The service was friendly and the food came out quick. I ordered the Vietnamese grilled pork meat, vermicelli bowl and the meat was cooked earlier that day or a couple of days ago. It tasted dry and the shrimp I couldn't tell if it was overcooked or undercooked. It was very mushy. I would definitely try something else here besides the Vietnamese food, my bubble tea came out in a dessert cup topped with whipped cream. Having just completed a road trip in Southern Utah, where burger joints dominated the culinary landscape, we've opted to dine at as many Asian restaurants possible on this weeklong trip through the Dakotas. Our first stop in Sioux Falls is Pho Thai and as the name implies, there is a large diverse menu of Thai and Vietnamese favorites, as well as sushi and some mainland Chinese dishes. Overall, the food was fantastic - as good as one can get in NY Chinatown, which I'll attribute to likely farm fresh produce used. I really enjoyed the dumpling bags as an appetizer - big, juicy pork-filled Thai dumplings. For the main, I ordered drunken noodles which came in a large portion with delicious beef slices. Their chicken wings were just okay - they aren't marinated also you use the sauces available, such as sweet chili sauce. I wish there were more crispy but alas still fine. We did not try and sushi rolls but they looked pretty appetizing. Service was good and ambiance was as expected. Good value for the food quality, if a little bit expensive for the area. read more

Stopped in to place a to-go order since I saw this place was highly rated. Very easy to place my order and it was done in less than 10 minutes! I ordered pad see ew and I wish I had known exactly what veggies were in it because I would have made some changes, but didn't see them listed on the menu (I also did a quick glance so it could've been me too) But nonetheless the dish was full of chicken, bok choy, eggs and carrots! Their spice level is 1-10 and I chose a 3 because I'm a wimp and it was perfect! Just spicy enough, but great flavor! It's tucked away on the bottom floor in this bigger building on the main strip downtown, so right now it's not super inviting but the staff is still very welcoming. This is a nice place. It doesn't have a clear theme though. Its decor and menu seem to broadly cover all of East Asia and Southeast Asia as well. I loved the spicy edamame for appetizer and hot sake. I love 69C tofu Chinese broccoli. I substituted regular broccoli for the Chinese broccoli. It was so yummy! The vegetable drunken noodles with tofu was ok. Didn't like the sauce. I wish they would use the same sauce as 69C for the drunken noodles. The waiter was very nice and understood my requests for substitutions. I have had wait staff in the past that didn't understand due to language barrier. I was lucky this time. In the mood for some Thai. The options weren't just Thai. To get into this place isn't just off the street. You go inside a place to get into the Thai. We were seated quickly. The server didn't speak English so they sent someone that did speak to answer my questions. I got the Pork Platter. Very unique things on this but it did taste good. The rice vinegar sauce with a scoop of rice. Wife got the Curry chicken which you get large potatoes and carrots. Chicken was very tender. Probably will go back try a few other choices. We ordered orange curry ( huge portion with potatoes and carrots and lots of chicken AND a separate bowl of white rice. This has to be one of the most delicious curry bowls in the universe. SO ROBUST and creamy!) and a chicken and egg roll vermicelli bowl ( cabbage, cilantro, carrots, noodles, the best little chopped egg rolls in the universe, and lots more. This is served cold and is SO REFRESHING!) Our glasses of water never even got close to half empty before being refilled, and out food came out so quickly. The place was clean! Interesting little Asian food place, and the entrance is inside a building with other little shops. The service was good and they were attentive to our needs. We had the Thai pork dumpling bags to start upon recommendation. They were tasty, but they are deep fried so very crunchy, not like traditional dumplings. My husband had the chicken teriyaki entree and really liked it. I had the Panang curry and it was piping hot for forever. It was pretty tasty yet quite spicy and not quite as creamy as I'm used to. They already have the dishes pre-spiced, so you're not able to choose your spice rating like at normal Thai restaurants. Stumbled on this place while shopping downtown. Was a cold, windy and rainy night and I saw the sign for Pho Thai like a beacon in the dark night! A hot bowl of soup was the perfect remedy for the miserable night. I had a little trouble finding the entrance. It's on the ground floor of a building with a few other businesses but I found it and went in. No one was at the counter so I wandered into the dining area and was greeted and sat quickly. I ordered the Vietnamese beef stew, an order of summer rolls and a Thai Ice tea. The rolls came out quick and were large and full of shrimp. The peanut sauce makes or breaks the dish and theirs was ok. Was a little sweet for me. The stew came out next and was delicious. Full of nice chunks of meat and bite size carrot. The broth was very tasty. A little sweet with a hint of lemon grass, a nod to the Thai part of pho Thai My only complaint was there was so many noodles they quickly sopped up the broth. I really really want to say I like it, and it is probably the best Thai/viet place in town (not a bragging right). Had dinner early last Friday night. Extremely poor service and food quality. Wife ordered Pineapple Fried Rice and some sushi. I ordered a chicken dish with veggies and noodles plus a side of crab rangoon. For some odd reason, my main dish is delivered to the table. Nothing else. No sushi, no crab Rangoon and no pineapple fried rice. I patiently wait and my wife's main course is eventually brought to the table. Time to eat. My wife has her fill of fried rice and we're ready to leave. My wife tells the waitress to forget about the sushi because we're finished with our meal. I remain silent about the non-existent crab Rangoon. The waitress leaves and comes back to the table with the sushi. Why wait over 30 minutes to deliver a dish that requires no cooking? It's early, they're not overly busy. My meal was very tasty and hot. Nothing to indicate the pending hell that that would eventually arrive. We ask for boxes for sushi ( which never should have been delivered), leftover chicken and veg dish, and unfinished pineapple fried rice. The bill arrives and guess what? The crab Rangoon that never arrived was included on the bill. The error was corrected and we gave the young lady a nice tip on the final bill. Later that night, I awoke with such severe abdominal pain that I honestly thought I would need emergency medical attention. I was suffering from food poisoning that didn't subside until the following evening. What a wasted Saturday! My family has been long time fans of this restaurant and my kids love the pineapple fried rice dish. I prefer my health and don't care for shoddy service so I will never dine at Pho Thai again. read more
