This is a small restaurant that seats maybe 18-20, which includes some bar seats that face the window. There is no table service. You order at the counter and your food will be delivered to your table. I saw a lot of people do take-out. I ordered the chicken Singapore curried noodle dish. I was thinking it was like the traditional Singapore noodles, which is made with rice noodles. This was made with egg noodles. I'm not a fan of brown sauces, which this had, but it was fine. The curry was very light in flavor. There are other items on the menu I would like to try. I'm happy to know that they are opening a location in Leland where I live.

Love it, food and ambiance both are amazing. Appreciate that they have dairy free/meat free dishes as well.

I had the green curry with tofu and it was delicious! Portion size is definitely worth the dinner menu price!

I would sell plasma to be able to eat at this place 24 hours a day. The portion/price ratio is insanely good.

** I would like to note ahead of time I have been going to pho cafe for YEARS and have raved about…read moreit to all my friends and family. It's been my #1 pho spot in all of wilmington- so I am GREATLY disappointed and feel robbed** I called ahead to place an order for beef pho ( which they prep batches 8 hours ahead of time, AKA premade, not yes distributed) and bánh mì. After giving payment over the phone I realized I needed to call back to request no cilantro (or basil) due to concern for the nationwide outbreak of Cyclospora (if you haven't heard of this, please look it up and be cautious/ aware). This is a parasite linked to cilantro, basil, and bagged salads causing severe illness such as diarrhea and vomiting across the nation, starting on May 1st, 2026. So I called the restaurant back to request the accommodation, they proceeded to tell me that they "do not do accommodations or alterations". I explained to them that if they could not accommodate me, I would like a refund for my order because I no longer want the food due to not wanting to risk it (this food was going to be dropped off to my pregnant sister, moreso reason to not want to risk it!!). They responded and said they neither cannot accommodate a refund or my SIMPLE ask to remove cilantro and basil. I told them I would reach out to my bank if they cannot proceed with proper customer service and they basically hung up on me. I walked into the establishment and told them in person why I wanted the refund and informed them of the nationwide outbreak.. the woman (owner) told me that their distributor (Sysco) would give them a heads up if their cilantro was contaminated. I looked it up, and CDC has not yet been able to identify specific suppliers YET (so obviously Sysco is still a POSSIBILITY, again, that I don't want to risk). I informed the owner of my research findings and she proceeded to refuse a refund, stating "making accommodations is inconvenient and we would lose profit if we were to refund you" , even though I did not take food home with me because I no longer wanted it. Owners argued the food was already made, which I argued back that the broth is prepped HOURS ahead of time and their veggies are pre bagged, so nothing was cooked on the spot for me that wasn't already prepped. I told them being denied my refund is basically stealing my money since I am not taking food home and I continued to press for a refund. They told me they were going to call the police and asked me to leave. I got in my car and waited and called the non emergency police department to get advice on the situation. The police department told me to contact 'The Better Business Bureau East Coast ' as it was not a lawful situation. I re-entered the establishment and told them I'd be doing so as well as leaving a Facebook review. At the end of the day, I will be contacting my bank for a refund due to being DENIED one by the business. However, I do want to put it out there that Pho Cafe has HORRIBLE customer service, I am absolutely appalled. Yes, I agreed to payment, but once found out accomations could not be made, I requested a refund almost within two minutes of my order. I am human, I sometimes think to ask for accommodations after the fact. However, that does not give right for an establishment to refuse proper customer service and any flexibility to refund or even give a credit for once the outbreak is cleared if they CHOOSE to only serve their meals with cilantro and basil and CHOOSE not to accommodate other preferences. Have a nice day everyone, Pho Cafe lost AT LEAST ONE customer today. What a shame.

Very polite, went above and beyond. Ambiance: I love the restaurant. Love the art everywhere. Most of it is for sale. Beautiful Asian art pieces encased throughout. Great photo ops when not too crowded. There's a bar with seating and seats are mixture of bench and chairs throughout for various comfort. The chairs are very roomy. Food was great. My wife ordered the Vietnamese Lemongrass Chili Chicken, but unfortunately it was extremely salty, even by my standards, and I tend to enjoy saltier foods. We also ordered two cocktails that came out much sweeter than expected. It left us wondering whether some additional tasting and quality control in both the kitchen and bar could help improve consistency. That said, our server, John, was excellent throughout the evening. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely cared about our experience. When we mentioned the issue with my wife's meal, managers Jack and David both checked on us personally and worked hard to make things right. Their involvement and concern did not go unnoticed and reflected a commitment to customer service. We've visited Cafe Chinois over the years and have noticed changes since the passing of the previous owner and the family's transition into running the restaurant. The menu has evolved, and the overall atmosphere feels a little different than it once did. During our visit, there was some trash on the floor that remained for a while, suggesting that attention to detail may not be quite where it used to be. Even so, the excellent service from John, Jack, and David, along with the quality of my entrée, showed that the restaurant still has a strong foundation. With a little more consistency in the kitchen and bar, Cafe Chinois can continue to be one of Wilmington's favorite dining spots.

I was given a cup of iced water while waiting for take out which was appreciated. I was shown the newest menu they have which I've attached photos of; I purchased the bone marrow pho, a beef banh mi, a pork banh mi, and 2 vietnamese iced coffees. I'm not the biggest fan of pho, but I had to for this bone marrow dish! This is so hard to find I knew I couldn't pass it up. It was absolutely delicious and they had a great variety of meat that was all tender. I love the soft tendon it's my personal favorite! The banh mis are just as good and are THE perfect baguette texture, not too crispy and not too fluffy. Now with their coffee, I personally prefer an authentic phin drip cà phê sữa đá for the rich flavoring, as I believe this is just bottled lees coffee. It's still good, but could be better. It's amazing how much variety they have that can be difficult to find, like BÒ NÉ, as it reminds me of home in Vietnam. Overall, a great experience and I am 100% coming back to try more!

She accidentally spilled her soup and immediately helped clean it up instead of just leaving a mess. She was very respectful through the entire situation. Just a reminder that accidents happen. The issue isn't even the soup at that point, it's the lack of understanding and customer service. I also want to give Alexis credit because she handled the situation with respect and kindness the entire time, rushed to help clean up, treated the customer well, and actually tried to help her out. Alexis handled the situation way better than management did. Despite it all, the food was delicious!
