Tarquin has quickly become our go-to spot. The service is impeccable and the food is amazing. GET THE EMPANADAS! The "Palermo" (spinach and cheese) is spectacular. And the "La Boca" (Spiced ground beef onions and red peppers) is amazing. * I always get the house Moscato, which is kind of boring of me, but it's crisp AF and tasty. I've shared bottles of red there too though, and every wine I've tasted is fab. We love sharing the meat platters with sides. We usually get a side of the rice-I don't know how they do it, but this simple dish is soooo tasty! My other favorite side is the ham and cheese croquet. I could eat those all day every day!! The star of the dish is the chimichurri sauce that packs insane flavor. I'd suggest they start selling it by the bottle. It's THAT good. 10/10 read more

Delicious! I got a bunch of empanadas. San Telmo, La Boca, and El Centro. La boca were the best. read more

Tarquin Argentinian Restaurant was such a great experience from start to finish. The service was amazing, and our server was incredibly friendly and patient while explaining the menu and helping us choose. His recommendations were spot on. One of the biggest highlights of the night was the live singer who performs a few times throughout the evening. It added so much to the experience and made the whole atmosphere feel special. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has such a warm, inviting vibe. Something I really appreciated is that they truly take their time with your order because everything is made fresh to order. This is definitely not a quick "in and out" kind of place, and that's exactly what I loved about it. It's meant for slowing down, enjoying the company you're with, and soaking in the experience. The food was incredible. The empanadas were packed with flavor (we didn't even get a picture because they disappeared so fast), and the meat was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. They also have a great wine list, which was the perfect finishing touch. Overall, it was an awesome evening and we will absolutely be back. Highly recommend! read more

Everything is amazing here. The decor is beautiful, the food is spectacular, the service is warm and delightful.

If this restaurant was downtown Sioux Falls it would be the most popular in town. Get the Empenadas and any of the beef cuts. read more

This is definitely one of Sioux Falls' hidden gem restaurants. The food is wonderful, as is the service and atmosphere. They have an outstanding wine selection. The empanadas are to die for! Argentinian food is a natural for South Dakotans, as there are some great steak selections and some outstanding Italian, as well. And, don't miss the homemade cakes that are out of this world. If you request it, and are lucky, the owner will come out and sing a song. He has a wonderful operatic voice. I can't recommend this gem of a restaurant enough. read more

Stumbled upon this gem when we rolled into town. Cute ambiance tucked away in a corner. Looks unassuming from outside, but great inside. This restaurant is beautiful inside. Great ambiance. Service was great and they were very kind. The chef gave us a few things to try that weren't on the menu yet, that he's deciding to add or not. An elk empanada and meat croquette. Both were yummy. We loved all of our food and dove right in! I didn't get pictures of the mashed potatoes, croquettes or ham and cheese empanadas. But we'd recommend everything we tried. You won't be disappointed here. Go! We hope to come back some day. Thanks! read more

We stopped for lunch. Fun unique atmosphere. The food was ok, but nothing out of this world.

Really beautiful ambiance, great wine selection, friendly and informative staff, and excellent food.

Went for a graduation celebration. Excellent all around! From food to service to ambiance. Highly Recommend.

I stopped by after work for some great steak. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and very clean. The menu had quite a few meals I wanted to try but chose both beef and chicken empanadas to start and had the Churrasco de Entrana, which was a skirt steak with a potato omelette. It tasted great and the seasoning gave it extra flavor. The young gentleman who served us was very nice and attentive while we ate. read more

After living in this beautiful country I always look for some nostalgia in the food arena for this country. I will have to say this place does not disappoint. First the outside doesn't have much appeal to draw you in but the inside does. It's very comfortable ambiance. The service is welcoming and friendly. I give them kudos for being short staffed. For those that love wine, they have a very large selection. I won't pontificate as I don't dabble in that. We ordered the meat sampler and they throw a little beef intestine on there and boy I loved it. The meat was a smidge overdone but not horrible. The chicken was spot on. The French fries were really good. The chimichurri was really good too. Definitely coming back. read more

This is a very spacious place with both tables and booths, for your preference. The decor is based on different Argentinian pictures, art displays and colorful walls. The music was low enough to not interrupt the patrons conversations, but loud enough to enjoy the non-stop melodies such as lounge, flamenco and tango. Service was detailed and attentive. The waitress offered to bring the owner to our table to offer us some good red wines. This was a great idea because the suggestion was excellent. For starters, we ordered empanadas as appetizers. The order came with 3 red meat not too big not too small sized. The Parrilla Argentina is a shareable dish. If you don't like meat, then this isn't your dish. Chicken, ribs, pork, steak and some of the cow's inside (tripas) This dish comes with two sides. We chose French fries and green salad. Overall, service and the food were excellent. I would definitely come back to try some of the other typical dishes and save room for dessert. They have alfajores which I had to skip because I was too full. read more

This was our first trip to this fantastic restaurant. We tried two kinds of empanadas, the beef and the chicken. Both were excellent in flavor and spice and blended well with the herb dipping sauce. My wife had the Argentinian lasagna made with crapes as opposed to noodles for a lighter version of a classic dish and I had the Argentinian shepherds pie. Portion size of each of these plates were enormous with plenty to take home. You could really taste the herbs and spices in each bite, but nothing over bearing or too strong. A great mix of flavors. The ambience of the restaurant was nice and the service was excellent. We will be back for sure! read more

Good food and ambience. We ordered the NY steak and instead of asking for medium I would recommend to ask for medium rare.

