Was assured on 12/3 by A.R. I would receive a call regarding my experience as well as on 12/4 by J.J.. As of 12/10 I have not received a call from anyone. It is clear that the front line is top notch but back of the house interactions require the patience of a saint and experience as uber driver as well as a possible licensed client to rent the uhaul shuttle for them. Philpot was hired to move someone in my neighborhood and sent a full-sized semi. The semi was too large to navigate the neighborhood's roads but rather than finding an alternate method (like parking nearby and shuttling items to the semi) like many other moving companies have done, they decided to push forward, drive through yards while performing wide turns, and tearing up parts of the neighborhood. I watched them drive through my yard, leaving a large rut. While driving down to the house they were moving to discuss it with them, I passed other much larger ruts they created. When I asked them about fixing my yard they asked to see it. They followed me back to my house and made it clear that they had no interest in fixing it and that I should just deal with it. They took down my info and promised to call me before they left but lied about that and never called. Philpot clearly doesn't care whether they tear up other peoples' property. A quick look at Google Maps could have told them that they wouldn't be able to get through the neighborhood's roads with a full sized semi. read more

Avoid Philpot Relocation. I contracted with Atlas moving for a cross-country move. Philpot was the transportation agent, providing the movers on both ends and doing the entire haul. They arrived hours late in order to unnecessarily shuttle my possessions using a second truck. The driver purports to have been unable to park the full-length truck in front of my building. I never saw him drive by, and there was only one car parked on the entire block. They clearly had no idea how to properly pack. Not only did they open sealed boxes to add items and, then, use my tape to reseal it, they packed boxes inside of furniture that is clearly incapable of holding the mass during the move. They damaged my sofa attempting to get it out the door, and ended up giving up and leaving it. After scheduling delivery, they had to reschedule for several days later, purporting to need to repair the truck more or less right in their home territory. When I asked why they couldn't just dispatch a new truck to pull the trailer the few hours to me, there was no response. When they arrived, I watch them throw my possessions around and roll wardrobe boxes end-over-end. In the middle of moving the items in, they stopped to drop the trailer so that the driver could go to the DMV. He refused to say why, but the office here is open late enough on Saturdays that he could have gone afterwards. While he was gone, the whiny helper spent more time smoking and pulling up his sagging sweatpants than actually moving my stuff. He was constantly asking where things went, when it was clearly marked on the box. When all was said and done, I had more in loss and damage claims than the cost of the move. They did thousands of dollars in property damage alone. When those claims were referred back to them by Atlas, they did nothing. To top it off, they billed me incorrectly, making up charges to match the estimate and lying about the weight. If you like slow and damaged, these are your guys. They will come up with any kind of baloney reason to take your money. I suggest that you go elsewhere. read more

If I could give these guys zero stars, I would. DO NOT USE PHILPOT FOR ANYTHING!!! I don't have the many hours it would take me to type a thorough and detailed review. I wish I looked up the other horrible reviews across multiple internet platforms before contracting with these so called moving company, but I did not. Years ago, I contracted with Atlas for an interstate move down the East Coast. Atlas did a phenomenal job at each end. So when I needed a local, intrastate move, I searched Atlas and Philpot came up as their local mover. I contracted with Philpot to pack up where we sold our home, move our household goods to their warehouse, then move our goods to a new home a few weeks later. BIGGEST REGRET EVER!!!! It turns out that Philpot's Sales Estimator did a horrible job of estimating (he missed a glass tabletop 42" table, he estimated that an "Arhaus" 53x83×3 mirror could be packed in a mattress carton (more on this later) and miscalculated other items. Btw, after the estimating visit, u never see him again so what does he care. Okay back to the $2,000+ mirror...the packers showed up the day before and looked at the mirror and stated they would NOT pack or touch at all. They stated (and I agreed), the mirror needed to be crated. Then, the movers came the next day to load the truck, they too stated the mirror needed to be crated. So then the Philpot office called to say, they were trying to save me money as the crate would be another $400+. Hmmm, let's see the mirror is $2,000. I think it's worth it for me to pay for a crate. Next issue #2 of 29 issues): the moving guys were throwing boxes marked "fragile" from the 2nd floor, down the stairs, to the 1st floor. My husband had to tell "stop!!" and can you believe these guys got an attitude?!!! Philpot sent a guy out to relieve that guy the rest of the job. But like I said too many issues to write here. Use Philpot if u want to pay a lot of money AND don't care about your household goods. I still think about suing these guys...most of our furniture was very dirty, fingerprints on upholstered dining room chairs. I've had to hire (yes, spend more money) for professional cleaning. read more

