My gf and I show up for a Bat Mitzvah for my cousin's kid. We arrive approximately five minutes or so late and one of the ushers says they are not letting any more people in lol. Luckly, another usher corrected her and said they are still letting people in, can you freaking imagine if they just turned people away that traveled hours away to attend? I get if even if you arrive late to say a baseball game the stadium security guard will wait for a pause in action to let you in but to be this mis trained when you're primarily function is to let people into the event just wow. Anywho, that is how the night started off. The Hor-devas were laid out in a way that an entire level of food was so high up on shelves people either didn't even see it or couldn't reach it. Btw, I am close to six feet tall, and I couldn't see the food. Now for the positive, they had ample amounts of food and on there website it even says its all inclusive so you do not have to pay for x amount of refills I am assuming which is very nice. I even recall during the cocktail hour I was wondering this fact as the refills were plentiful. Now, the big shitshow of the night was the seating. I don't think I can put this on the venue however as I legit couldn't find a seat for myself at one of the tables! This is why you should have placement cards like at a wedding. My gf and I left as soon as the dinner buffet was set up as I am not pulling up a chair to a table without a freaking plate setting. Also, I must mention the music was extremely loud. My gf had to put freaking ear plugs in. Very disappointing night but again I can't put all of the blame on the facility. I hope my cousin and his family enjoyed their night as I know I didn't. Cescaphe is classy to a T. I was "wow'ed" by their opulent interior when I walked in. They have a huge solid bar on the ballroom floor, an adjoining room for mixers, and high ceilings. It's a wonderful, versatile space perfect for any formal or semi-formal event. My friends had their wedding reception here, and I got to enjoy the fruits of their selection. All the staff, from the wait staff (thanks Rosie!), to the valets, to the in-house caterers (the food was amazing - thanks grill guy!), to the bartenders (thanks Mike and Tim, Mike especially for sharing a new drink recipe), were exceedingly professional, helpful, and not condescending at all. The free valet parking is a nice touch, since Northern Liberties doesn't always have a parking spot when you need it. If I was getting married tomorrow (assuming I didn't invite an absurd number of guests), I'd want my reception to be here. (Hey, if my guests get bored, North Bowl is next door!) So this will be a review of the consumer side of Cescaphe Ballroom - I had my wedding here September 2016 (almost a year ago!) and every bit of working with Cescaphe was wonderful! During our wedding, we were able to taste a FEW things (I can't remember, but I think we had a few other things to do that day...?), all of which were delicious! From the initial tour of facilities, talking with planners, emailing back-and-forth, and nailing down specifics, everyone was beyond nice! From our event coordinator to maitre d', everyone went above and beyond their duties to ensure we had a flawless experience. Would absolutely recommend this event group! In addition, the ballroom itself is beautiful, the space is plentiful, and the accents are in great taste. In terms of options for what's available in the wedding package - there are endless choices during menu selection, drink options, cake flavors and decorations, and decor. All of my vendors also indicated enjoying working with Cescaphe Ballroom due to their prompt response to email/phone calls, and professionally. My only desire: to be able to go back and be a guest at our own wedding!! read more

Attended a wedding reception at the cescaphe ballroom and was blown away! Hands down, this was my favorite wedding reception I've been to thus far! The atmosphere is beautiful and elegant but not cheesy or overdone. We entered through a quaint patio with a bar, butlered hors d'oeuvres, and a grilling station with other fresh bites! The patio is covered so it's not too hot even on a nice spring day. Friends and I were enjoying this amazing cocktail hour and were surprised to learn there was an even bigger spread of apps inside! Inside, you enter a cocktail hour room with a bar and the most outrageous display of food imaginable! Sushi, pasta, dumplings, cheeses, lobster tails, oysters....I could go on and on! Despite the mass quantity of food, the quality of everything I tried was absolutely delicious. The cocktail room opens down into the ballroom half a flight of stairs below. The ballroom was the perfect size for this wedding of 175 guests - it felt intimate and comfortable, yet