be looking for discounts for sure & watch baggage transfer if necessary!! read more

Would give zero stars if I had the option to. Every time I ride with greyhound, the busses are never on time, they say the delay is only 20-30 minutes and it ends up being hours and they do not communicate with the customers about it. read more

Firstly, the buses are never on time. Second, the people who take this greyhound are sketchy and probably all on drugs. But the worse part is the staff. From the bus drivers to the people who work inside. They are all terrible. I don't know if they just aren't used to having normal people or wether or not their training lacked customer service basics. I'd rather take the 50$ shuttle from tucson to Phoenix than this bus ever ever again read more

Honestly this wasn't the worst experience I've had riding the greyhound before, there have been hour delays and lost bags before. However, this trip was a bit better, the gentleman at the desk was quick knowledgable and and very helpful. Until this point everything was fine, until I had encountered the lady checking tickets, she was very rude and seemed like we were all bothering her. I understand people can get irritating working at a job like this, but don't look like you're gonna blow your head off. The bus didn't board until the departure time which I wasn't too upset about its to be expected and has happened to me before. Price honestly isn't terrible for getting somewhere and for how much you can't complain too much about service. The slight delay and the service lady caused the loss of two stars. read more

omg just had the wkrst experience with greyhound..my daughter going into labor ..trying to get to portland..i would have had a transfer asker the frivrr for my stub ..he says get off ..beings employees on the bus the follow suit ..did nothing..not raise my voice nothing..i hate i did not since video recording is what the world has come to..no i didnt record ..he fig i was..thats why he got off that bus quickly..they apologized .not thr same.that brother crazy working for this facility..be safe i thank god i was not on that bus for whatever reason.. read more

The absolute worst! The busses are always late, and rarely working. The seats are narrow and uncomfortable, and the staff is rude and unprofessional. These busses would be outdated and unacceptable in the 1960's, which incidentally is when they were made. Avoid greyhound if you can. It's a literal shit show, especially if you're near the bathroom on the bus. read more
