I wish Yelp did 1/2 star ratings, Because this is a solid 3 1/2 star. Had to round it up because it was more than 3. Dude that said "best pho on the planet" is either somehow affiliated with the business, or has never been to Vietnam hahaha It's Saturday around 3:00 p.m., and I am the only customer in the entire restaurant. That's typically a red flag for me, but there's so many good reviews about this place on multiple platforms. So I'll get the cons out of the way. They were out of fish sauce, they don't have chili sauce, and they don't have Thai basil! This is the very first pho place I've been to in my life that doesn't have basil. They had cilantro, and I've gotten cilantro and basil in the past so that was kind of disappointing. I ordered fresh spring rolls as an appetizer. They were so so. Not my favorite, but better than some places I've been to. I ordered the deluxe combination pho. I always try the broth, virgin before adding sauces. I will tell you this, this broth was off the chain! Man was it good! The meats were pretty good. The tendon was so tender it was like taking a bite of Jell-O. I didn't have much tripe, not really a whole whole lot of meat all together, but it wasn't like skimpy. But I did have a ton of noodles. So if you order a big bowl, you won't leave hungry. My waitress was nice and attentive, but then again it's kind of hard since I'm the only person in there! Hahaha! I only had water with lime, because they don't have lemons either, so my total was around $27 with the pho and spring roll appetizer. I've eaten Vietnamese all over the country, although this place is pretty decent, it doesn't make my top 10. Pho An is my quick fix when I'm feening for a tasty soup. It's not a fancy restaurant by any means but it's the only Vietnamese restaurant in the Florence area. The service is friendly and efficient. The portions are what you'd expect when you go to any Vietnamese restaurant and most importantly, the pho is tasty. I usually leave there with a bill of about $17.00 so it's not necessarily a cheap lunch but it's extremely satisfying. I do wish they would serve banh mi again but I don't believe it was a big hit among the locals here which is a shame because it's a delicious sandwich. Still one of my "go to" restaurants for lunch. read more

What a great place to stop and eat when passing through on i-95! Why go to McDonald's when you can have homemade broth full of love? We wanted something other than drive-through food on our way back from Washington DC to Savannah. My sister, brother-in-law, and I scheduled our departure so we would arrive at the Florence, SC eatery at its 11 am opening time. We got there at about 11:05 and the place was not yet open. We need to stretch and walk around a bit anyway. We noticed that the health department rating was an A. I'm not sure why it was posted on the front door. By about 11:15 we were seated and our drink orders were taken. The sweet tea was not overly sweet. The soup was very good, and I've been eating pho for 30 years. The broth was excellent -- clear, flavorful, and pleasantly beefy. And so HOT, which is a plus for me. I had never seen Vietnamese pho with shrimp, and I don't know how authentic it was, but my sister, who dislikes boiled chicken and beef, loved it. My soup, which contained chicken, was very good. The chicken was stringy, but I've never been to a place where it wasn't. I ordered spring and summer rolls, but summer rolls - the ones that are uncooked - where not available for some reason. The spring rolls were crispy and fresh. My brother-in-law's wings were slightly charred, slightly sweet, and to his liking. Notably, the crinkle fries pound generously on top of the wings were fried a golden brown and surprisingly tasty for frozen, bagged fries. I wanted to pick a place that was interesting to me, but would accommodate different palates. My brother-in-law is crazy about wings, but there are also plenty of rice plates with marinated in boiled meats, as well as soups and noodle dishes. We really liked this restaurant and it's friendly service. I will be back. The only slight thing is that it was very warm inside; the bathrooms were nice and cool. It looked like a an air conditioner-on-the-fritz situation, or maybe the restaurant hadn't had time to cool off. There was a small floor fan nearby so we just turned it on and kept on slurping hot soup! read more

Tired of the usual fast food choices when jumping off The interstate? Pho' An is a great place to stop while passing through. It's just off the exit of 95, adjacent to the Econo Lodge. Grab a bowl of Pho or one of the other choices. It's a healthier, fresher and tastier option. A quarter mile down, you can then go into the Krispy Kreme while the Hot Donuts sign is on. Update!!! I'm not an expert in Pho, in fact I had to Google what it even was so I can't say if it was good Pho, it was brothy, and fresh tasting. My serving had 7 full size shrimp and lots of noodles w greens not sure what were. I would say Vietnamese food is an acquired liking, being my first experience w it I am not there yet. For other beginners it's a crash course because there is no fork for noodles. There are soup spoons & chopsticks, so enjoy. My wife and I both thought our meals were ok but maybe overpriced at $13.99 a piece. The restaurant is attached to an extended stay hotel so lot of foot traffic walk up business. Menu has beer listed but the waitress says no alcohol, may want to update there. It is worth coming out for visit to see if this food is to your liking. read more

The pho here is amazing. The availability of pho here in Florence is extremely limited to the point of non existence. We used to have to go to Columbia for this food. It's very good.