not at all over crowded. The main ballroom had one large bar with several bartenders, but the cocktail hour bar also remained open, so you never had to wait long for a fresh drink! The service was great! The bartenders were friendly and helpful, even crafting a unique cocktail of the night for us to enjoy! The wait staff was attentive and courteous as well. The food was out of this world! I love the idea that you can place your entree order at the event and not in advance! I was lucky enough to sample all three entrees - the filet mignon was cooked to order, tender and tasty, the rack of lamb was also tender and delicious, but my absolute favorite was the sea bass - it was so fresh and light, I highly recommend that option. The desserts were displayed in the cocktail hour room and again the spread was unbelievable. We had a breakfast bar as part of the dessert section, which although seemed fun, was a little too much for me after enjoying all of the apps and food! While I can't completely speak for the bride and groom's experience, I can say that from what I saw, the venue ones out of their way to really make it an unforgettable night. The couple as well as their family get samplers of all three entrees, which I loved. In addition , the venue packs the bride and groom a full portion of all three to take home along with dessert for later in the evening! With such a busy night of dancing, I know this bride and groom really appreciated getting to enjoy round two of dinner later that evening! Overall, this was an amazing wedding reception! Been here for a couple of events now. The latest being a wedding that was to the nines. We were offered a drink when we arrived with the valet parking. It really is the only way to park as Northern Liberties can get crowded on weekends. The ceremony was right inside and as soon as it was done, we were ushered to the upstairs area for the cocktail hour. I hear that for food options, you only get one option, and that it is all or nothing. The spread was nothing short of spectacular! Crab legs, lobster tails, the entire wall was lined with goodies during the cocktail hour. By the time dinner came around (which was back down where the ceremony was, now completely transformed, I was pretty stuffed, but the steak they presented was amazing as well. Truly a top notch establishment. To end it, dessert was amazing. Again, the entire wall was lined and there was everything imaginable! Wish I could do this every weekend! read more

A cocktail area on the top area that overlooks the main dining room area. What a beautiful, sophisticated, and classy ballroom! They have a wonderful outside patio with a bar, plants, and heat lamps. They have a nice foyer for guests to enter into. They have an opulent reception room with french doors onto the ballroom. The reception area has a nice bar, cocktail tables, and a place for buffet hors d'oeuvres. My partner and I were honored to join Variety Charities, Table 13 at their Initiates Dinner last night. Food - The hors d'oeuvres in the reception room were numerous enough to be a meal in and of themselves. There were carved roasts, bountiful cheese platters, mounds of shrimp, decadent olives and roasted peppers, and a large assortment of fruits. That was all just for the cocktail hour. The food in the ballroom was both eclectic and scrumptious! They served a variety of carved roasts, made to order cheese steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs, french fries, onion rings, broccoli rabe, cheese tortellini in alfredo, chocolate lava cakes, and a sampling of tastee cakes! Ok... So the food in the main dining room was specifically for the event - Variety Charities which works with children with disabilities, and the menu could not have been more perfect for these kids! All of the kids who were in attendance were amazing as well! Cocktails - Potent, top shelf, open bar... Need I say more?! I punked out and only had two drinks, but they were quite tasty. Music - The band, who I need to get the name of, were really good! They did covers of 70s and 80s songs, and they were great! I was waiting for Rock Lobster, but was happy with Dancing Queen! I have been to two weddings here and two at the other facility. Because of availability it seems like all the weddings are on Fridays (aka fighting rush hour to get it it). There is valet parking for guests plus drinks start early in case you get there before the reception. Positives: some indoor and outdoor space for cocktail hour. We all liked our food and there was an abundance of it (almost too much. I can't imagine how much gets wasted). The rice was amazing. I still remember it from the first wedding I was at a couple of years ago. The ballroom is beautifully decorated. Negatives: unbelievably loud. Even sitting next to my husband I had to shout. This was the same for both weddings here so I'm not sure it's just the band's fault. The courses are very spread out. We had our salad at 8:30, entree at 10:30, and cake at midnight. Who wants a full entree at 10:30 at night? Because of this, everyone was always up and down as far as dancing. As a guest I do not look forward to coming here. read more

