I order them to adjust the length of my pants, and I bring 4 pants for the cut, they only cut short one out of 4 pants but they took my money for all four with unfinished work. This is my second visit to this tailoring/alteration shop. It's located in the same building as Thuan Phat/Westminster Superstore. To get here easier, enter from the side entrance - literally behind Pho Vie. It's right next to the USPS operation that's also inside the same building as Thuan Phat. My issue is that the pricey dress shirts I have that I wear to work look great and all but the elbow area of the shirt seems to always develop an annoying tear/hole. Rather than toss a $75 shirt, I found this little place can actually sew sorta like a reinforced patch thing to the elbows - covering up the tears/holes and essentially giving the shirts a new leash on life. They actually make an effort to find a patch cover that somewhat matches the original texture/color of the shirt they're repairing. The elbow patches cost me $5 per sleeve. $10 to repair a otherwise $75 shirt rather than having to toss it is a great deal! What I like is how they will usually be able to repair your products by whatever time they estimate. The seamstress promised the repaired goods by 5pm today, but when I stopped by at 3pm, it was already finished. In addition to clothing repairs, they also have a tailor as well. It's a great little operation they have and they are a testament to how much equipment/stock you can store in a otherwise tiny storefront location. The prices here are cheap. The old man/owner that runs this place actually used to have a shop at the Asian Garden Mall - he's somewhat renowned for his tailoring services but I don't see him as much anymore. Semi-retired probably. The female seamstresses here are friendly and while they speak Vietnamese, one of them does speak limited English. This was a last minute call for me and I'm glad I made it. My tailor is closed on Sundays and I need a quick fix for new curtains I purchased. I needed to tailor my window curtains today. If you can speak Vietnamese, it's probably best. I had to go with my dad who do speak Vietnamese and he did all the talking for me. It's in the corner of the SF supermarket, very small. You can see the whole lot just standing there. Not the nicest place to get your clothes tailored, but I am not worried about aesthetics. If she can do a good job for a cheap price, I am down! Had to get a peach/pink maxi bridesmaid dress cut to knee length (in photos-please check!). Three layers, two are polyester chiffon, and I know those are hard to work with. And because it's three layers, it's $10 per layer = $30 for the alterations. She asked me to try it on (little curtain corner of the store), and asked me where I want it cut to, I gave her a length, and she put a little safety pin there. And that was it! Then I changed back to my original clothes. Went outside, paid (in cash). She gave me a little tag that she wrote (in Vietnamese) - "dress alternation $30.", and told me it will be ready by Wednesday (gave it to them on Saturday). My parents had to go to SF supermarket on Tuesday and saw it was already ready to pick up, so she picked it up early for me! I still had my tag she gave me, but my mom/dad was able to pick it up for me (would have been weird though if the wrong person picked it up since you apprently don't need a tag to pick it up). But she probably remembered my dad. Overall, they did a good job! I was looking at where they cut it and compared it to the original, and it looks identical! The same color stitching and same length of cut and everything! I don't get my stuff altered much, but I would come here again! read more

I've been to a couple different alteration places, but this one is the best. The prices are cheap and they do a great job. The lady (wearing glasses) that does the alterations is so sweet and kind. The turnaround time has always been within 2 days for me, even with more complicated alterations. I have had jeans and scrub pants hemmed, a two-layered dress shorten and taken in, and a turtleneck removed. None of my alterations have been more than $15. I have absolutely no complaints. Came in to get my 3 designer jeans hemmed. It's $5 to hem and cost $8 if u want to keep original line which I elected to do. This place is a little cube set up in the supermarket. The gentleman who helped me was nice but be warned they are informal with paper receipts, i.e there is none!...he just took down my Info on a piece of tape and stick it on my jeans and made me paid up front. All honor system apparently, when I asked there's no receipt? The lady jokingly said, "no receipts, we already got ur money" ...I left on blind fate that they weren't going to lose my jeans and came back next day to pick up. It worked out OK and they were quick and nice, but I probably wont use them based on informal way they do receipts. read more

