Amazing portions and absolutely delicious food! We has appetizers and entrees. Everything was fabulous.

One of the problems with being fortunate enough to travel to many places around the world is that eventually you become spoiled. You begin to recognize what authentic and distinctive flavors are actually supposed to taste like. And unfortunately, you also become very aware when something simply doesn't quite hit the mark. Pho Thai is quite popular in Sioux Falls and now has several locations around the city, so naturally my husband and I wanted to give it a try. Sioux Falls is still developing its international food scene compared to places like Phoenix, where we previously lived, so we are always hopeful when we hear good things about a local spot. The experience overall was unfortunately pretty underwhelming. The food wasn't terrible, but most of it felt very middle-of-the-road and lacked the distinctive flavor profiles that make Thai and Vietnamese cuisine so memorable. We tried a variety of dishes along with appetizers like the pot stickers, which were perfectly edible, but fairly generic overall. Some of the food throughout the meal seemed either slightly underdone or overdone, which made the kitchen execution feel inconsistent. The noodles themselves were fine, but again, nothing really stood out. That's honestly the recurring issue we had with most of the meal: nothing was actively offensive, but almost nothing made us excited either. It felt less like carefully crafted regional cuisine and more like food designed to play things very safely. I think if you have limited exposure to Thai or Vietnamese food, especially in smaller Midwestern cities, you may enjoy this place much more than we did. For Sioux Falls, it is probably considered one of the better available options. But for us, after experiencing truly wonderful versions of these cuisines in larger cities and abroad, this just didn't compare. Still searching for that authentic spark over here. Nonetheless, the restaurant was clean, busy, and satisfactory enough for a casual meal. Just not somewhere we'd personally rank very highly. read more

I've been ordering this since Pho Thai came to Sioux Falls and it's a 5 star dish until to my dismay, someone decided to change the chicken meat from thighs to breasts. I'm heart broken but mostly disappointed. Please bring back the thighs!! read more

The pho broth seemed to me a bit rushed and not fully removed/thinned out on the fat from the broth. The meat was good in the pho so the fat remains could have been from that. The broth still lacked something though. The pork fried spring eggrolls were just okay. Wish I would have gotten the spring rolls instead. The chicken gyozas were amazing! The staff and establishment were great, I'm a 3.5 out of 5 stars for the food. read more

Had a very delicious lunch here this week! Made no reservations but us two were seated right away. There were not many people here but that worked for us! Our server was very attentive, kind and was fast! Inside was very clean but it did have an interesting smell I couldn't tell. The menu was huge and had a lot of great options, I struggled to figure out what I wanted. I had the jalapeno chicken with steamed rice & crab Rangoon. My friend had the chicken fried rice. It was odd that they don't serve you at the same time, their food came out before mine about 5 min. Once both our foods were out, we ate. The portions were massive, we both got two meals out of them. The jalapeno chicken was SO good and had an amazing spice to it. Love love love. I'd come back for that again. The chicken fried rice looked perfect as well. My husband continues to seek Sioux Falls pho that meets his standards. I think it is safe to say we found it here at Pho Thai. The pho is stacked with meat, to the point that I've never been asked to help finish his pho. He was absolutely stoked to have such a place to go to! I ordered two different sushi rolls, both were quite tasty and filling. They have so many options that it is hard to narrow down which ones to get. I'm giving a 4 because I wasn't provided chopsticks or a dish for soy sauce until about 5-7 minutes after being served the sushi. The food here was very good. The spring rolls were very large, but they put full size shrimp inside rather than chopping it up, so it is hard to eat without making a giant mess and they almost cannot be cut with the butter knife we were given. A sharp knife should have been provided. The pho bowl is very large. They were willing to make one with tofu, which is not on the menu. The tofu isn't as silky as it probably should be for this type of soup, maybe that is why it isn't a menu item. The teriyaki chicken on a skillet was very good per my sister. My sesame chicken was very good though the sauce was very sweet. I asked for 4/10 spice but it was hardly spicy at all. Both black and white sesame seeds were on top. They give you very large bowls of rice and portions were good sized. We all had leftovers. Server was attentive and pleasant but got confused when we were ordering and missed some things so we did have to repeat the information. The orders did come out correctly. It was worth a visit. New Pho Thai on east side too off of 10th Street. I love Pho Thai...all three sites. I lived n Bangkok for three years and I finally have a restaurant where I can enjoy authentic Thai cuisine at its best! On top of that, the service was supreme. Today at the east side location,. Several of my lunch partners had questions about several items on the menu and our server was very knowledgeable and patient. It was obvious he loved his job! Definitely try Pho Thai! read more

This place was amazing! We stopped on our way to Bismarck and it did not disappoint. We eat a lot of Thai, the shrimp spring rolls were fresh and delicious. The condiments were spot on and tasty. I had the Thai Stir Fry Beef - so good. A huge portion. My hubby had the special pho and he literally said it is the best he has ever had. I tasted the broth and it was seasoned to perfection. The only downside is they didn't have Tom Kha but I can overlook that. Ha. Service was very good, polite staff and I loved seeing them clean up - no resting on their laurels. Very quaint space! Unfortunately Sioux Falls doesn't seem to have a real Thai restaurant. I avoid fusion restaurants for a reason and this place highlights that reason. I don't live here as I travel for work. But I'm in Sioux Falls fairly often. This place is close to my hotel and my favorite food is Thai so I keep coming back to find something I like. I want to like this place as the service is fantastic. This place is always busy so obviously the locals like it. But why? Do they get the Vietnamese food or do they just not know what real Thai tastes like. If it's the latter, I feel sorry for them. First time I was here, I had the Drunken Noodles. However, it was not Thai Pad Ke Mow, it's Pad Ke Ew. Similar in presentation, But their Pad Ke Ew tastes like it's missing something. Whatever that something is, it obviously what makes the dish. Their Pad Ke Ew tastes flat. Today, I decided to try their curry. I orderd Panang curry. This is a very risky move because even Thai resturaunts can make a bad curry. Well, when I received my curry dish, it came with a bowl of rice and a bowl of curry. Normally it's also served with a large plate so you can mix the two. This came with a small bread plate. They did give me a large plate on request. But the curry. It was super watery. Pretty much like a broth. Good curry should have the consistency of cheddar broccoli soup. At the very least like a hardy tomato soup. Worse yet, it had very little flavor. Most of the flavor was coming from the hot peppers. Maybe because it was so watered down. I brought the wateriness to their attention and they said they could add cornstarch. That's not right. Then it would be just as flavorless and a little gelatinous. I really want to like these guys so I'll try one more time and get basic Pad Thai. That's hard to screw up unless they forget the tamarind paste. read more
