It's true for us Asians... we can only go so long before we need to find rice and noodles. This place was recommended to us. I was skeptical at first because of other "Asian" food I've tried in Denmark left me wanting still. When we arrived, there was a wait outside the door. In fact, every subsequent time I've come here there is a wait outside the door. That is a good sign! Reservations are recommended, but I feel this place needs a better system. You call in and if you're lucky someone will answer and put your name down. However, once you arrive you could still be waiting. They do take walk-in, you just need to be patient. Obviously based on the name, this is Hanoi style pho. It was a bowl of home for me. The soup was tasty and the beef was soft. Portions were good and I was definitely full afterwards. For a tiny hole in the wall, the pho is really good, so is the iced coffee. Service was okay. I wished I could have eaten here more than once but couldn't. The seating is horrible. There are a couple small tables right next to each other by the two windows and community style tables in the back of the restaurant. This is the type of restaurant you come if you want to quickly eat and go. Got a table by the window the first time I came in and ate. The second time I grabbed the same table, the staff asked if I had a reservation. When I said I didn't, she told me I couldn't sit at the empty table. This is a very good Vietnamese-based restaurnt located not far from Copenhagen's Central Train Station and other large businesses like Trivoli. The one thing you have got to know about this restaurant is that they are a very-very popular location. This causes problems in that, as they are located in a very small space, pretty much from the moment they open, they are very crowded. If you arrive before the masses, you will be seated at a nice table. But, be prepared, they are going to stick people at the table right next to you, which is a mere few inches away. If, however, you get there during a rush, and do not have a reservation, you will be quickly dismissed. Most of the staff here are very nice. I have encountered a couple of workers, however, who, I'm guessing due to this restaurants popularity and/or being overwhelmed, have been less than nice. My suggestion, make a reservation! At least then they will have a table waitng for you. Or, get your food to-go. In terms of food, it is very good. They make a great Pho and other traditional Vietnamese dishes. Good restaurant. You need reservations if you want to sit inside. Otherwise, you have to wait and get seated outside. It was cold and I really wanted hot soup and this hit the spot. I don't think I've seen a pho place so busy that you need reservations. At least they provide blankets for you outside. The pho still hit the spot. We literally sat next to the street. We came here for dinner one night, but the place was packed and of course like many of the smaller restaurants in town, you need to call ahead to reserve/order a table which we didn't. We decided on getting take out. What few table there were in the place, there was not much room to maneuver for the wait staff and patrons. Fortunately we were only in the restaurant for about 5 minutes to place our order. The staff was very nice and prompt. As for ambiance, the restaurant was small and they did what they could to fit as many tables as possible. The lighting was a little dark for me as I usually like to see what I am eating, but I find a lot of restaurants in Copenhagen to be a little on the dark side at night, maybe it's to save on energy. After paying we left to get some groceries a few doors down then came back about 15 minutes later and our food was ready for pick-up. The portions were decent and everything we ordered had decently good and strong flavors, but I think the Thai food in California, USA is much better and had overall better flavoring. read more

This place is recommended by my friend living in Copenhagen for long time, claiming to be the best pho place in Copenhagen. I ordered the Beef/meat ball Pho for takeout because the restaurant was super busy and no seats available. The taste is ok, similar to most best pho places in USA I've been to and still not equal to the ones I tried in Hanoi. The price is fair considering the regular expense for a proper meal in Copenhagen, but not like cheap cheap. When you are traveling in Copenhagen, if you are looking for good Pho, need warm soup in a chill night, or happen to be around this place, then try it. We were in Kopenhagen for the week and were staying in a hotel close to this restaurant. After a couple days, we were all missing noodles/Asian food. This place had excellent reviews. After eating there, I must say they were justified. The food was tasty and well presented. However, it still does not compare to ethnic food that costs far less and is tastier in NYC. It's hard to beat a simple stall in NYC that only sells noodles or Pho. And we get larger portions. Sorry for the comparison to a whole other city. LOL. Anyway, definitely a place to get Asian food if you're in the neighborhood. Don't expect it to be as cheap as NYC, and don't expect the same portions. read more

First, my boyfriend ordered Pho as take away. They forgot the soup. A simple mistake I thought at the time. Second, we were a party of four waiting for a table. They said it would be a 40 min wait. Lovely pho place that I just recently discovered in my 10 years living here. This place has different style than Pho Saigon that I was used to but that just means that I'm more into the northern style of pho than the southern style. Pho here is clearer and less "clutter" in the soup, but the broth is equally flavourful. Don't let the size of the bowl deceive you, it might be smaller than giant-assed bowls in Pho Saigon, but this place would feed you equally full. If you're not into pho, they have also other yummy things on the menu although I haven't really tried since I love pho more than anything but I promise myself that I would try next time, especially the Hanoi pancake. Short to say, I kind of regret my 10 years living here in Copenhagen without ever trying this place. The location is a stone's throw from both Central Station and Vesterport st, so it's very centrally located. I looked to Yelp for a good pho suggestion and I wasn't disappointed! The location of this restaurant is super convenient, being only 2 minutes from the main station. I was a bit dubious at first because of its touristy location but it was well presented as a family restaurant. The restaurant was simply decorated and clean and looked tidy. There was only one waiter working the restaurant floor but he was efficient and friendly so even though it got a bit busy, he looked after us well! We ordered a Vietnamese tea - nice green tea with floral tones (think chrysanthemum), summer rolls filled with prawn, pork and omelette, served with nutty hoisin sauce, one pho bo tai (classic pho with slices of beef cooked in the broth) and one pho with beef meatballs. The summer rolls were one of the best I've had as I've never tried it with omelette inside before! The pho was deceptively big as the bowl was filled with flat rice noodles. It came with fresh bean sprouts, Thai basil, coriander, mint and fresh chillies and lime. The broth was light but packed with an authentic meaty punch! I had the meatballs and they were typical Asian meatballs with a tight chewy texture - perfect if this is what you're expecting! We were so full afterwards because we couldn't help but keep eating the broth up. And even after having had so much of it, I wasn't gasping for water afterwards! There's not much you can go wrong with pho. It's a very heart warming bowl to eat when you're exhausted from all the sightseeing. Very affordable with good portions. My only complaint is that it's too packed and crowded (a bit too loud and stuffy). You can also choose to sit outside with the risk of rain. Or you can try to avoid busy hours. read more

Cheap and authentic Vietnamese cuisine. It seams fairly new. I have walked past quite a lot lately without seeing it but i happened upon it last month at lunch time. I had the best battered prawns i have had in a long time for starter and my girlfriend had some excellent spring-rolls. We both had Pho for main and it arrived with loads of vegs and herbs on the side so you could create the taste you like. Great idea but also very authentic. same way have had it served in Vietnam. The place are not that cosy, it looks like a lot of relatively modern places in asia though. The staff the day we visited are the mom and pop kind, very cosy and welcoming. Pho Bo here is very good! Most pho joints, I would add hoisin sauce to have a more flavorful broth, but not here! The broth was deep in flavor and umami! Very clean broth! Yes, like most of Europe they charge for tap water (15DKK). Get over it. This was our first meal in CPH after a super early and cold day. A nice warm bowl of pho was the perfect solution. I ordered the Pho Hanoi bo (99DKKK), it was delicious. The pho came quickly and they give you a nice tray of sprouts, herbs, etc. to customize it. We just arrived in Copenhagen cover in the wife and kids were very hungry. They want a good Chinese, but I know a good bowl of Phó will always make them feel better after a long day. I asked what the morning to drink, and I said "ice water" is fine. He said water costs money, and I said that's fine tap water is fine with me.
