Honestly not a great pho restaurant, but it's not too bad. If you're craving pho, this is a decent place to go to. The serving sizes are generous. But then again, it's pho. Also, the menu isn't too expensive. The rolls are also pretty yummy. But you want to try some amazing pho, I wouldn't recommend visiting this place. Also, I didn't appreciate the waiting time for the non-pho dishes. The pho and the rolls came out at a decent time, actually a bit longer than normal pho places, but the fried tofu took forever! read more

I go to Pho Dau Bo regularly. When I'm out of town I often try other Vietnamese places and always compare them less favourably to this restaurant. It's not fancy, but it's fast, with reasonable prices, and I've never had a bad experience here with service or with food. Best Pho in KW by far and I've tried them all. I get the vermicelli with spring rolls...and a side of spring rolls :) And the coconut shakes are TDF. read more

We ordered a grilled chicken vermicelli bowl and rare beef pho. The chicken was a little on the well done side and the pho was good but nothing special. Even though it's a little further, I prefer Pho Bistro. read more

A pretty standard pho joint. I appreciate that there is a veggie section on the menu, but felt that it was lacking because there were no veggie noodle soup options. Since there are other menu items made with veggies and/or tofu, it shouldn't be hard to have a veggie soup. The veggie fresh rolls could also use more vegetables inside. Having only noodles and tofu made the rolls feel a little dry and not "fresh". read more

Love Pho! From the giant bowls the size of my torso filled with tasty broth to the tasty bowls of vermicelli and grilled lemongrass chicken, every meal in this place is tasty and made with love. It's been around for ages and is great for large groups or just a small date, he'll I've come here to eat alone as the food is that good. Like eating tasty spring rolls? Good, you'll eat so much Damon food here an intervention may be considered. Nice big portions and lots of healthy and vegan options, will always come back for more read more

Good food for a cheap price. The soup base for pho isn't overly seasoned, and the portions are of a good size. The meat is often marinated and grilled just perfectly for rice dinners. I often go here for a quick, cheap, light meal in the downtown area. The food is served quickly and readily. read more

As simple and good as you can get. Pretty cheap too. Had the classic Pho and I loved it.

It's the original Pho Dau Bo spot of the tri-city and for good reason. The simplicity and authenticity of Vietnamese cuisine is evident in each bowl of pho the joint produces. I recommend the "Pho Dac Biet" if you want a bowl that encompasses the Vietnamese culture. The prices won't be leaving your wallet empty nor your stomach. The service is typical in comparison to restaurants of the same nature, but the same owners have been working there for the past decade. You will never be disappointed at this spot. read more

One of the best pho places in KW that I've tried so far. Although I like the atmosphere at Pho Ben Thanh better, the food here is tastier and more authentic in my opinion. The service is decent too - I had a friendly conversation with one of the staff as I was waiting for my takeout order. read more

Below Average Vietnamese food. I was going give two stars just because the food was edible but then came the fish sauce with a fly swimming it. read more

by far the most disgusting pho I've had to date, every piece of meat was pure fat with large chunks of fat floating in the soup. I also had the lovely privilege of eating a piece of tripe (the lining of a cows stomach). To which the waitress replied 'it's edible'. The service sucked, and they argued with me about whether it was normal to have such fatty meat. The customer service was beyond poor. I will never return to this restaurant and would discourage anyone from going as well. No pride in serving quality food. Apparently next time we go we are to tell them what we don't want in our soup (fat, tripe...) and any other potential elements that may accidentally fall in. read more

Pho Dau Bo - Every piece of meat on this plate had an excessive amount of fat on it. There were no edible pieces of beef. - Vietnamese Near Me - Kitchener, Ontario

Service is fast and food is delicious! I eat here about once a month, and I love their pho

