We came here a couple of times during our trip to San Diego and it is a nice and solid pho spot. We ordered banh mi, spring roll, a rice plate, and boba during our visits. The best thing I had was the chicken rice plate. It is marinated with so much flavor and was very tender. The tofu spring rolls were just okay but was missing more varied types of veggies. The banh min had crispy and fresh bread but they put a wet sauce on the bread making it more soggy than I would have liked. I also was not a fan of the sauce either. The avocado smoothie with boba was very big and the boba was good, but they used frozen avocado so it was a little different than we were used to.
This restaurant is spacious. Has a stage in the corner for live music. We ordered our usual, always pho, wings and rice or noodle dish. Pho noodles had a choice of thick or thin noodles. We got: -Garlic butter chicken wings ($11.75)- I prefer garlic butter over fish sauce so these were tasty. Crispy and garlicky. The 7 wings were big and the price was unbeatable. -Shaken beef steak ($16.50) - this came with regular rice, I would prefer fried rice or broken rice. The seasoning for the beef was not notable. It was decent but tasted more soy sauce flavor than any other spices. -Pho Real Super Bowl ($25.50) - this came with all the bells and whistles. Included ox tail, beef, tripe, flank, tendon, beef balls, brisket. Got this with thin noodles. -Pho filet mignon ($16.50) - the filet was thin, ordered this with thick noodles. The dishes were all decent. The broth was a bit salty for me. Either salt or msg that triggered my reaction later when I get dry mouth and dying of thirst. I wouldn't get the pho again due to my sensitivity but the wings were my favorite and the rice dish is like a home cooked meal. I was vibing to the music and had to ask where they were streaming it from. Parking had no issues in this plaza.
Having made a choice to revisit Vietnamese flavors once again. So, I stopped by "Pho Real" in Lemon Grove. Really feeling the service, peaceful vibe, and food at "Pho Real". Keep up the great work.
They've been here for 6months now according to one of the waiters. The spot is huge, looks like you can a Vietnamese wedding on here! There's a stage so I'm sure they get down. Food was ok nothing made my taste Bud go crazy. I got the pho real special came with brisket tendon and all that good stuff. Kids got eggroll and banh mi. Bread was soft with a little crisp. It was pretty nice and packed. They started picking up business as we were getting ready to leave which brought joy to my heart. Always great to see our people's business thriving!

It's large, clean, modern, and there's a stage if you want to sing karaoke afterwards (j/k) ... there IS a stage but not sure what it's for. Anyway, we stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and were seated right away. We tried the short rib bowl (3/5); the broth was flavorful, but the meat wasn't quite fall-off-the-bone tender. The oxtail bowl (4/5) was the better pick, with a large, meaty portion and the same rich broth. The Vietnamese coffee was bold, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet. Overall, Pho Real has a welcoming vibe and is worth checking out if you're in the area and curious to try something new.
I was feeling a little under the weather and my husband decided to grab a few to-go orders from here recently since it's near our house --here are my thoughts: PROS -- 1. Ambiance is clean and inviting . 2. Customer service was friendly and welcoming . 3. The to-go orders are packaged neat with separate containers of each order . 4. They offered cooked or uncooked noodles and we always opt for uncoooked so we can make them fresh at home . 5. Also appreciate the fresh herbs/veggies . CONS -- 1. The uncooked noodles in my meatball pho were cut so when it came time to boil them it all turned into short noodle pieces and were really unpleasant to eat . Not sure if they thought this order was for a child lol, but I like my noodles uncut please . 2. The broth wasn't as flavorful as other pho shops in SD --it seemed too watered down and lacked depth . Overall, Pho Real has a lot of potential and with a few minor tweaks, I think it could easily become a neighborhood favorite .
Everything came out quick and piping hot! The broth was flavorful this time around! I like the flavors of the hot chili oil as well. Only thing I don't really like was the smoothie was made with powder mix so it has that dry artificial flavor. But of course we're not coming here for the watermelon smoothie!
Pho and appetizers are so good, the restaurant is very clean and nice on the inside, the service was fast. Overall a great restaurant and will definitely be coming back to try more things.
What a festive and spacious restaurant! Lots of room for seats and no crowd so you have immediate seating. I opted for the bbq pork with rice and taro bubble milk tea with extra tapioca! Must try, I ate the whole dish minus the plate ;) The cha gio fried spring rolls were really Good too! Good crisp and didn't burn the tongue. I liked the festive decorations they had during Christmastime, added some festive feel! Value for the meal were reasonable, good price for the flavor and service, I'd definitely come back to try their pho next time!

