It has so much character and the architecture is gorgeous. Perfect for an elegant, black-tie wedding. The first day we met with Chelsea who was bubbly, personable, and professional. She made sure everything went smoothly with negotiations and the contract. From then on, she did a fantastic job with communication throughout the next year leading up to wedding day (we missed her on the night of our wedding, unfortunately!). I really love how cocktail hour is on the 2nd floor overlooking the rest of the venue -- it makes for great views and great pictures. The venue comfortably held and accommodated our 125 guests. The food was also fantastic. I've had some pretty below average and mediocre food at weddings, but not here. For cocktail hour, Finley Catering offers 8 passed Hors d'Oeuvres (the steak tartare and lamb chops were the star of the show in my opinion!) and 3 stations (we went with a hot seafood station, a cold seafood station, and an Italian station). The offerings that came with each station were great and had remarkable variety. Lobster tail, crab claws, oysters, to name a few! The filet mignon entree was also one of the better filets I've had. Throughout the night we were treated so well by every single employee we encountered. Everyone that was working at Union Trust was respectful, gracious, professional, and would go out of their way to make us or our guests happy. From the night of our wedding still to this day, we had and still have friends and family members coming to us telling us how much fun they had. Comments to us about how beautiful the venue was and how spectacular the food was were common coming from our guests. I keep telling my wife to convince someone to get married at Union Trust so I can experience a wedding here as a guest. I couldn't have imagined a better day and much of that is thanks to not only my wife for all of her meticulous planning, but also to Union Trust and Finley Catering for being such an incredible venue. I am so happy and thankful we toured Union Trust and made the decision to have our wedding.

The reason for my four stars are the bathrooms. The indoor restroom was located on the lower level with a very very long and steep staircase. The Down Town Club is located inside a very large building in Old City and takes up at least one floor. Once you're out of the elevator you are greeted by a giant glass table and a centerpiece. For the wedding, this table was used to hold the place cards, which informed you of the the table you would be seating at. Behind that table is a large hall with a few tables, a bar and some counters, which can be used to plate food and serve horderves. I suppose it could also be used as a simple waiting area. There is also a piano located i that area, which can be used to play some live music. The horderves, which were served were top notch. Some of my favorites included the lamb chops, lobster, shrimp and ravioli. I also loved how they had a full sushi bar along with some other traditional Japanese options including ahi tuna. The dinner and dessert was great as well. The dressing on the salad was very tasty and the filet minion was perfectly done. The dessert options here were out of the world. Mini-cupcakes, cannolis, funnel cake and more were all provided and they were all very delicious. The view of Independence Hall is absolutely spectacular as well. The Ball Room wasn't giant, but it easily held over 200 people without as if the room was, too crowded. The ball room was also quickly transformed from hosting the wedding ceremony towards become a place to hold a fun party. While I didn't use it, valet parking was available, which was a nice touch. Altogether, the Down Town Club is a very nice space to hold a variety of events including weddings!

I thought I was just going out to eat with some friends last Friday night but little did I know…read morethat for the past 6 months, my wife was planning a surprise 40th birthday party for me. On our walk to the restaurant I thought I was going to, we stopped inside Songbird to "find out party information". I was led back to the large back room which was dark and quiet. It was opened for me, the lights were turned on and about 40 of family members and friends that I love yelled SURPRISE!!! For about the next 3 hours, there was singing, laughing, speeches, cake and to be honest, one of my favorite nights of my life. Thank you Songbird for being a big part of this wonderful celebration!

Anywho, that is how the night started off. The Hor-devas were laid out in a way that an entire level of food was so high up on shelves people either didn't even see it or couldn't reach it. Btw, I am close to six feet tall, and I couldn't see the food. Now for the positive, they had ample amounts of food and on there website it even says its all inclusive so you do not have to pay for x amount of refills I am assuming which is very nice. I even recall during the cocktail hour I was wondering this fact as the refills were plentiful. Now, the big shitshow of the night was the seating. I don't think I can put this on the venue however as I legit couldn't find a seat for myself at one of the tables! This is why you should have placement cards like at a wedding. My gf and I left as soon as the dinner buffet was set up as I am not pulling up a chair to a table without a freaking plate setting. Also, I must mention the music was extremely loud.