This chain of Pho restaurant has really been in decline in the recent years. This scenario has been played out before. Xe Lau, once the Mt. Rushmore of pho restaurants has gone down this path before. I remembered once this was my go to Pho place in the Kitchener area and also their sister location in Mississauga. Over the years, I have started notice a pretty steep decline in the quality of the food and their portions. The broth has become ever so artificial, probably from those little beef broth cubes you can buy from Vietnamese grocery stores. I know most, if not all pho restaurants use this stuff(it's like broth in a cube; a la chicken bullion) but there's a fine line when the broth starts tasting very unreal. I had an XL pho and I left the place sightly hungry; all for about $12--including tax and tip. Portion aside, what really ruined it for me was the beef. I order rare beef and brisket and what I received was maybe 3 or 4 small pieces of edible beef and an entire whole bowl of beef lard. Tiny portions, mediocre broth and lots of bad cuts of meat equals...avoid if you can but you unfortunately you don't have that many pho options in Kitchener. :( read more

Best Pho restaurant in the KW area hands down. Good food for a good price. Quick service. Lots of solid options. They should open one beside the Universities. read more

I have been eating Pho for well over 15 years now , I have had it in Calgary, and all over southern Ontario, it's my dine out dinner , cheap, good and filling. Of all the different places I have tried this place comes in a solid second , only to Pho Xian in Calgary ( i live in Guelph too far to go for a bowl of pho ) Yes the service may not be exceptional but who cares , you aren't going there to converse with the waitress are you ? No you are going there to eat. And eat you do !!! I am always full to the brim when I leave that place! Okay I am off to have a bowl now ! read more

This location of Pho Dau Bo is excellent. The service is wonderful, and the food is delicious! I am a huge fan of their spring rolls, and honestly just cannot get enough of them! The spring rolls are always crispy and delicious - definitey my favourite item. I also personally recommend their vermicelli bowls (especially those that come with the spring rolls). I really feel like Pho Dau Bo is excellent quality, especially for such affordable prices. read more

I ordered the signature pho with mixed meat. This soup base has more sodium than Ben Thanh, but the meat is better. Service was fast. I would prefer Ben Thanh over this. read more

They place is always busy. Love the atmosphere. The staff is very polite . Love their spring rolls and they make great food the prices are great. You get alot for your money love this location the best but the others are just as great. read more

This is my go to place for pho whenever I'm visiting in Kitchen, Ontario. However, I usually come here for convenience rather than taste. The food served is authentic Vietnamese food, and you will here no complaints coming from me about the taste. However, the steep price and small portions prevent this place from getting 4 stars. The service isn't too bad considering I always come here with a table of 7+, and the food comes out quickly enough. For a place like Kitchener, this is a gem of a truly Vietnamese place to eat. read more

This is probably the best place to get pho in the k-w region. The broth is just right and the service is so fast. You also can't beat the price. 6.50 for a small bowl of pho which is quite filling. read more

Pretty authentic Vietnamese place. Their pho is great and I'd go more often if there weren't other competing restaurants along the way that get my attention before getting to this one. If you're feeling like getting some good Vietnamese food around downtown, this probably is the place. read more

This is the best place in KW for pho bo (beef )! I agree with other reviewers about their other dishes not being very good... I tried the pho ga (chicken) once and it was very disappointing -- dry pieces of chicken breast served with rice noodles in a BEEF broth. But the pho bo is outstanding! read more

I've lost count on how many times I went to Pho Dau Bo in here. Not only their pho and vermicelli are tasty, their drinks are wonderful as well. Try their CHÈ BA MÀU - 3 Kinds of Bean Pudding, and specialty pho, and friend chicken vermicelli. They are awesome! read more

Pho was flavorful and nourishing. Basil super fragrant. Kids liked their non pho dishes - fresh and simple pork, fried rice and chicken with broccoli- but the pho was the best thing on menu. Supposed to fill out order yourself and bring it to counter but they will help you if you need help ordering like we did. Great lunch overall. Basement restaurant worth seeking out. read more

If you're craving pho and in the KW region, this is the place you need to go (Over Golden Turtle or Benh Tanh). The pho broth is always hot and does not taste greasy and noodles have the texture that I like. If you are looking for non-pho dishes (Why would you? It's a Vietnamese Restaurant with Pho in it's name) they are sub-par at best with an exception for the mango smoothies which is absolutely delicious. read more

My Pho of choice! Pretty much get your food right away and it taste good Excellent price point , service is whatever . All the servers are nice and straight forward not much to it and not expected After a long night of partying it's my go to place to eat! read more

Amazing food.