I attended a wedding here a couple weeks ago, and was really impressed. From the moment we arrived, with free valet parking (thank goodness cuz it's a nightmare of small one-way streets all around...) to the end of the amazing night, everything was really fantastic. I could NOT believe the amount of FOOD! The "cocktail hour" was seriously over the top, so many foods to try, a raw bar, amazing bites, and the bride and groom's "Signature cocktails" being passed around, it was really almost overwhelming. After stuffing my face with every bit of seafood I could fine, and sampling many of the other tasty appetizers, we were led down the stairway into the grand ballroom, which had a floor to ceiling bar that was absolutely gorgeous. The tables were set beautifully, and the wait staff was very attentive. Dessert was another huge display of every kind of dessert imagineable, and on the way home, we had a "thank you" bag with the wedding cake inside. My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding reception at the Cescaphe Ballroom in October 2016 and everything was absolute perfection! The food throughout the entire evening was amazing and abundant, the drinks were marvelous and the atmosphere was so romantic. Robert, their maitre'd, was professional and handled all of the details throughout the night so the couple could enjoy their event to the fullest. People still tell me that it was the best wedding they've ever been to.... Fast forward to July 2017 and another family wedding, this time held at the Atrium at the Curtis Center. Another beautiful venue, top notch food and drink, and this couple was fortunate enough to have Robert as their maitre'd. Cescaphe Events needs to know what an asset that have in this employee - I recommend Cescaphe to everyone and always tell them that they must request Robert. I have been there recently, and Cescaphe Ballroom is a wonderful place for a wedding. The food that was served during cocktail hours was unbelievable and plenty full. Venue was decorated fantastic, and desserts were out of this world. Dinner serves was very nice, except for the sea bass that was offered, very fishy tasting, did not eat, had half of my husbands filet instead, this was disappointing. Also, the bathroom situation on the main floor, really needs to be fixed. they were out of order most of the night and the elderly had to walk up steps in order to use the restrooms. I just got home from a wedding here and had to write a review while its still fresh...lol. First off, we pull up and they have Valet and its free!!!! Has to be the only place in Philly that its free to park!!! We get inside and OMG, place is BANGING!!!! Beautiful Bar and lobby area for a reception, which that was happening when we got there. Yep, we arrived late, but that was my wife's fault. Surely not mine. Lol. Anyways, they had great appetizers laid out and it wasnt ur regular wedding BS. They had sushi, and the waiters were bringing around all these different little things. Not sure what they were but they looked great! When we got upstairs that blew away the downstairs!!! Place has a really cool, trendy look to it!!! See the pics I posted. Up there we had dinner and spent the rest of the night. I had Chilean Sea Bass, and my wife had some chicken thing....BOTH WERE BANGING!!! We both opted to NOT have the Filet bc they're usually dry and not good in a place like that. If you are looking for a venue in Philly to host an event, look no further! We held our wedding here (June 2014) and I have not one complaint from the entire team of Cescaphe Event Group. Their flawless service runs from the food all the way to the waiters, bartenders, and back of the house. They have recently renovated (January) and pushed this venue to be above its class. The ballroom is exactly how you picture it would be in a movie. Make sure you see the newly renovated pictures to see the difference (After January 2014). From day one, they kept communication clear, answered all questions, and made sure to cater to our every demand, which was extensive. Bree, our Event Manager, was beyond helpful. Cescaphe falls nothing short of perfection. We had over 30 hot Hors d'oeuvre, an ice sculpture (your choice design) seafood station, and amazing desert spread - all included. The food is extensive and have heard from others (since my opinion is biased) it has been one of the best venues they've ever