1/2 flavorless fresh roll & beef teriyaki
Marc L.

I'm at SMMC eating hospital food & the Dr said I could have an order of summer rolls & teriyaki. The worst fresh rolls I ever had just iceberg lettuce rice noodles & 1 piece of tasteless shrimp The teriyaki steak was not eye appealing & lacked taste. Sorry will not return. My wife said the people were nice & the inside was cute

Made a quick stop for takeout at Pho Ly. While we didn't eat in, the decor inside looked comfy and clean. The staff was kind, and very apologetic for a small error with our order. The vermicelli bowl with beef was really tasty and so we're the spring rolls. The egg rolls were piping hot even after I got them home. We'll definitely be back!

First time at Pho Ly and it did not disappoint. Ly herself was great and quick with her service! There's plenty of seating and in a great location. The pho and crab rangoons are a must order

A great new restaurant in Biddeford. The spring rolls were very fresh and the peanut sauce was delicious. I ordered a medium bowl of pho that had great flavor and enough to have left overs for tomorrow's lunch. The service was some of the best in Biddeford!

Tried out this place for lunch on their grand opening day. The space is small but clean and well laid out. The pho was familiar and it was good. The small is about 6" for medium. A few process of thinly sliced beef was good. We ordered the avocado shake and it was creamy and slightly sweet. Surprise to learn than the new owner Ly was the previous owner of Thanh Thanh in Portland before her son took over. Will be back to try out the rice dish with grilled meat.

"Large" rare steak pho.

Really disappointed with the serving sizes. I ordered two large pho and they gave half a container of pretty mid broth, and half a small box of noodles but the majority was just onions. The "steak" disappeared in my broth, still not even sure if I ate it or not. Paid 17$ for each, almost 40$ after taxes. They couldn't even give each soup it's own bag of bean sprouts either. Just one small bag to share between two soups. Not going back until the portions match the price. Taste was okay, but nothing exciting, unique, or authentic.

Flank steak and brisket pho

A very nice family owned business serving very good food. Everything was delicious including their Vietnamese iced coffee. The pork chop was very tender and tasty, the beef noodle had more protein and veggies then noodle so no complaints there and the beef in the pho was not chewy or dry even when sitting in the soup. The owner was super friendly and welcoming and we will surely be back again when we head back up to Maine.

Playa Bowls

My daughter and I went to Playa Bowls for an after dinner dessert treat. They are open until 8pm so…read morethe timing is perfect. We each tried one playa bowl. My daughter loves the Açaí Nutella bowl...she gets it very time...and I don't blame her...it is so good! I however like to try something new. This time I tried a half & half. You can get two different smoothie bases in one bowl and select any bowl topping. I tried the Nutella Bowl with half mango and half Açaí. It was so delicious! I enjoyed this so much because of the multiple flavors, and textures. The fresh fruit, the crunchy granola, and the sweet Nutella are the perfect dessert! Both the açaí and mango bases are sweet, which I love, but I could imagine pairing a less sweet base, like the banana, with a more sweet base like mango. I'll have to try that next time. Also just have to say that the bowls/toppings are exactly as shown on their website/in app...it is really amazing how the photo and the real thing match exactly. Very impressive quality control! They do have a loyalty program...which I just signed up for today (probably should have done this sooner), and a mobile app for mobile ordering. I only gone there in the evening and it has not been busy so our order was ready really fast every time, but I could see using the mobile ordering during busier times.

If you flip your smoothie upside down (the old DQ Blizzard Test) and it doesn't fall out... that's…read moremy kind of smoothie. I want it so thick that it's only very nearly impossible to suck up through a straw. Also, it can't taste only like bananas. And finally, it can't have chunks. So, so many places in Greater Portland just don't have what I'm personally looking for (creamy, flavorful, and thiiiiiiiiiiick)... but Playa Bowls does. Listen, I know they're a chain, and I know they're way too trendy for someone like me, but the smoothies are done right here. I've tried a couple: 1. Orange Power (orange, pineapple, coconut milk, sub their usual protein powder for the vanilla plant protein powder instead): It's like a creamsicle from when you were a kid! I would really like to try other smoothies, but this just keeps being my go to. Sure, it can be a little gritty from the protein powder, so if that's not something you're used to heads-up. I am, so it's barely noticeable. The 90's called and they want their summer back, and I'm here for it! 2. The Dang (banana, wheat grass powder, peanut butter, cinnamon, almond milk): I wouldn't usually order something like this, but it was so much better than I was expecting. Rich, earthy while still being subtly sweet, and really hearty for a smoothie if that makes sense. Absolutely would reorder! I think the two biggest challenges/negatives here are that a) the music can be overwhelmingly loud (if you get sensory overload, prepare yourself) and b) the wait times can be loooonnnnnnnnng. I've seen some people on other Playa Bowl listings across the country complain about the price, but here in the 207 some of you are paying $10 for two bites of an overpriced hand roll. I'd much rather pay $9 (16 ounce) to $11 (20 ounce) for a filling smoothie. And they're currently open 8am to 8pm. Where else can you get a smoothie past 4pm in Maine? Go ahead, I'll wait. #WelcomeToPineappleLand