Still amazing soups!!!!....and now much cleaner and redesigned. Only please could you please stop the alarm beeping.

Food delivered to the table quickly, soups are good. Typical large menu that will take me a while to try each item. Good bubble tea as well. Little bit harder to get to the parking behind because of the Light Rail Train (LRT) crap that the city is putting in. But worth the drive around the block and the u-turn to get to the parking ! read more

This has been my go-to place for years when I need a quick, low cost, non-fast-food, meal. I love this place.

I love this place. Rare beef noodle soup has a wonderful broth and when you add a little sriracha sauce - now that's living.

Absolutely outstanding place. The customer service is top tier, they are polite, friendly and intrusiveness. Their food is mind blowing for the price. A huge bowl of vermicilli with 2 types of pork and a spring roll is under ten bucks (and tasty beyond my ability to describe). Their pho is beyond excellent. They also make hands down the best spring rolls anywhere. Have never had them miss an order or mix up an order, despite their being an obvious language barrier. As long as I live in K-W, I would never consider another pho place again, as those I have tried outside this one have deeply paled in comparison. If you love Vietnamese food, or even just Pho, or spring rolls, give these guys a shot. Your stomach and wallet will thank you deeply. read more

1) this food always come to us hot and timely, not cold and you end up taking it home 2) the flavours can't be beat for that price, we found the soup to have a yummy combination of layers & flavours (thank-you for introducing us to basil) 3) at $ 5.95 for a small rare beef soup is pretty good, even better when I am able to add the bean sprouts to any remaining broth that I can't finish - which then lets me setup a 2nd bowl of soup the next day. We have been trying other places to compare, and we normally give other places a second chance, which we will keep doing , but so far this place is my favorite, taking over from a Waterloo Chinese restaurant that started serving shark fin soup about two years ago. read more

The quality of this place has majorly deteriorated in the past few years that I've been here. The level of service and servers' general knowledge of their own menu is also sub-par and basic questions like whether they have pork neck on their menu were left unanswered. I used to come here for no-frills Vietnamese food but I have discovered several disturbing aspects to the food they serve: I've been here a couple of times, the most recent visit being the worst. I came here with two other friends and ordered the pho with assorted beef parts, tom yom soup, crispy spring rolls, and soup-less vermicelli bowl. Problems with the meal: 1) The dishes were generally incredibly stale; the noodles clumped up in bits and you could faintly see the shape of the container they were left in for a period of time. 2) The preserved meat that came as sides broke into small, powdery bits indicating bad preservation and possibly long periods of idling time 3) The biggest indication of poorly sourced raw materials in a restaurant is when they use IMITATION CRAB MEAT. This is applicable to any restaurant and no less to this Pho Dau Bo, when they used it in their tom yom soup. Any self-respecting restaurant would not use this in any of their dishes as it is clearly a low quality meat-replacement ingredient. 4) The tom yom soup was badly seasons, no herbs, no spices, you could see the spicy oil floating separately from the soup, which was clearly made from stock powdered base easily purchasable from supermarkets. Generally I would not have expected much from tom yom soups in restaurants because this is what most places do anyway. 5) The avocado milkshake I ordered, along with the durian milkshake and assorted red bean ice smoothie that my friends ordered were all heavy in sugar/syrup and completely destroyed the taste of the natural fruit ingredients they might not have even used. It's disappointing that the quality of this restaurant fell so much. Other than the low-price, there isn't much this place has to offer in terms of an authentic Vietnamese cuisine experience. read more

Best Pho in DTK. Got the chicken one at lunch which colleagues and it was great, service was fast.

Solid Vietnamese place. Slightly unclean? Check. Very cheap? Check. Good tasting food? Check. While I am known to nit pick about cleanliness especially when it comes to eating utensils, I still appreciate good cheap food as much as anyone. read more