attended. Highlights: - Fireworks when Bride and Groom enter is a MUST! - Uplighting is important. Don't fall short in this aspect. -Birdcage (for gifts) was a great addition. -Valet is mandated and necessary. I would like to end my review by telling you to trust Cescaphe and do not worry about anything. I just attended my friends wedding here over the weekend and it was by far the most amazing and beautiful venue I have ever been to! It is located in Northern Liberties and in a nice fun part of the city. I was part of the bridal party so I was able to go up to bridal suite which had plenty of appetizers and drinks for the party. For cocktail hour they had such a large variety of appetizers (everything from shrimp, crab meat, lobster tails, crab legs, cheese trays,...and sooooo much more!!!) and open bar that included everything that they had available. I order steak for my dinner which was cooked perfectly and just the way I had ordered it. After dinner they had another buffet outside in the cocktail area with endless desserts! Anything that you wanted they had available and all of the food was delicious. There was endless choices during menu selection, drink options, and cake flavors, etc. The service, atmosphere, and food was spectacular! The seating area was comfortable and the dance floor was large. There was about 250+ guests at the wedding and plenty of room for everyone. They also had a breakfast buffet towards the end of the night that had once again anything you could think of from (bacon, sausage, omelette station, waffle station, pancakes, funnel cake, eggs, and sooo much more)!! Funnest and richest place- the only party place with the bestest food ive ever eaten!

Went here last night for a wedding and it was absolutely unbelievable. Right when you walked in to the right they had a grill cooking up filet skewers, lamb chops, shrimp on a stick, chicken on a stick, fresh guacamole and more. The waiters walked around with all kinds of goodies ranging from beef wellington to ham infused clams! As we entered the hall upstairs we were greeted with a sushi bar, fresh grilled veggies of every variety, lobster tails, JUMBO jumbo shrimp, giant crab claws, and so much hot food. These were all just the hor' doeorves. The dinner was a choice between a bacon wrapped filet, salmon, or lamb. I went with the filet which had a little too much sauce on it. I didn't care because I was so utterly full from the food before that I could barely finish the steak anyway. The desserts were the same as the appetizers; there were infinite amounts to choose from. They had banana fosters, carrot cake, mini cannolis, cheesecake, turtle cake, multiple chocolate cakes, a chocolate fountain and much, much more. The best part was the quality of most of the food was out of this world, especially being mass produced. The only negatives were the bartenders in the main hall. My girlfriend's family is a short bunch so all the girls were getting ID multiple times and getting refused for having the vertical NJ license. (For those not familiar, if you get the license before your 21 it's vertical and obviously now the girl is 21 but the license hasn't expired yet for her to get a new one) This is an absolutely great place for a reception or any large event. The staff was mostly friendly, attentive and helpful. The decor was classy without being pretentious and of course, the food was out of this world. Best wedding I have ever been to! read more

Went to this venue for a wedding and it was overall a very great experience. The wait staff during the event was courteous and prompt. The food was also very good. There was a plethora of different tasty appetizers and desserts served throughout the evening. Additionally, the main course was elected table side which has been a disaster at prior weddings I have attended but at Cescaphe that could not be further from the truth. I ordered the fillet and it was done to the temperature requested and it was delicious. The only poor experience I can speak to at this venue is with the bar staff. While the bar staff was very quick, they seemed to be watering down the drinks. For example, my drink of choice is scotch typically and I noticed that when I would ask for it on the rocks instead of neat they would pull it from a different bottle even though I was drinking the same type of scotch. And when I received the scotch over ice, it was bland and tasteless. Another party I was with was drinking long island iced teas and he noted that the drinks tasted sugary and lacked flavor as well. Several others I was with also noted similar experiences with mixed drinks as well. Overall, I'd still give 4 stars because the food and waitstaff was so good but just stay away from mixed drinks and stick to beer. read more