So somebody decided to wait for the very last minute to get 4 pairs of pants altered on a Sunday afternoon, I am talking 2:30pm and he needed them the next day. Yay right. Thanks to Yelp, he searched and found Phi's, and hes not even going to brag about it, but I will. Located down Beach Blvd, in the Thuan Phat Supermarket, way off in a side corner, in a swapmeet style little booth and they are open till 4:00pm on Sundays. The stand, as I call it, is a little sketchy, and I was worried. The 2 man and woman operation had a couple of sewing machines snd oodles of spools of thread in a rainbow of colors. The service was okay, not super friendly to us, but hey ww arnt regulars. The job required Phi's to take in the bottom of his jeans and khaki pants from massive bootcut to about 8 inches. This job could easily be misunderstood. We didn't want skinny jeans. We just wanted the opening where the shoe is smaller, so they were not so bell bottom. Regular straight jeans dont fit his muscular legs, so he buys baggy, then alters the bottom. So we left the beasts beloved pants with a total stranger, a not so friendly stranger, putting it in fellow yelper hands and the master Phi himself. The next day, he was a happy guy, he went back to Phi's on his own and picked up his pants at noon on Monday, came home and they were perfect!! And they were only $8.00 a pair. $32.00 total paid in cash at drop off. Our go to Dry Cleaner is closed on Sundays, who normally alters the beasts pants. We found a new place thats cheaper. I only went here initially out of desperation. Honestly, it looks like a rinky-dink operation located in the same building as the Thuan Phat supermarket. If you're not Vietnamese, bring a friend that is. At least for the first time or else you might get shanked for being an outsider. My jeans got hemmed up for $3 each and it took 15 minutes. Went to buy liquor in the market and by the time I walked out they were already handing me my pantaloons. On another occasion, I needed to get my entire suit and dress shirt majorly altered for a party. They did it in a day and it was a spot on good job. Suit fit me like James Bond status and all the girls were like "whoa". They did it for dirt cheap too. The old man that runs the joint is kind of crabby but the ladies that work there are super nice and always call me handsome. I know they're lying but I still like it. Got a new batch of shirts being altered right now, I'll let you know how they turn out. To my fellow sartorialists that also Yelp, we all know how hard good, cheap tailors are to find, so let's give some love to the ones we do discover. Not too many reviews for tailors around here. I first discovered Phi tailoring when shopping at the Supermarket they are located in. i do not speak Vietnamese, but it wasn't necessary. They know enough English, and I know enough tourist sign language to communicate. Prices are very low (they print pricing), work is outstanding, and work is always done when they say it will be. Example, my husband had eight Tommy Bahama silk shirts that were now too big. I took them in hoping there was some way they could take in the sides or something. No no said Phi, he took exact measurements of my husband and cut the shirts down to size, ensuring the fit stayed true to Tammy Bahama style. Each shirt was custom fitted for less than $20, and my husband got to keep his beloved shirts. I would love to keep their shop my personal secret, but they are lovely people who work too hard for me not to share. All my friends go there now! read more

I'd come here once before, and while they weren't the friendliest peeps, they were polite enough and the prices were great. However, this last time I visited, the lady had major "whatever" attitude and was downright rude. I took a skirt to hem and was reasonably shocked when it was 3X as much as I paid for pants last time. I expressed my surprise and asked if it was the lowest price she could give me, thinking if she knocked off a couple of bucks, I'd just leave it since I was there already. Instead, she undid the pins and handed it back to me w a bitchy look on her face. I was all, "okayyyy, then.. " and walked away, shaking my head. I was a regular at this place for quite some time. Their price is unbeatable & their quality of work is decent (not amazing, but decent for the price you pay). Unfortunately, my recent encounter with them left me feeling like I will never come back again. I recently brought two pairs of jeans in to get hemmed, and I gave them another pair to use as a sample for length. When I got it back, both pairs were too long. I brought it back a couple days later (with the sample pair I gave them), and showed the woman the difference in length. She measured it, and just kept making excuses, saying it's not that much longer, and I should wash it so it shrinks. I asked her if she could redo it, and she basically said I would have to pay again if I wanted her to fix it. I didn't think that was fair at all. Why should I have to pay for the job to get done again if it wasn't done correctly in the first place? I took my jeans and told the woman that I will take it somewhere else to get fixed & they've lost a customer. The woman chuckled as if she was thinking "whatever, I don't care."
