This place is trash and is sorry, I don't get why people sale novelty food items and not do it right. I'm a foodie and when I walked in I should have walked out but I stayed and I regret every bite of it. First of the staff was dry, the cook was rude like she did not want to be at work or make Philly's. I order 2 Philly's with sweet peppers and provolone. This sandwich was dry as the Sahara and had no flavor at all. The meat was all smashed in the middle. She did not use any salt or pepper. The fries seemed dead just tasted like oil and potato. I read the reviews to which lead me to this place and I don't know what anyone is talking about the food is trash I'm mad I consumed these calories I would have been better off at Jack n the box. I bought a cheesesteak hoagie with jalapeño because it sounded good. It was seriously "blah" and the lack of lettuce and tomato darn near disappeared into what I felt was a $9.00 bread sandwich. Their too skimpy on the meat and everything else for the price. The two guys working there for some reason thought they were the sh#t. Obviously they haven't been informed they work at a "sandwich shop". Your job title does not justify a bad attitude or treating customers rudely. Soggy bread, chicken had more than one piece of either bone or hard calcium thing in it and the all Hispanic staff barley spoke the English. I didn't even finish the cheesesteak. I'll keep going across the street for a way better experience, better quality and a staff that's friendly and articulate. They also offer good coupons across the street. read more

This 3 star review is an average of 4-star sandwich and 2-star fries. The fries were warm and soft, but there was zero salt or flavor. You got salt them right out the fryer so it sticks. The sandwich although not huge nor packed full of meat (as noted in other reviews) was really tasty. I had the steak with wiz, onions, and sweet peppers, definitely worth the extra buck. I get it. It's super bowl. But how in the hell do you run out of steak for Philly cheesesteaks. I was expecting it to be busy which is why I called the day before at a non-prime hour to ask if I should place an advance order for two sandwiches. The guy said it shouldn't be a problem. When I arrived today just before the two clowns behind the counter said they weren't selling any more steaks. I explained I called ahead and was expecting no problem to get two sandwiches. They asked if I wanted to speak to the manager which I did. Again, asked how is it possible to run out of steak. Isn't this something you prepare for on a high volume day? After a little back and forth he said he could make the chicken cheesesteak. Um. No. I hadn't been to this location in forever and now I know why. The owner didn't even bother to offer a discount or whatever for a future visit. Additionally, the place was filthy especially at the counter area and my clothes reeked when I left. The sandwich I ordered was good but I had ordered cheese Fry's with the Philly steak sandwich, and had it delivered through doordash and they only gave me plain fries without cheese that I paid for. I called them to let them know and they didn't even offer a refund on the extra cheese I paid for! The food was perfect and hot, even when I took it to go and opened it at a different location!! The gal that handed me my order anticipated my need for napkins and proactively put them in the bag.. I really like their food, but I wish I could leave a negative star review for this location. I came in on 10/03/19 at 6:00pm, and I was told by the nice ladies cleaning that the 2 people scheduled to work the evening shift didn't show up, so the kitchen was closed. I figured things happen, so I didn't make a deal of it. But, I just tried to go in tonight (10/04/19) at 8:00pm, and after sitting there for 10 minutes I was told the kitchen was closed due to it being slow for the past hour. They wouldn't serve me! I've never been to an establishment with poorer service. I will not be visiting this location again, even though I live 5 minutes away. It's upsetting, because I do like their food. But, when a restaurant says they close at 9:00pm they shouldn't lock the doors until 9:00pm. If management ever changes maybe I'll be back. Until then, sayonara, Philly's Best! Surprisingly, the best part to me is the BREAD and not the meat. The meat is good, but the bread is something else! Its nice and chewy and has cornmeal on the bottom so it still has a crunch to it. Ate here twice in two days when I was in the area a couple months ago. I'm typically not a big Philly cheesesteak fan outside the East Coast, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the authenticity and taste of their cheesesteaks. Well....where do I start?!?!? So many good things to say. I visited this new establishment for lunch on it's opening day 12/8/2014 and man was I blown away. Being a native Philadelphian, one thing I have constantly struggled with is finding a good cheesesteak anywhere west of....well....Eastern Pennsylvania. I am pleased to say that my struggles have ended!!! When I first arrived I expected to be greeted with the typical Philadelphia attitude of "Order in five seconds or get in the back of the line!". However, that couldn't have been further from what actually happened. I was greeted by friendly staff who took the time to explain a few things on the menu and who didn't rush me, and who were very knowledgeable about what they had to offer. They were polite and courteous, I actually got the feeling that they were interested in my business and thankful to have it, a rarity now a days!!!! After ordering and paying for my cheesesteak, cheese fries and drink, I strolled over to the drink station where I was met with a pleasant variety of choices for drink, and also a variety of all you can eat pickles and peppers, a huge perk for me! My food was made to order and came out quickly and was piping hot! It was very delicious...from start to finish. I immediately went to Facebook and bragged to everybody how amazing it was, which triggered multiple people to go there and experience the same amazingness that I had just bragged about. The cheesesteak was hot, full of meat and cheese, and the roll was soft and chewy, just the way its supposed to be! The fries were smothered with cheese and made me think "If this is heaven, I lucked out". So...after having great service, and an amazing meal, I started looking around to figure out what was wrong. What am I missing, this place can't be that perfect. "The bathroom must be gross!" I thought. So I jumped out of my seat and ran to the bathroom....man was I disappointed when I swung open the door to the mens room and was greeted with a pleasant odor and a sparkling white toilet that was begging me to sit on it! Unfortunately I didn't have to use the toilet, but I washed my hands in comfort and said to the toilet "I'll catch you another time pal" and threw it a wink. I walked out of the bathroom and went to leave and stopped at the counter to ask to talk to the manager. I was greeted by a smiling and cheerful woman named Delilah and I thanked her for what I could only describe as the BEST experience I've had in a long time (see what I did there, BEST....get it....Philly's Best....eh eh). I was hungry and decided to stop at a plaza (Ocean View) coming from San Diego to get something to eat. I haven't had Philly Cheesesteak in years so I decided to try this place. I believe they just opened...the atmosphere was really pleasant. I ordered a plain Philly Cheese steak (I like my sandwiches plain) and I have to tell you it was one of juiciest cheesesteaks I've had. I was in a hurry so I ate my sandwich pretty fast...but I enjoyed every single bite of it. I'm really glad I stopped and chose to eat here, the food definitely hit the spot. Phillys best was way good! They have some awesome sweet peppers they put on it, which really calls out the different flavors. They do add a lot of onion, but scrape it off, cause the flavor of the onion and the meat is all you need... Really good, made fresh in about 3-5 min!! read more