As a vendor I was peeved and disappointed by a NUMBER of aspects of this place. The staff was annoying, made every attempt to make our lives difficult by having us move our gear all over the ballroom no less than 4 times to accommodate them, while trying to do our job. The Maitre D' seemed to have a bug up his ass the entire night. While the food seemed to be just OK...not this raving sensation I'm seeing in the other reviews, the service was lacking in both attitude, number and definitely in customer service ability. I cannot believe the outstanding reviews I'm seeing. I DO believe the couple was treated well, which of course was most important overall...and maybe the people posting were the bride and groom, so I'm glad THEIR night was good - but behind the scenes, seriously...this place needs REAL HELP. I went to a wedding here in January. Nice space and the wedding was well run. My issue is with what has happened in the time since. During my meal. the waiter spilled sauce from my meal on my tux as he was serving me. Honest mistake, I did not make a big deal of it at the time. The waiter was apologetic and did his best to clean things up. Prior to the wedding, I felt that it was time to invest in a proper tuxedo so spent over $500 to get one of my own. Even after being spilled on, I didn't make a fuss, I assumed with a dark navy jacket and pants, that the stain would come out. I get back home to NYC and drop it off at the dry-cleaners, when I pick up the tux, the stain is still there, even though I had alerted the cleaners to try and get it out. These are good cleaners that I have used for years. At this point, I contact Cescaphe directly and alert them to what has happened. They assure me that they will take care of it. They say that they need to try and clean the stain before buying me a new tux, which is obviously fair enough. They ask for my address so they can send me a pre-paid shipping label to I can mail them back the tux. A few weeks pass, I still haven't received the label. I call them up directly and inquire as to what is going on. I have another wedding to go to and I need a tux to wear for it. I am frustrated as it has already been more than a month and I am still stuck with a stained tux that I paid more than $500 for and was only able to wear once. I speak with them and they are sticking with their need to try and clean the tuxedo first. I would be more understanding if not for the fact that they had a month and failed to do anything during this time. I was also in need of moving quickly because I needed another tuxedo to wear for the upcoming wedding. What particularly irked me was their representative insinuating that I was lying when I said I didn't receive the prepaid shipping label (which I never did). Their representative asks for my email address so she can email me a FedEx label. Decide to give them one last chance to fix it. It has been a couple weeks now, I still don't have a prepaid label so am stuck with my stained tuxedo that I was only able to wear one time. In 2 days, it will mark the 2 month anniversary since my tuxedo was stained and I am no closer to getting it fixed. In that time, I have found them to clearly be unhelpful. I have also found them to be rude and inconsiderate of circumstances, when I think I have been patient and understanding of mistakes and processes. This was a nice venue, but they have proven to me that they do not care about their guests. read more

There was a literal shelf of shrimp... plus lobster tails, mussels, clams, crabmeat in pineapple bowls, and fried soft shell crabs. There was sushi, there was a hibachi, there was shumai. And that's just a fraction of all the food selection that was there. One bartender was excellent, and one was terrible. My only complaint was the dancing was quite cramped. read more

from beginning to end, this place outdoes itself! i don't know if it's possible to ever top such an event. granted, i'm slightly bias since i think the bride of the evening lit the room up completely. the food is kind of on the ridiculous side. IN SUCH A GOOD, GOOD, GOOD way. cocktail hour was incredible. i don't think i ever shoveled food into my mouth faster in my entire life. i was told to bring tupperware, and i really wish i would have! people keep mentioning all these different things that i {sadly} missed out on. for dinner, i ordered a chicken dish and it was so yummy. it definitely put me into a food coma! and then the dessert. oh the dessert! since i was too busy dancing, i only quickly grabbed a mini funnel cake. which was so GOOD! but i hear the chocolate fountain and banana foster were also really tasty. again, this is where ziplock bags would have come in handy! the bartenders were friendly and helpful and kept the drinks flowing! on top of the wonders cescaphe did for my tastebuds, the staff and coordinator my friend had for her wedding were so wonderful! they really seem to put their heart into making the night the best ever for their bride and groom. which is exactly how it should be. i was pretty bummed for the night to come to an end! {if i could give 6 stars, i would} read more

