Road trip from NY to LA, stopped at Pho Thai for dinner and was extremely surprised at how delicious everything was! We live in LA right next to Monterey Park where the is a huge Asian community and lots of Asian restaurants and I would go to Pho Thai if they had a restaurant there! It's that good! This place is amazing! The waiter we had was really nice, he even caught me slipping with my own milk allergy. I wanted to confirm that the Penang Curry (which was excellent by the way), was made with coconut milk because I'm anaphylactic allergic to milk products... well I also ordered the pineapple chicken fried rice (which was also amazing), and he came back and asked if butter was good, which it wasn't because it's a milk product... but I Know that fried rice can be risky, while rare, there are Asian places that use butter with the rice... but I didn't think about it, and he saved me from having to go into a Benadryl coma later tonight... they were able to make the rice without butter and I was able to enjoy an amazing meal. Made me think of my mom and me getting curry together. Thank you. Will definitely be back. And if you have allergies (1) don't get complacent, (2) this place is the place to come because they were able to accommodate mine, and they took it seriously. Visited on 12/29/20. Our second visit. We loved the Pad Thai last time so we both ordered it this time and it was just as good!! All the flavors come through, lime, cilantro, peanut, chili sauce. And the portion sizes are very large! Heat was spot on! We also order the pork steamed dumplings and they were so good with the dipping sauce! Finally, they brought us free dessert! I've had Thai food in Los Angeles, Seattle, NYC, and Austin. I'm not going to say I am an "expert", but I am confident saying I know how Thai food should taste. I moved to Sioux Falls recently and - obviously - a reasonable person isn't going to expect to find great Thai food in the Midwest, especially in South Dakota. Anyway, there are many great reviews here on Yelp for this restaurant, so my wife and I were excited to try it. The most offensive thing about calling it Thai food is, it has NO DISTINCT TASTE. Nothing about the food is interesting, flavorful, nor wonderful. As another review pointed out, the appetizers are truly disappointing. Why? Because they don't taste like anything. The entrees (we both ordered noodle dishes) had big portions and were freshly cooked... However, it was the same problem. There was no flavor. It tasted like nothing. There was obviously oil, it was obviously fried as expected, and all the ingredients were there. The food was spicy as requested. So how could it taste so bland? It was baffling. Authentic and classy. For 2:30 pm on a Monday, this restaurant drew quite a large crowd. My Asian American boyfriend hadn't ever had Vietnamese short ribs until visiting this restaurant. To his surprise, they were delicious and much like the short ribs his Korean mother made growing up. The fresh roses on the table were an elegant touch too. The food here is not that great. I guess it's because this is not a true Thai restaurant. It's a mixed Vietnamese and Thai food. I tried their drunken noodles and it didn't taste like drunken noodles. I also tried their Taro milk tea, and its taste is not great either. read more

First time staying in Sioux Falls, read the Yelp reviews and decided to give this place a try. Although my order was a typical Thai dish, I can honestly say that it was delicious. I have had this dish at various Thai restaurants around the country believe me when I say they don't all taste the same. Overall, the menu selection was decent. The service was also good and fast. It's not the fanciest looking place but its good food compensates for it. Revision to my review- if you gotta use the restroom you have to exit the restaurant and go to the second floor of the building! WTH, hopefully you have a large bladder. read more

We were craving Pho on a Monday which limits your options in the area. I was excited to have found that a new Thai/Vietnamese restaurant had opened in Sioux Falls and literally has Pho in the name. Upon review of the menu I was left disappointed that there was only a single Pho option, Classic Pho (beef broth with meatballs). Our server was very sweet and extremely accommodating and advised that they could also do seafood or chicken. I asked about a veggie option as I don't eat meat and she advised that they could do a veggie pho but they only have beef broth. I have found that most places in Sioux Falls aren't very accommodating for a vegetarian diet so I'm kind of use to making sacrifice here and there. I went with the veggie pho and the beef broth, the vegetables included were onion, celery broccoli and cabbage. I will say that while this Pho was tasty I'm use to frequenting establishments with more Pho options including but not limited to a veggie option, a chicken or seafood option and several beef options such as; rare steak, brisket, tendon, tripe, meatball, ect. I would go back and try some of the other menu items but based on this visit I would suggest that they expand their Pho menu as this is an item I would not return for. read more

Not a great place for Thai or Vietnamese. This is sad that they even call it that bc the flavor in food in these origins are amazing. This restaurant had nothing from these cultures. Chicken satay had no flavor and their peanut sauce was hard, stale and had no flavor. Crab ragoons were horrible and the sauce was bland. Pho tasted like flat water with a little salt in it. This restaurant is so sad and I wish it was more tasteful. I gave it no stars bc the host was not even sympathetic or commented on why we didn't eat any of our dinner. read more

Let me preface this review in saying that I am a Vietnamese-American who loves Viet & Thai food. I ordered the banh mi and classic pho. Both were disappointing. The pho did not have a lot of flavor and I did not end up finishing the bowl. The banh mi was pretty small and did not taste as fresh as I would have liked. My friend ordered the Thai chicken pad see-ew, which I tried, and I thought it tasted like the brown sauce was burnt, which was also disappointing. Delicious food and excellent service! Found this spot while in town on our way back from Rapid City. I came in with a large party, including kids, and the adults ate family style. We ordered the beef pho, seafood lemongrass soup, panang curry chicken, fresh spring rolls, and seafood fried rice. The kids ordered fried calamari, chicken pho, beef pho, and orange chicken, along with some bubble teas. Everyone loved their food and the ambiance was great. It's nestled in a nice location in the downtown area so you can walk around before or after eating. You can tell the owner takes great care in maintaining the business. The service was very rapid at the restaurant, and polite. My daughter really enjoyed her chicken fried rice, couldn't even finish it because it was such a healthy portion. I had the shrimp pad Thai with fresh cilantro on top, it was so yummy, but I couldn't finish my portion either. My husband had the beef stirfry bowl, with a wonderful sauce on it. My friend and I were looking for a quick supper before we had to go to a show down the street at the Washington Pavilion. We are college theatre students and we're in town for a festival. I have to say, I was extremely impressed with the service, and the food was amazing! I am vegan and gluten...aka it's a nightmare for me to eat out sometimes. But I asked our waitress if she had any meatless options and they practically made me my own pho dish with tofu and veggies and I was slurping out of the bowl it was so good! Been here about three occasions and ima just say it's a hit and miss.. Probably the best pho for the price (cheapest in town) but appetizers are not what they seem in the pictures they are the miss, small portions for a big price nothing really there that you'll be missing The Lok Lak Steak and Egg is really good $12.88 for a lot of beef but you don't get a lot of rice with it. The papaya and lab salad isn't great really not authentic or what to expect.. Thai tea is expensive for it being made from powder not the real tea, boba was undercooked.. The waitresses are really pushy you don't get a welcome greeting you get seated and then they forget about you. You order your things and that's it that they are there for. I had to get their attention a few times for a drink refill, to get silverware, to get my check or a to go box. The restaurant is small, so you wouldn't be able to have anymore then 4-6 people at a table. They have only a limit amount of tables. read more
