Service was super quick. The place is crowded & probably sits a max of 30 people. You order from the counter & assigned a number that is printed on your receipt. Pho-king fantastic! This place opened up a few weeks ago and I've been here 7 times since. It's just what Wilmington has been lacking and I've been dying for them to open up! Their chicken pho is my absolute favorite. The broth is complex, sweet, and spicy all at the same and condiments are always fresh. Not sure how they get their chicken so juicy. Since they are staying so busy they've been running out of pho, I've ventured out and tried both the spicy beef noodle bowl and beef stew and both are exceptional with tender meat and delicious savory flavor. We've also tried a few of the sandwiches which were unlike anything I'd tried before but really good! As a spicy lover, I particularly liked the fresh jalapeños. This place is the super simple hole in the wall kinda place that may not be instagram worthy but makes you crave it all hours of the day and night. The owners are super sweet and accommodating and try their best to go above and beyond to make everyone happy. Almost forgot to mention that the prices are super good! Pho Cafe located off Market Street is by far the best Pho in town. If you were driving down Market St and didn't know where to look you might miss it, but trust me you don't want to miss out on this amazing Pho! The only reason for 4 stars is due to the size and seating of the restaurant. It gets pretty cramped in there during lunch and dinner rushes. The banh mi was tasty! I read a previous review about lack of meat, i think it's supposed to be that way. After all it's Vietnamese and not American food. I have lived in Wilmington for almost 6 years and can't believe I haven't been here! The food is definitely the most authentic Vietnamese your going to find in the area and is all really flavorful and fresh. The interior is pretty small and you have to order at the counter, but that definitely doesn't subtract from the experience. The pho is very delicious, but the beef was a little bit over cooked, which may have been because we showed up so close to closing. I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot though and also would strongly recommend ordering a Vietnamese iced coffee! read more

Okay now this is officially the BEST veggie pho I have ever had! The broth is so delicious, and tastes like actual love and care was put into it. A lot of times when you get a vegetarian pho, the broth is very clear and flavorless. Not this pho, I was so impressed with the flavors they were able to create within the broth. The veggies in the pho were fresh and cooked to perfection! My only suggestion would be using a fried tofu rather than the steamed as it's a little more durable in the broth. Overall absolutely amazing pho, tea, and service! The place was packed service was still wonderful which was also really great to see. husband and I wanted Thai and I remember seeing this place but didn't realize it was Vietnamese. it was absolutely fantastic. we ordered the pad Thai, a chicken ginger dish #81 and chicken fried rice. everything was better than we could have ever expected. Each dish was intensely flavored. The pad Thai was perfectly spicy. The fried rice almost sweet and savory. The chicken dish was amazing. Brightly colored vegetables in a strong and delicious ginger spice sauce. Our waiter was great. He honestly said he just started working there and didn't really know the menu. I plan on returning, the prices are great for the amount of food that you get. It took a few bites for me to get used to the taste of the broth but I doctored it up with some of the sauces on the table and it was very good. The kitchen just kind of throws it together and you've got to take control of it. My boyfriend ordered shrimp pho and the shrimp was still shelled and had tails and I ordered the chicken pho and the chicken was in large chunks that I had to break up other than that everything was great including his apple drink and my green tea drink even though the little balls in the drink threw me off (which i loved when i got used to them) I wish they offered tapwater all of the drinks they have are bottled and that there was more seating but the overall experience was good read more

I've been here 3 days in a row and each day I've loved it a little bit more. The food is great and you can't beat the prices. Out of the three dishes I've had (pho ga, bahn mi ga, and bun bo hue) the bun bo hue has been my favorite. The ingredients are super fresh and the meat has been perfect. It's a small space but I've easily been able to get a table during non-peak hours. I had called ahead and ordered the bahn mi ga around noon and that was definitely the right call because it was packed. Brought my daughters here for lunch last Friday for their first time. They have had "real pho" before coming here. I've been getting these pre-packaged pho meals from Costco that are similar to ramen noodles, I would say, and the girls love those! They definitely aren't the healthiest, but are great for a quick lunch. So...I wanted them to taste "real pho" to see which one they liked better, AND...they liked Pho from Pho Cafe better. One could even say they thought it was Pho-nomenal! I got the vegetable pho, my oldest daughter got the beef pho, and my youngest got the fried egg banh mi. She liked the pho better than the banh mi, but she just had to be different. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is they forgot to enter in the banh mi order and I had to go back up to the cashier and ask about it, and then they started making it after our pho had been given to us about 5-7 minutes earlier. I am extremely floored how this place has good ratings? The only thing I can imagine is that there is not enough good competition and knowledge of asian/viet food for Wilmington patrons to truly know. Let's talk about the pho broth flavor... it's decent and not bad at all (but also not the best). It lacks a bit more kick to the authenticity -- I can't really describe it, but it has large amounts of fat/oil than normal that sits on top of the broth that makes the dish a bit more displeasing in the eyes. Let's talk about the portion size.... If you are an expert pho eater, then you will KNOW for sure this place is utterly cheap in their portion size. I only had 3-4 thin slices of meat and 4 meatballs. It's really not a lot if you compare to other pho restaurants. They barely gave you any noodles too!!! This place is really embarrassing to Vietnamese folks like myself. But I guess Wellington doesn't have much elsewhere to look for as options. I hope more Vietnamese restaurants open so that Patrons can truly see and taste what Vietnamese experience is like and it shouldn't rob you of the cost and portion sizes!!' read more

We've been lacking a Pho place in Wilmington ever since Saigon Bistro closed. Since I grew up eating pho, it's hard to really please me at a pho restaurant. It's a quaint little place on a corner, but you won't miss it if you're driving by. The menu is extensive, and they even have daily specials featuring an authentic Viet dish that may just take too much time to make on a daily basis. When I came, they had Beef Stew. I would keep an eye on those specials and you might get to try something new! The pho here is only okay. It's actually pretty pricey compared to other locations in NC. The Beef Pho is basically just Flank Steak. I added tendons to mine, which adds an upcharge. The broth tasted too simple. Pho is supposed to be complex, you should be able to taste each of the things that goes into the broth. It was honestly a little too bland. My pho noodles were undercooked. I didn't even have to eat it to know it was undercooked. Also, it bothered me that one of the workers wasn't wearing a hairnet or at least a hat while preparing the food. I appreciate the fact that we have this place in Wilmington though. I know I will come back often just because I will be craving Viet dishes that I cannot have here while at school, as I can at home. read more

Decent for a pho fix. The broth is okay, but could be better. Having to order and pay at the register makes it quicker turnaround, which is great because there's a high demand for tables!!