We were first lucky enough to be invited to a wedding hosted by Cescaphe Tendenza and the next morning my future wife said we have to have our ceremony at Cesaphe (any of them!). Fast forward two years and we had our wedding reception at Cescaphe Ballroom in June 2015. It sounds so "corny" but this was the wedding of our dreams. The details from start to finish were simply astonishing, the staff was amazing (Mike-Maitre d' & Renee- Event Planner were the MVPs our special day) and the venue was remarkable! Wow. Went to a wedding here and it was legit the classiest wedding I've ever been to. Ever. The ballroom is awesomely impressive -- it is huge, bright, very modern windows, tables and fixtures, beautiful chandeliers, and a massive bar with bottles so high up you wonder how they get them up there. And the FOOD. I've never seen a spread like this. Ever. The appetizers were beautifully spread out; they looked so nice you kind of didn't want to touch them! They consisted of oysters, shrimps, lobster, king crab legs, meats, cheeses, fruit, lamb shanks, sausages, sushi...and I'm STILL forgetting some! It was absurd. For entrees, the choices were a Filet, Salmon Oscar, or Chicken. I tried the Salmon and the Filet and both were delicious and served with fresh garlicy sauteed veggies and risotto. They even served cherry sorbet in between courses, as a palette cleanser. And then dessert - a massive spread of pastries, cakes, puddings, pies, cannoli's...and to top it off, around midnight...they served BREAKFAST..!! Sausage gravy, biscuits, bacon, scrapple, FUNNEL CAKE, waffles, omelettes...I can't stress enough that I've never seen food like this at a wedding, or any event really. It got to the point where we couldn't drink anymore cause we were all so stuffed and they just kept bringing more food out. Unreal. I attended a wedding yesterday at this location and was not disappointed! The food was amazing. Starting from cocktail hour, to our main dinner menu everything we tried was fantastic. The service was even better. All employees were attentive and kept asking if we found everything okay. I must say I was very impressed with the way they treated the bride and groom in particular, because they made sure they catered to their every need. I'm not really sure how to describe my daughters Wedding at the Cescaphe.....other rhan a true ":fairy tale" wedding. The venue,,,,the staff,,,,the food,,,,just everything was perfect...add in the Dreamtime Band and the Cescaphe Ballroom rocked.....everyone had a great time....no one wanted to see the party end....my 87 year old father was still on the dance floor at midnight!!!!!!! It was just wonderful and getting the feed back from guests and family members that it was the "BEST" wedding they ever attended was just heart warming. Where do I start? Well, I guess it starts over 10 years ago when my husband & I first attended our niece's reception at Cescaphe Ballroom. We never saw anything like it & we have been to many venues in the tri-stare area. Blown-away is what we were. Our daughter was 16 then & I remember thinking 'when she gets married this is where her reception will be" So when she got engaged in summer of 2014, we immediately made an appointment with Cescaphe. We looked no further after our visit & booked right away..... My daughter's reception at Cescaphe Ballroom was truly amazing, regal, unforgettable & grand. Absolutely everything was beyond perfect. The service, the atmosphere, the FOOD....the little details, such as the lighting, the table settings, menus, cake, signature drinks. I really can go on & on. Kelsey & Drew were incredible, they kept everything running so smoothly, which I know is not easy. Kelsey was so calm & helpful when we were struggling to bustle the bride's train. She saw that the bride was getting a little impatient & Kelsey literally got down on her knees & bustled most of it herself. Drew was there through the entire night making sure everything was flawless & making sure not only our guests were happy but we were as well. Finally, there was Carlean, she was our waitress. She was unbelievable, always there when I needed something. At one point I said out loud to no one in particular " I need to take these heels off, my feet are killing me" Carlean appears with a brand new pair of flip flops &&& helps me put them on. That is service! In my opinion, there is no other place to go when you are planning an event. The Cescaphe Event Group is everything anyone could ever want.