Everything had SO much flavor. Each dish was cooked to perfection. If you are in the area and craving Pho. This is the spot.
Very nice decor inside with plenty of seating, so large parties are more than welcome. You can tell a lot of thought went into the details and artwork, which gives this spot a unique, elevated feel. The pricing reflects that lol, items run a bit higher than your typical local shop. That said, when you factor in the larger menu, wide variety of bowls, huge drink selection, and even TVs for catching football, the extra +$2-$3 per bowl (vs other pho shops) feels worth it for the overall atmosphere. The staff is extremely friendly, and it clearly feels like a family owned spot where everyone genuinely wants you to have a great experience. I ordered the short rib bowl. While the beef wasn't quite fall off the bone tender (Phởnominal down south still holds that crown), the broth itself was rich and decadent. The oxtail option was excellent, they give you a massive chunk of oxtail, and I'd personally choose it over the short rib. The combo bowl is also a solid move if you want variety, you really can't go wrong with the classics. I also tried the Vietnamese iced coffee. It's more of a premade espresso style drip mixed with condensed milk and half and half rather than a traditional phin brew. Not exactly what I was craving, but still tasty leaning more creamy and sweet than bold. Parking is decent and easy, thanks to a shared lot with other low traffic restaurants and shops.
For real... this is a fairly new Vietnamese restaurant that replaced a taqueria in a Lemon Grove strip mall. There was plenty of parking in the plaza lot. The spacious interior was refurbished to reflect the South Asian culture. Only a few groups of customers were dining when I showed up for a weekend lunch. The menu booklet contained six laminated pages. From a quick scan of the prices, they looked slightly more expensive than places in central SD. From the dozen varieties of rice vermicelli noodles (bun), I selected the Grilled Shrimp and Pork version. The bowl contents besides the two proteins were lettuce, cucumber, mint, pickled carrot, daikon, scallion, bean sprouts, and roasted peanuts. A cup of fish sauce was provided on the side to pour into the vessel for more flavor. There were only three small shrimp included while the pieces of pork didn't have grilled char marks on them like I have experienced elsewhere. The service was good, and the staff kept the tables clean by frequently bussing the empty dishes and glasses. However, based on the price and quality of the food I ordered, I couldn't give more than three stars for my lunch at Pho Real.

Came here with my husband for breakfast while our car was being serviced at Toyota. Husband got P4 rare steak and flank he added oxtail as well. The broth is flavorful and the oxtail was so good and tender! I got the C6 shaken beef rice plate, the meat was so flavorful and sooooo tender! For coffee we had the salted cream iced coffee and the coconut milk iced coffee. Both hubby and I agreed the coconut milk coffee was the best! The place is clean and has so much seating and space for large family gatherings or reservations. We plan on making this a regular spot. read more

Just like everyone says the place looks great friendly staff, the food though, different story. I got the chicken like everyone says to try and first thing I was expecting the chicken to be super hot by touch, but when I touched it, it was like warm. So I took a bite out of it and was expecting crunchy sounds and but instead just a soft texture chicken skin, feels like they reheated in the microwave very sad. The pho was bland and the noodles like others say the noodle were watery. I also had a to go order and ordered the vermicelli and pork with egg rolls to go and got no egg rolls. I probably wouldn't come back, anyone that comes the decorations look great ! read more
We held our employee of the year luncheon here. As we walked in, it was a large room with lively music and retro decor. I ordered P1, rare steak on the side and extra meat balls. We also, ordered eggrolls, spring rolls, orange chicken, garlic butter chicken wing, calamari, bbq steak plate, bbq chicken plate and fried rice. The pho broth was a little too salty for me, but the appetizers were flavorful. We had 1 server for a table of 15, there was 1 other guy helping with the drinks. I wished the other 2 staff members helped bring put the food as they were just standing around. There was 1 other table other than ours. Other than that, I will definitely give a solid 4 out of 5. read more
The Pho was ABSOLUTELY delicious!! Very feeling as always and not to salty at all! My daughter enjoyed the egg rolls and the seafood shrimp pho. I had the seafood shrimp pho as well, and my lady had the brisket pho well done and she said it was good. Unfortunately it stops there. For a Saturday night, first rain in San Diego in a while it was not busy at all which I thought was going to make for more tentative service. That was not the case, the order was taken very fast which was promising. Food came out shortly after. But the service came to a complete stop when the food came (the job was done for them) we were never asked how the food was, we have to ask to have our waters refilled 2x and when it came time to pay we sat at the table with completely empty bowl for a 10-15 minutes so finally I asked for it. The decoration and ambience of this place was very well put together. The floors didn't look as clean as I'd like to see in such a nice place. Side note: the table next to us went to the bathroom and they completely cleaned off the table of food they were still hoping to come back too. The manager attempted to make it right and make the food again but didn't bring out all of the order. I really wanted to like this place! Again the taste was good but I won't be coming back here for the service anytime soon. Definitely will order out if I come back. read more