It's strange to be writing a positive review for a moving company. The Philpot team was professional from start to finish. My sales rep was knowledgeable, and the point person followed up frequently. They were moving a three bedroom to a smaller apt in Nashville. The crew packed up everything slowly and carefully. They were kind and worked well together. They arrived in Nashville in time, and it took little time for for them to unload. Nothing was broken or missing. I am very happy. read more

A week after an agent came out to give me an estimate, I still have no estimate. Two other moving companies had estimates to me within a day. No excuse for this in this day and age of ipad calculations and email. I let the company know I had not received the estimate and was told they contacted the agent, and still no response. Poor business practice. I can only imagine what happens with your shipment. read more

Worst move ever. Philpot blames Atlas for all responsibility and absolutely does not care about their clients or their belongings. They mark every item as damaged while packing, show up when ever they want and deliver partial shipments with out notice. Terrible company with no accountability. read more

I hired the company to move my personal belongings on July 17, 2017 from Georgia to Arkansas. 25 pieces of furniture/items sustained damage (broken floor lamps, dropped a brand new chaise lounge on the concrete, torn the fabric on a sofa, dented a refrigerator, scratched table tops, 9 wooden legs with screws to screw into the sofa and 2 chairs were dumped into a box without wrapping individually and subsequently all were scratched during the move, and brand new kitchen floor was scratched when taking refrigerator off of the dolly. I submitted a damage claim for the property and personal items on August 18 and the customer service to resolve or communicate the status of the claim process has been extremely poor. I was contacted by Southwest Resources to assess the damaged furniture. I needed to change the appointment due to a work meeting conflict and reached out to Stephanie Cristian to assist me with this because when I called the phone number listed on my phone, the call did not go to a voicemail. Her only response to me was that's the same number that I have. Needless to say, Southwest Resources called me on the morning that they were coming, and I had to explain to them that I attempted to change the appointment due to the conflict but was not able to get ahold of anyone. They said they would reschedule. The initial appointment was 8/29 and I had to send Stephanie and email on 9/5 to ask her when the appointment would be rescheduled. She sent me back an email - "Did you contact the repair firm"? Her response was not appreciated as Philpot and continue to feel as though they could care less that they damaged my personal belongings. The appointment was rescheduled for September 12. When the Southwest Resources technicians came to the home, they did not have the furniture legs nor the floor damages on the list of items to inspect. I sent Stephanie an email about the floor and was told they had not received the claim. I have the email with the claim submittal. I contacted Philpot the week of September 18 and spoke with Mark - Claims General Manager and expressed my frustration about the handling of the claim and significant damage to the personal property. He told me that the claim resolution would be expedited and said Stephanie would be calling me. To this day she has never called me. Southwest Resources came yesterday 10/18/17 to start repairs on furniture and look at that damaged flooring. I asked them about the tear in the sofa fabric and furniture legs. They told me they were not authorized to repair. To this day, I have never been told what is being repaired or replaced by anyone at Philpot. These are my belongings and they were damaged, yet there has been no communication from the company when I attempt to get answers. I called Philpot on 10/18/17 - spoke with a lady by the name of Mahogany and she told me she would contact Mark and asked that I give her until the end of the day yesterday to get me a response. I had asked that Mark call me back. I would like to know what is being fixed and status of the other items. These are my personal items that I entrusted with Philpot. This has been the worst moving experience ever and the claims process has been handled very poorly. They got their money for moving my undamaged belongings and now all I would like is for my belongings to be fixed to what they were before the move. The driver prior to leaving the home in GA marked that everything was damaged, scratched, dented, torn, or gouged and did not disclose that with me prior to me signing on his tablet. He even marked that a piece of patio furniture that was in an unopened box was dented, scratched, and gouged. read more
