rder the vermicelli with beef and egg roll. My wife found a bug in her food. Looks like a roach. My wife was grossed out. The restaurant remove the entry from the bill, but left an impression with us. Please check your food when you eat here.

I really like the Pho Ga and the spring rolls. I haven't tried much else because the attitude of the wait staff and even the owner is horrific. I mean, if business is so good you don't need any customers then I am happy for you. However, I would suggest folks find another place to get pho. We all work way too hard for the little money we are paid to be treated as if we are a nuisance. Today the chicken in the PHO was so tough it was like shoe leather Never ever ever again!

I gave 1 because we don't have 0 star option. first of all, I want to warn everyone here, THE MENU PRICE IS THE NOT FINAL PRICE, if you pay not cash you'll pay 5% or more for ALL. And I argued this point for a while and the waiter is very rude to us. He showed very busy and called his manger and asked us to ignore the increased prices. By the way when we walked into this restaurant there's no any customer inside but we wait for more than 20 mins to get our iced water. The pho noodle is very small serving size, the beef and meat ball is very hard and the soup is very salty. Attached the bills for reference, never want to go again!

    Beef pho, terrible taste!

Came here and ordered egg-rolls and pho yesterday, whata disappointment! Skinny egg-rolls had little meat and salty. Pho was the same too salty, we sat and tried to finish our food then came small insects crawling into our dipping sauce. My husband was about to scream, I said let's finish up, leave and never return. This is the worst place in taste since I grew up eating Vietnamese food. Save your money and tummy for something better, go somewhere please. In addition, the server was like a robot...too robotic in their serving. Everything was awful including the sewer smell. I wanted to throw up thinking about this. Horrendous experience. We didn't finish our pho, we paid and left, it was over 60$ to buy bad food and bad place vibes!

Been here a couple times. Offers authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Pho is good (and probably the best you can find on the island but not better than what you could get in Houston). Catfish in clay pot (F1) is amazing. Would highly highly recommend, especially if you haven't tried it before. It's so tender and juicy, with a hot savory sauce and a huge plate of white rice. I've grown up with this dish and Pho 20 does a great job of making it. Salt and Pepper Squid on the other hand was not good. 2/5. The batter tasted like "old oil" and the squid didn't taste fresh (probably frozen if I had to guess). I also grew up with this dish so was excited to try it but was definitely let down. The fried rice is not your typical brown-with-veggies rice! Beware! It's just a yellow buttered rice and not worth the $1 upcharge in my opinion. The menu was not clear about this "fried rice" being yellow butter rice so I was highly disappointed. TLDR: good food, try the catfish clay pot, avoid the salt/pepper fried squid, fried rice isn't normal

Great vegetable pho! And the broth is veggie, which can sometimes be hard to find. Generous portions. Very quiet place with a cozy atmosphere and relaxing ambiance.

It wasn't spicy, it tasted stale and vinegar. I know what General Tso chicken tastes like.

After being a loyal customer for years even before they moved to their current location, I will not be back. To have the female manger come to our table and tell my mother not to order this plate again because she always sends it back was absolutely absurd. She kept arguing instead of accepting the fact the dish was not up to par. This was the first time she ever ordered the TSO Chicken. The sauce tasted like vinegar and tasted nothing like General TSO chicken. The chicken was soggy as if it had been sitting out and was just tossed into the sauce. The service was terrible as we were the only two diners in the restaurant until another gentleman came in I'm more than sure overheard the manager. This is not the first time the female manager has been rude. It is all over other reviews about her poor attitude.

This is the vietnamese restaurant I compare all others to. They have the best spring rolls and vermicelli bowls.

Coffee is so good. What kind of coffee do they serve?

    Cafe du mond brand.

Do they have all white meat chicken, or is it all mixed?

It's a mix with a lot of dark meat, depending on the entree.

The truth is, I didn't actually enjoy the food very much. Unfortunately, other than Panda Express, I don't think there's another Chinese restaurant here. And I would have rather had orange chicken from Panda Express than the Moo Goo Gai Pan I had for lunch at Happy Buddha. I will say this though, the service was wonderful and the building is quite interesting. Would I recommend? Nah, not really. Would I go back? Maybe, if I knew the company I was going with would be good enough for me to overlook the food.

It's the best I've ever had! Each dish has a unique taste and texture, even when they seem the same. The combos come with egg rolls, fried rice, and sweet and sour chicken or pork, which are all exceptional as well. Not only is their food delicious, but it's also healthy. The Moo Goo Gai Pan even has bamboo chutes! All the waiters a waitresses are really nice, never getting annoyed by the complications of your orders. They even let my very picky brother change out the sweet and sour chicken for soup, and the fried rice for white rice, never even a single frown or glare. Also, everything there looks so authentic! When you walk in the door, there are two happy Buddha statues; one small and gold sitting on a table, and one large on the way to the seating area. Rumor says, if you rub the large statue's belly, you get good luck! The seating places are exquisite as well. They even have a wall made of rock!

The store does have a lot of parking so you wouldn't have to worry and plenty of tables. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is that we waited 40+ minutes for our boba. To be fair, they said that the boba would take 10 minutes, but we didn't know that it would take way longer. They did apologize for taking a long time, so that was nice! Next time I come, I'll try some food, but yeah, was definitely a longer wait than we are use to for drinks.

This isn't Houston not even Chinatown, but it's bringing Poke Japanese food to the area. They do a pretty darn good job at it too. Upon walking in, I was surprised by how bright, inviting, and clean the restaurant was. Two big giant menus; one displaying savory and another sweet. The staff were very nice and provided good recommendations. I ordered the frozen matcha smoothie with oat milk, donburi with tofu and pickled vegetables. The taste of the food was fresh, I wasn't a big fan of the texture of the tofu. That threw me for a loop. They used sushi rice for the base and the broccoli was okay, a bit bland for my liking. Their special sauce was very tasty. Need to bottle that up and sell it! The pickled veggies were crisp and with well with the rice. Slightly sweet then acidic. The matcha freeze was indeed creamy from the oat milk. They have vegan milk options: oat and almond. The matcha was sweet, but nothing over the top. Matcha boba was chewy and unheard of. Clean restroom and plenty of seating areas outside the restrooms. On the television, they play Netflix cooking shows which is nice if you're into that like me. Great choice!!

There are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants in the area, but I felt Basil House deserves a go. Essentially a hole in the wall, it's located along Palmer Highway not too far from where it meets 146. The building may look small, but the interior begs to differ somewhat. This is the third time I use "Vietnamese," but what's so unique about this eatery is that it also offers Thai dishes. I decided to do both for my first visit; I ordered a Vietnamese grilled pork rice plate and Thai chicken skewers. My orders arrived at my table at the same time, which I thought was nice. Regarding the skewers, the chicken was pretty sizable. It was so tender that it came off the stick after a bite or two. I must admit it was dry, but still a nice way to start a meal. As for the main star of the show, the rice plate, I have nothing but immense love for it. The kitchen staff wasn't stingy with the amount of meat they placed on the plate. Tender just like the chicken, the grilled pork carried a sweet taste that got even better when dipped in the accompanying fish sauce. Oh, I forgot to mention the skewers and the rice plate had cucumbers, which raised the tangy factor. I capped everything off with fried banana and vanilla ice cream. A man who I assumed was the owner of the place acted as my server. He did an outstanding job, refilling my drink and giving me extra napkins. By my estimate, Basil House is the closest Vietnamese restaurant to my house. No need to travel at least ten miles if I want my fill in ice plates, spring rolls, or even pho.