Just tried this pho place which took over the old Bollweevil spot (which later became El Cilantro). The remodel is nice and the restaurant looks bright and clean. They are still working on their liquor license. We ordered pho and tried the eggroll and spring roll combo. The soup was good. I would have liked the tendon and Tripe to be a bit more tender in my medium special combo Pho. But all in all we enjoyed all our dinner and wish the best for this business. read more
For starters, we got the 4 piece egg rolls and they were just okay. The Oxtail Pho - the broth was flavorful before putting any sauces in it. I would recommend this dish. The Chicken Rice Plate tasted more like orange chicken then your usual chicken rice plate. The location is pretty new and super spacious. They have TVs around to watch sports. The staff was friendly and pleasant. I would definitely go back for the Oxtail Pho and I would like to try more of their other dishes that they have on their menu. read more
New pho spot. The location is in a plaza amongst other restaurants. Nice decor and spacious floor plan. The food was okay - has potential. I shared the Super Bowl Pho with my son. I chose the rib with brisket and tripe. The noodle to broth ratio was off, a bit more noodles would compliment the bowl much better. The broth was okay. We also got eggrolls, spring rolls and chicken wings. The eggrolls were delicious. The spring rolls, not so much. The vermicelli noodle was hard like it hard been refrigerated and not as fresh. Also, too much noodles and lacking some vegetables. The chicken wings had good flavor but the batter was extremely too thick. Not sure what they fry it in but less batter would make them much better. My husband had the beef plate and said it was tasty and packed with flavors. Overall, we understand this is a new establishment and they did let us know they're still trying to perfect the menu. FINALLY a good pho restaurant in Lemon Grove! Their tofu veggie pho is the best I've ever had. Their milk teas are also delicious sometimes I come just for the iced coffee or winter melon milk tea. Service is great and fast. read more
Super close to home so we had to try it. I could eat pho everyday so have been really excited for this place to open. Inside it looks great. They have really put some thought into the design and I can see it being a popular spot to book a party/event. The staff (maybe owner) who served us was kind and thoughtful with our rambunctious 5 year old. The pho was delicious, just a little too sweet for me, the wings were flavorful down to the meat, which makes me happy. I'll definitely go again once things get swinging a bit, hoping the broth improves or I'll likely try some new things. read more

Me and my fiancé just came here to grab some dinner. We were warmly welcomes by the owner Tony! We ordered their Ice milk coffee (Vietnamese) and my fiancé ordered the Thai tea. His Thai tea was a bit too sweet but still good! My Vietnamese coffee was a 10/10. We ordered the Banh Mi I ordered the grilled chicken, it was so fresh and flavorful! I just wished the vegetables were more pickled. My fiancé order the roasted pork, but his was a bit chewy. But still good! We definitely want to come back to try the Pho! Been here once to dine in and it was quite busy. We always get their teas to go. Love their drinks, thai tea, Vietnamese iced coffee and their smoothies. Always made fresh. Super clean inside as well. Always very friendly as soon as we step inside. We've had their egg rolls which were very good and the phó with rare steak. Lots of veggies were provided and I really liked their broth. I also really liked their nước mắm for the egg rolls. A great addition to Lemon Grove. If you're an OG this is the old Boll Weevil. read more

