I listed with them a 38' Lagoon Catamaran with them for $250,000. From which they made a hefty fee. My issues: 1. There was a a personal relationship between the buyer and Mike Grey. As such, the entire role of acting in the best interests of the SELLER was not followed. You select a yacht broker to be your agent. When after sale you discover they were not acting in your best interests frustration is natural. A brokerage business is all about trust. And, you CAN NOT TRUST these guys. As a result of this relationship I was short-changed by many thousands of dollars. 2. While listing the vessel for sale, I was charged exorbitant mooring fees. A multiple of what is available at nearby marinas. They will try and nickle and dime you for every cent they can. Yet, put in absolutely minimal effort. 3. Incompetence - Mike Grey is unstructured, absent minded, and incompetent. There were numerous mistakes listed on their sales description of the boat. They needed to ask me for simple things like an address multiple times. Mike brings no structure, organization, diligence, or attention to detail to the party. For someone who's job is to listing boats for sale and managing sellers, he lacks the skill, ability and desire to do either of those with any talent/ability. 4. Unscrupulous - beyond my boat, I had three surfboards left on the boat that were being sold independently. When the boat was sold I immediately requested these back - only to be told they were given to the buyer (yes, shocker, the same buyer who is friends with my agent Mike). After Mike and the buyer were notified I wanted the boards back, they resisted all attempts (including offering to drive to their house and pick them up). Subsequently they sold or otherwise disposed of them. At this juncture they refuse to either return the surfboards to me, or pay me the price that I had the boards listed for. If these points don't make you either question, or completely avoid dealing with Kokua as a broker, at least consider yourself warned. I'm happy to provide full details offline if desired, but there are various other good available out there, so I strongly suggest taking your business to them and AVOIDING ANY DEALINGS WITH KOKUA AND MIKE GREY if at all possible.

Brad responded to 2 of my 6 emails. They were 1) I'm in Waikiki, can we do next week? and 2) What's your purchase timeframe and would you keep it local or bring it home? I answered his questions and ... nothing. Good luck selling anything when it's so painful to actually show me the item. Normally, I wouldn't post as we didn't do business. But, as a previous boat owner and likely to be one again shortly ... I wanted to warn other boat owners. A boat broker not showing boats is not doing his job.

Starting with one star and will update when progress is made…read more K&C has a nice clean shop, the employees are very nice and friendly. How ever this is about an ongoing problem I am dealing with since the installation of my Yanmar 4LV 250 Diesel with ZT 370 out drive. On the first sea trial I was told that the engine has noise and vibration at idle, I accepted that and proceeded with the sea trial noticing that the engine has noise and vibration when turning left but the noise and vibration is non existent when going straight or turning right. As I have gotten familiar with the engine and drive I've noticed that the rough idle and noise / vibration are very different things that only occur when turning left in forward or reverse at low rpm. I had 2 separate sea trials. First sea trial with Colleen confirmed there is an alignment issue. I took the boat to their shop on a Friday and was called a few hours later to pick up the boat. No work was performed to check the alignment, they purged the power steering pump which had no affect on the noise and vibration and they adjusted the engine height at the motor mounts. I was told when picking up the boat that there is no way the alignment could be a problem as engine and drive bolt up together. If there is no possibility of an alignment problem why does Yanmar recommend having the alignment checked annually and at every 100 hours? Second sea trial with Paul, confirmed there is noise and vibration only when turning left at and above idle. He called the technical support manager at Boatswains locker and explained to me that the noise and vibration is from gear chatter because the amount of torque engine produces. BS. I spoke to the Tech support manager and confirmed that it is an alignment problem. Gear noise would occur if the boat is out of the water with engine running because there is no load on the propeller and gear train. I have also spoken to another Yanmar dealer that confirmed that it is an alignment problem that needs to be addressed by the company that installed the engine. As of 8/29/2025 nothing has been resolved, they will discuss the problem with Boatswains locker and get back to me. Hopefully sooner than later. Like Johann G, I'm waiting for a call from Tyler to see what their plan of action is. And I have the invoice that is billed for their first sea trial and engine alignment that never happened. Up date coming as soon as I hear something. P.S. Engine is quieter, more fuel efficient and powerful than my old Volvo 230 hp and the drive with counter rotating props has much better response than the 290Dp drive.

MANA sunset cruise from Ko Olina - the absolute highlight of our trip!!!…read more We are no strangers to Catamaran excursions - trips in the British Virgin Islands, Greece, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. By far, Captain Travis and First Mate Taylor were exceptional, leaving no detail to chance. We were warmly greeted with a drink and were given a very thorough safety briefing. Both were meticulous in their duties to their craft as well as to their guests. The catamaran was immaculate, an outstanding demonstration of the care and maintenance it receives - impressive for a 2008 Cat. Thanks MANA and crews for your care and concern. We had only 5 of us aboard ( they allow a maximum of only 6) which really enhanced the experience. As we got underway drinks were served and then came what I thought was going to be a sampling of local snacks. No, it was a full dinner made by Taylor that was some of the freshest, best food we have had on the Island, followed by a dessert second to none. The other guests dietary restrictions were taken into consideration and we sailed (and for a portion of the trip we were under full sail & not motoring) around with soft Hawaiian reggae playing. The two hours flew by.... We were regaled with stories of the Islands and some very interesting facts. Sure there are less expensive, far more crowded sunset tours... but NOTHING compares to this one. It was worth every cent. When we return we will have already booked this trip before we board our again! Do yourself a favor, splurge on a really personal Hawaiian experience and book this trip. You will be richly rewarded & have memories for years to come! There may be no traffic jams on the extra mile... but you will find on this excursion, Captain Travis & First Mate Taylor are on the extra mile & demonstrate what the extra mile should look like! A very important note - we recommend if you are coming from the Waikīkī area that you plan on leaving early and planning a light lunch at Ko Olina - the Monkeypod, or one of the restaurants in the hotels. The traffic leaving Waikiki in the afternoon is horrible in the afternoon and could take several hours to navigate to Ko Olina.

We were able to see giant turtles and flying fish, they kept great drinks coming and treated us to a delicious dinner. We had our 7 year old daughter and 4 adults, and they were sure to treat her with thoughtfulness - her dinner was catered to her as well as a selection of juices and chips. Well with the money.