Great friendly service, beautiful ambiance, peppy/ relaxing authentic Argentinian music, fantastic food. From the entrance, servers, and interaction with owner/chef/opera singer (at the table if you ask) you can't beat this restaurant! Our favorites are empanadas and charcuterie board for starters, canelones, and ribeye. A MUST TRY! read more

Off the beaten path but noticed very good reviews on this place so wanted to give it a try. I don't know maybe we went on an off night but did not have a good experience. The service was super slow even though they where not busy, our waitress barely spoke, super quiet and literally came to check on us once and was no where to be found when we had a few issues. First off Churrasco steak is supposed to be skirt steak not a chewy New York strip, it was super rare and had to be sent back, the chimichurri was good, they forgot the salad on one plate, the beef Milanesa came out cold and super oily, tasted more like liver than steak, fries where cooked in old oil and cold, beef empanadas had good flavor but the center was ice cold so pretty sure they weren't fresh. They did come out to apologize and offered us a free dessert but after all the issues we just wanted to leave and declined to offer. The inside of the restaurant is really very nice with a large wine list it's a shame the food and service was not up to par. read more

Starting with the Ambiance. The Resturaunt is large enough that you can get in without a reservation with no wait but small enough to feel personal. Decor is Latin, Argentinian, and music is at a comfortable level of the same ethnicity. They have a good number of professional wait staff providing service with an excellent knowledge of the food and wines. If you want to come at a time you think will be busy go ahead and make a reservation just in case. We have never had to wait even when they appeared full and the table has always been very good. The food is prepared by chefs not just hired cooks preparing a stock menu and it is incredible. From the Chefs Choice menu to the Pastry Chefs deserts the food is authentic and cooked to perfection. We choose to dine out less and visit the very best we can find in the Sioux Falls market and Tarquin is on the top of a short list of Chef led restaurants. On my last visit I asked for a dinner which included Salmon, Marlin Steak, Ribeye Steak, Spiced Shrimp, Scallops, Garlic Potatoes, Asparagus and salad with house made balsamic vinaigrette. It was perfect. Yes, some went home as it was a large portion of all. If you wish to change amounts of seasoning it is up to you to do so to your liking. The wait staff encourages it. The wine list is incredible with about anything you are looking for. Tarquin never dissapoints. read more

Sioux Falls has several very fine restaurants. And is lucky to have such a special place as Tarquin. Don't let it's location throw you. Its kitty corner across from Mac's. It's not that far away. Just east of the airport about a mile. Nice atmosphere. Feels as if you are in much larger city. Wonderful wine selection, as Argentina produces some of the world's best. Family run. The owner even blessed us twice with his beautiful voice in song. Seemed like an experience; more than just a meal. The menu is dominated by traditional meats and incredible pastas. We had the cannelloni and the ravioli pastas. Wow! Then our group also shared a variety meat offering. Said that it fed 2-3 people but honestly with that dish's two sides and an additional pasta you could have fed six easy! Prices are very reasonable given the serving sizes. Desserts offered were a variety of beautiful cakes. People aren't joking when they say the empanadas are fresh and good. We tried a couple types - spinach and beef. Loved both of them. This is also a place that kids should be able to easily enjoy what's available. We love supporting local restaurants. Make the short trip on north Cliff you won't be sorry. It really is different from anything else we've seen in Sioux Falls. read more

Traveling through souix falls and decided to try Tarquin. Service was excellent, food fantastic! Wish I lived close enough to be a regular.

Disgusting!!! This was the worst dining experience that I have ever had. The server was extremely slow. None of the staff seemed very sure about what the food was or what items would come with each menu item. The prices were outrageous and the quality of food was very poor. At our table, they served someone raw chicken, a raw steak, my entire meal seemed like warmed up food from the day before and massively overcooked. When sent back, all of the food brought back was totally different than what we ordered originally and wasn't much better. It cost us $70 for me and my wife to eat there. That's with no drinks. Just 1 soda. I was shocked to see positive reviews on this place. There is no way that my experience was just a bad night for them. It came across as a usual night for them. Never again!!! read more

Don't let the outside of this place fool you! I walked in not expecting much but was blown away by the beauty and elegance of this place. It felt like I was in a fine Italian restaurant. The family that operates this place is amazing and the owner spent some time chatting with us and sincerely thanked us for coming. The food was absolutely amazing!!! This is by far one of the best culinary experiences I have had in Sioux Falls and I have lived here for over 20 years! read more

Excellent spot for delicious Argentina Bife de Chorizo and many other options. Don't forget to try the alfajores

Not impressed, steak quality was poor, too much flame when cooked left it bitter. I wish I went to Texas Roadhouse.

This is a very nice place to eat at an easy location. Our group started with a variety of empanadas, each were delicious with a light crust. My date and I shared the Parrillada Argentina platter with a variety of meats and a side of chimichurri sauce. Way to much to eat, so most of it came home with us. Their desserts are beautiful and delicious. We most definitely will return. I hope others try this place out. read more

I ordered what equates to be a 16oz New York strip and unfortunately it was just a pile of skirt steak, I ordered this medium but even so I had to use a metal serrated knife to cut it was so tough..side of rice that was actually crunchy and shaped like a square and the salad looked old and withered. I would not recommend this item as it was not that great for $50 delivered with tip. read more