Hello everyone, If you are looking to invite your family and have a great experience. Excellent service, outstanding customer experience And overall that great food ,this is the place. Drinks are awesome Mango end avocado are my favorite. One thing I really don't like ,may because I'm Hispanic but the music its like the same song every time I go there funny but not funny!!! Another restaurant has taken over the old Boll Weevil spot in Lemon Grove, and this time it's serving Vietnamese food. Of course I had to check it out. The large space has been totally transformed with well placed lighting, themed decorations, and floral touches that make it feel welcoming. Service was prompt and our food came out fast. Prices are in line with other pho places, and portions are generous. The regular-sized bowl was plenty filling. I ordered the P9 with rare beef and well-done brisket. This was my first time trying brisket in pho, and while the flavor was good, the texture wasn't for me. I'll stick with rare beef next time. Overall, solid food, quick service, and a nice addition to Lemon Grove's dining options. read more
I got the combo pho with brisket, tendons, and tripes. The portions was perfect, I even had just a couple of slices of briskets left but overall I was able to finished everything even the noodles which I'm pretty surprised about since I'm normally a small portions person. The broth was perfect--a flavorful blend with amazing aroma. It's one of the best pho broths I've had in a long time and this is coming from someone who loves pho and has had pho at many different places around the world. The service was great! The restaurant is super clean and has a modern touch to it. Great place, highly recommend. read more

It's been a struggle trying to find a really good bowl of Pho in San Diego. I can honestly say that search is now over, as Pho Real delivered on every level. The ambiance was really nice, and the menu has many options besides Pho. Still, I'd highly recommend ordering that when coming here. I ordered the Beef Pho with Brisket & Meatballs, it was so comforting and delicious. The highlight for me was the broth, they clearly know what they're doing as it didn't need a single adjustment in my opinion. Service wise they were very attentive and even gave me the meatballs for free. Overall a great experience, hope this place gets more customers as they seem to be new. Would I go again? 1. The pho soup was too salty. 2. The well done steak was too chewy compared to other Pho places. Usually, well done steak is very soft. 3. This restaurant has no attention to detail. I ordered 3 items on Door Dash, they only gave the Door Dasher 2 items. I had my refund from Door Dash for the missing food, but I rather had the food than the refund. Yes, the Door Dasher was at fault, too, for not checking the orders. However, the receipt this restaurant attached to the pick up bag only showing 2 items, so can't blame the Door Dasher completely. Im glad the 3rd noodle/order was missing though because the 2 pho orders were not good, so most likely the noodle is not good either. 4. The bag with veggies was cheap compared to other Pho places. Very little basils, probably enough for 1 bowl of Pho only. Not sure why they cheap out on this. I would not eat here again. Not sure how this is rated more than 4 stars, probably from friends and family reviews too. read more
One of the best Pho spots I have tried in San Diego! The portions are generous and the quality of meats and ingredients are very high! Staff is interactive and fun. So good that I can't wait to go back and try the Super Bowl that has everything in it! read more
New spot, Really nice inside, large open and clean. The service was pretty good, it was kind of empty inside, and we did have to flag down some of the staff when we were ready for to go boxes and to pay, but that's fine cause it did just open. They didn't have one of the menu items I was looking forward to (Vietnamese crepes), but aside that all other food items were pretty good. Prices are higher than your normal pho spot but not outrageous or anything. Portions are large so it is still a good value. The Vietnamese coffee was large and pretty good. I will be coming back again. Family friendly spot, I do recommend it. read more

One night we were looking for "something else" to eat other than our regular go-to cuisines. As we cruised by College Ave and Federal Blvd we saw a newly opened Vietnamese restaurant call Phõ Real. From the outside I could tell I wanted to give it a try. The dining area is quite large, well lit, clean with a tv showing a football game. The people were extremely friendly and we had fun interacting with them all. Big plus for me, I love happy people. I ordered the tried and true menu selection that all Vietnamese restaurants have, the #1 bowl of phõ. It was a medium and it was still large enough for me to share with my wife. We also had their version of fried wontons and fried pork rolls. All were delicious and had an interesting twist in flavor that was deliciously pleasing. You can taste the freshness in all of the food. Clean eating and flavor, mm mm!
