Lemongrass Beef and vegetables
Lesleigh P.

We usually come here several times of winter, I'm not sure why, it's just winter food for us. It does seem the ownership has changed, and the food was still pretty good. The service was prompt and courteous, and our appetizers came out quickly. The lemon grass beef is one of my favorite dishes, alongside the pork egg rolls and the shrimp spring rolls. The shrimp spring rolls seem a little different, possibly more noodles than previously. It's an unassuming little location in a strip mall, next to Paleteria. It's quite clean, and there's usually always a table available when we come in.

Found a bug in my leftover pho. Have been a loyal customer for years. Never going back that's just too disgusting for me. Makes me second guess their back kitchen cleanliness.

Super good food. Huge bowl of soup for a nice price. Waitstaff was great. Go here with coworkers or friends. Not really a date spot.

Bun thit Nuong (it was awful)

If you are looking for traditional Vietnamese food this is not the place to come. Ordered Bun Thit nuong (Vietnamese BBQ) and got noodles, an eggroll made with mainly carrots and spam. I'm Vietnamese and spam isn't Vietnamese BBq

I came here because I needed pho and it was close. I have soup once a week back home and was out of town and had a desire for some hot soup on a hot day. The restaurant is decorated in a Vietnamese theme but it lacked the feel of authentic Vietnamese. The service was quick and nice. But the food. Being from California and having pho regularly I was not pleased. I ordered a large expecting the portion to match the bowl. Both the noodles and the meatball portion were lacking. Just a bigger bowl with more broth. Which would have been fine had the broth been good. It was not. It was warm, not piping hot like it should have been. It was almost sweet the more I ate it, but not. Tasted a lot like beef stock with minimal seasoning. Not like a labor of love that good pho is. The shrimp rolls were bland. No mint and stuffed with sprouts. Just there. Unfortunately, I will not return or recommend this to anyone who has experienced authentic pho.

We usually order from here and our last order was Horrible they now put all the meat into the pho broth. Also when you order to go they skimp you on the meat!!!! I also ordered the sweet potatoes and only got 3 shrimps and the sauce spilled/ melted because they put it with the hot fries. I also ordered extra sauce which was not in my order. Also never seen a Vietnamese restaurant run by southeast Indian people. No disrespect but this place had gone down hill. Should be smart and separate the sauces from hot contents.

No wait time! Food is always good, we come here all the time because it's close to our place. The combination pho will never miss!

I have been on the hunt for good Vietnamese food since leaving California. This place is awesome! Very affordable, and large portion sizes. I wish they had a chicken and shrimp vermicelli soup, since I was not a fan of the glass noodles, but I will happily come back and try something else. The service was quick and the ambiance was quiet.

A bit hard to find, it's back in the corner (hidden). Takes forever to place your order! The standard pho dac biet has no tripe. Pathetic!

The pho was incredibly flavorful, the broth was rich, aromatic, and clearly made with care. You can tell it's been simmering for hours because every spoonful had so much depth. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the portions were generous. I also loved how fresh all the toppings were, especially the herbs and bean sprouts. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere felt clean, cozy, and welcoming. Whether you're coming in for a quick meal or to sit and relax, it's a great spot. Definitely one of the best pho places in KC I've tried. I'll be coming back for sure!

This is a truly traditional Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Kansas City. I stopped in for lunch and found exactly what I look for in authentic cuisine. The service was straightforward and no-frills, which didn't bother me in the least; I came for the food, not small talk. The menu and execution spoke for themselves. The dining room was packed, and most of the guests were Vietnamese--a strong indicator that the food stays true to its roots. We ordered generously, and every dish delivered. The handmade egg rolls were crisp and well-seasoned, the batter-dipped sweet potato and shrimp were fried to a perfect golden brown, and the spicy pho had depth, balance, and real character. The pork chop was cooked properly with great flavor, the fried rice was clean and well-executed, and the beef and mushroom hot pot was rich and comforting without being heavy. The restaurant was very clean, extremely busy, and clearly doing something right. If you're searching for authentic Vietnamese food and a genuine culinary experience, Pho Lan is absolutely worth your time.

I attempted to order online but they shut down online ordering fairly early-it was well before closing, so I headed there to order. The individual who assisted me was friendly and the restaurant seemed very clean. They have cute decor. I did take my order to go because it was getting close to close and I didn't want to be that person. I ordered a ton of things. Eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach but I don't mind leftovers. I started with a couple of appetizers. The first being the sugarcane shrimp patties: Shrimp patties delicately wrapped around sticks of sugarcane, presenting a harmonious blend of savory seafood notes. They come three to an order and were interesting. I liked the texture of the shrimp patties and they did have a good flavor. Would I get it again? Maybe. I also tried the fried lobster balls. Those come 5 to an order and were exactly what they said-fried balls of lobster. They were also good but they have several other appetizers so I would probably opt to try a few more things out. They have Korean corn dogs and because I've never had one, I decided that needed to change. I ordered the potato half and half-half dog, half cheese. It was huge. Like way bigger than I thought. I liked the potato outside, it was crispy and tasted like a giant French fry. Lots of cheese and the dog was a dog. I don't regret getting it but I would have to be in the mood to get one again. It was fun though. My favorite item was the grilled pork croissant: butter mayo, house sauce, jalapeño, cucumber, and cilantro with pickled radish and carrot. It was so good and what I will definitely return for. The pork had great flavor, the veg was a crunchy, refreshing flavor and the croissant was so flaky and delicious. My only complaint is that it got a little soggy on the way home but I popped it in the oven and voila! First world problem solved. Highly recommend. Finally, I had to get a boba tea. I went with the mango milk tea base and added mango popping boba. It was refreshing and delicious. I like that you can really customize your drink. I had a sip of a Thai tea with brown sugar boba and that will be what I get in the future. So good. I will definitely return and I highly recommend that you try it out.

The staff is always respectful and pleasant whenever I visit. I usually bring different friends here to check it out for the first time, and they always enjoy the food and ambiance. The prices are fair depending on what you order. I like trying something new each visit, but a must-try is definitely their Banh Mi - I've had the Special Combo and the Grilled Pork. Also, don't sleep on the Combo Croissant Sandwich! Everything is fresh, though I highly recommend eating there; if you take it home, the bread can get soggy. For drinks, their boba is great. My favorites are the Lychee Strawberry Fruit Tea and the Peach Green Tea. On my most recent visit, I tried the R1: Grilled Pork Chop & Broken Rice (Cơm tấm sườn bì chả). It was a huge portion with broken rice, pork chop, shredded pork skin, meatloaf, and fresh veggies, served with house fish sauce and a side soup. Very delicious! I also tried the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer. It was more like a standard shrimp tempura; I was expecting shrimp wrapped in thin spring roll wrappers, so it was just 'okay' for me. One area for improvement is the cleanliness; the tables and bathroom could use more work and attention. Also, there were restock boxes in the front that were blocking the two big lounge seats. Overall, Paris Banh Mi is a solid place to eat and hang out, with good food for a decent price!

We did enjoy the shrimp, spring rolls, but were slightly disappointed that the peanut sauce was very watery. The menu had a good variety, but most of the dishes involved pork, very few involved chicken. Tofu dishes were also an option. The chicken pad Thai was very tasty; rather than cooking the dish to a persons heat specification, they just provide extra chili powder on the plate if you wanted to make it spicier. The main reason for the low review would be the cleanliness of the restaurant. On the table were a variety of spices and sauces in various containers, but they didn't look like they had been cleaned or changed in several uses, so we did not use or investigate to know exactly what things were.
