I was told I need to purchase a brand new car battery because it would die soon. I decided the new car battery could wait because we pay for AAA. It's been over a year, and my car battery is still working just fine. In fact, over the winter I accidentally left the interior light on in my car, so I called AAA to jump it. Well, AAA confirmed my car battery should be good for at least another year! Hopefully this was just a misjudgment, but it's hard to not feel like they were trying to rip us off.

I would never do business with them or recommend them if you are one who cares for good service. the pricing was also not all that competitive

I would give Mavis Discount Tire zero stars if that were an option…read more In late June, I purchased four new tires, an alignment, brakes, and rotors from this location. Less than 17,000 miles later, my front tires had cords showing on the inside, and the rear tires were nearly bald. These tires were rated for 40,000-50,000 miles and were completely destroyed in under half that time. This was caused by a bad alignment done by Mavis. Their own employees acknowledged the uneven wear and confirmed the alignment was clearly off. I was also told by both a front desk employee and a mechanic that I was "sold a sh*t tire that doesn't belong on a full-size truck," which is unbelievable to hear after paying for new tires from a professional shop. Despite acknowledging the issue, they refused to take responsibility without the store manager's approval. The store manager, Ryan, told me he would contact corporate and promised an update by the end of the week. He never called. I had to repeatedly follow up, only to be told there was "no answer yet." Before any resolution was reached, one of the failing front tires blew out while I was driving to work, leaving me stranded on the side of the road with no drivable vehicle and no way to earn income. As a result of the unsafe condition of these tires, my truck later slid off the road and ended up in a ditch, where I was stuck for over six hours and missed an entire day of work. At that point, this situation had gone far beyond inconvenience and became a serious safety issue. After all of this, corporate's solution was to offer 25% off another set of tires, meaning I'm expected to pay again after only getting about 43% of the tire life I paid for, and I would still have to pay for another alignment--despite them acknowledging the original alignment was bad. To make matters worse, Mavis tried to blame the failure on "lack of tire rotation" and claimed vehicles should be realigned every 3-6 months, which is completely unrealistic and clearly an excuse to avoid accountability. No missed rotation causes cords to show or tires to fail this catastrophically in under 17,000 miles. I gave this shop every opportunity to do the right thing. Instead, I was ignored, misled, and left with hundreds of dollars in losses and a vehicle I no longer felt safe driving. If you value your safety, your money, or a shop that stands behind its work, do not go to Mavis Discount Tire in Newark.

FLX does excellent work, they are HONEST, and have great communication. It is a rarity to find that combination of qualities in the world of RV repair. I was surprised because I have brought them previously a car and sent them a lot of work over the years. So let me tell you about the LONG HAUL on your vehicle if you bring it here to Vogels. I would know about long term on a vehicle from them because they did a Job for me in 2015 on my 97 Camaro. This place is decent place to bring your vehicle if you need something fix short term but long term not worth it to ME. To others they are worth it but they don't restore cars really just fix them. I brought these guys my 97 Camaro back in 2015. Let me tell you what it WASN'T worth the price they charged me 6500-7k and or it felt like I was getting harassed by the owner about paying them. Normally you pay for a job when it's finished but he was eager to collect some before starting it and during before he finished the Camaro. I had to pay before they finished which felt like I was being scammed but I was in a tight pinch and had to get it done. After finally paying them in full they finished it up and said we will detail it up nice for you but the rushed they detail guy and I had wax all over the Camaro. Even the detail guy complained about being rushed. I even mentioned the green paint I could still see but they didn't fix it or nothing. I was super bummed about this but I was still happy to get my 97 Camaro back on the road and drive it. Mind you this 97 Camaro sat after it got "restored"from Vogels. Nothing wrong with it but all the imperfections they left, all the chipped and cracked paint I found and the green paint from the donor parts they used to fix it that you could still see in areas. The Camaro wasn't very professional done at all and the service I got from them especially from the owner himself was good and all till the demanded payment. Then it felt like a scam and it felt like I was being harassed. Now 10 years later I have to repay someone to fix all those paint chips, all the cracked panels and a lot more. So in my opinion it's not worth it because 10 years later and 6500 bucks wasted to repay another person. About the same or more to make it look brand new even better then show room quality they said just like Vogel's promised me but Vogels couldn't handle it. Edit : So after I posted this because I got a phone call at 11:17 from there Shop manager or whatever he is there. His name was Eric. He called me asked me why I would leave a negative review because they refused to take a quote from me earlier today? Then proceeded to say I called them because I had an insurance quote done and I wanted them to add more on? WTF? How is that possible when my accident just happen at 9:33 am. So how did I have time to get a quote and call you to ask you to change that quote? So now I'm more annoyed because they tried to call me out on something I didn't even say. All I said was "can I get an estimate done today for an insurance quote". He then proceeded to tell me IDK why you're posting your Camaro now. It's been 10 years and we didn't harass you. He said "we have to get some up front or all especially when it's not an insurance quote because we gotta pay outta packet for materials"? Really? You have to pay for materials? Wow that's crazy. What about regular mechanics or other shops? They don't ask up front for any money. However I was fine putting a down payment down back then. It was the owner calling me demanding money from me time and time again multiple times and said he couldn't fix it till I did. That sounds like harassment to me. Their excuse was "well sometimes people have us fix it but then not come back at all after we finish". I said "not my fault don't judge a book by its cover. You guys are judging people and will only work on cars with insurance claims unless they are GUARANTEED the money before they finish the vehicle". 1
