Took my new kia 5 to get first oil change was there for 3 hours. Worst service department in broward county

After many times of telling the salesman "this is the 3rd dealership getting numbers for leases" he still continued on and on about "well what if I do this or that or this" Manager finally comes around saying blah blah blah all about credit even though VW, Toyota, and Honda all of them asked what my credit roughly was asked what type of vehicle and with all responses don't care just the cheapest. They'd tell me the car and the estimated payment in less than 5 minutes. Not here asking everything about how much I pay, asking for credit reports. All for some quick numbers. Oh by the way 20 minutes of useless talking and trying persuade me into getting something and still walked out with 0 numbers. Just an unhappy consumer and 0 sales for them. Last and final time ever thinking about inquiring about these vehicles. Also let the dude know I dont even like KIA, or any of the vehicles, but i'm purchasing which ever the cheapest. These dudes are sleezt salesman and their general manager definitely binge watches Andy Elliot with the way he thinks he can train these sleezy salesman to become Jordan Belfort. read more

I was shopping alone at Phil Smith Kia in Lighthouse Point and was sold a CPO car that after I got home and researched found out it had been in a major accident during a test drive with multiple airbags deployed. How is this legal to CPO a car after that kind of wreck? If it is legal, slipping a Carfax into the rest of the paperwork is NOT how that car should be sold. I found out that Kia allows the dealerships to certify the cars at the dealership - I bet Kia doesn't realize that they are selling CPO cars that have a history like this car. Is this happening because of low inventory restraints? They refused to return it and give me my Lexus trade in, forcing me to keep the car or buy another one from them. I have been physically sick from how much I was taken advantage of. Not sleeping and now have a LARGE car payment on a car that I settled on just to get out of the situation I was in. I was trading in a 2020 Lexus RX 350 and looking at a 2023 Telluride. Never purchased a preowned before and was talked into it by the Sales Manager. As a buyer, you have no idea what the actual price of the car they are selling until you sit down and negotiate. This dealership (and likely others) are on-the-fly marking up the sticker price to cancel out your trade in equity. Saying that its due to low inventory but high demand. I was priced out of the new car I was looking at because of this. The sales manager, Bijan Motiei, was set on me leaving with a car, even though it was 1.5 after closing time on Sunday evening. A preowned was suggested and after frustration I agreed as my lease was ending and I had $8-10K equity on my Lexus, thinking I was finally getting a car in a price range I wanted. I needed to make a decision on something - and I made the wrong decision!!! I was alone, it was dark out and no one was left at the dealership but myself, the sales guy, sales manager and finance girl. The paperwork was quickly underway and I asked about a Carfax and was told, 'the car is good, it was in a fender bender but don't worry - its Certified PreOwned and all covered." I was concerned about the 'fender bender' and was then assured, "Kia wouldn't Certify the car if they thought anything was wrong with it.' Like an idiot, I trusted what I was told. I bought all the additional warranties just in case. The Carfax was handed to me with all of the other paperwork. It was never reviewed with me, but they claim I signed it - yet to see proof of that. They were rushing to get the deal done and go home for the night, it all happened so quickly. On the way home the car felt jerky driving and I got a pit in my stomach knowing I had messed up. I got home and purchased the crash report (attached) and the car had been crashed badly with multiple airbags deployed!!! The car was new and on a test drive with a sales person demoing the auto brake feature. The car slammed into the back of a PARKED city bus. Multiple airbag deployments. The dealership clearly fixed it up, drove it for a while to consider it 'used' and Certified (CPO) it in house. How is that ok, safe or legal? They claim there was an owner that then traded the car back in 10 months later. I wrote emails overnight as it was Sunday and Monday AM called as many ppl as I could to help. No one would return my calls so I took off work and went in to the dealership to ask for my Lexus back - they refused, said it was too late. They claimed the deal was funded and my Lexus was already sold to a local Lexus dealership that they were partnered with. Mind you my Lexus is for sale on their site now. When I called my bank funding the deal, Bank of America said the transaction could still be canceled but Phil Smith Kia would not do it. The only option I was given was to trade in the car in. Basically, they kept my trade in with the $8-10K equity, my $3K and said it was all lost with the purchase of the first car but they were going to cut me a deal on the new car. I really had no option but to trade that wrecked car in for a new car. I was crying hysterically, mad at myself for getting into the position but shocked at how I was being treated. I kept telling them how much the were F'ing me and they were still being so slimy working me as a new sale. The new numbers were BS and I left with a huge car payment. They promised things like a maintenance warranty and 90 deferral but never told the finance person when completing the paperwork. Arrived a 12noon and got home at 8pm last night. I was there the whole day and not in a much better place. I finally was able to speak to the General Manager after having to find him personally on his Instagram account. When this was all happening, I called the dealership multiple times asking for him but they would only take a message and clearly was not passing it along. He was very kind and I explained what happened and he did try and help me out but he was not offering to decrease pricing anything close to what I had in my trade in and the $3K I put down. read more

This organization cares about nothing but making sales and upselling their clients. I finally got rid of my Kia after having it for years, but every time I went to Phil Smith for maintenance or a simple oil change, they never provided updates or when it would be ready. There was one time during the holidays where my recall was supposed to be finished "within a couple days", and they would text/call me when it would be ready. After those "couple days" went by, I tried calling/texting maintenance/support with no answer. In fact, the only line that answered was sales who then forwarded me to a mechanic saying the car would be ready in another "couple days" as they were waiting for my part. After a WEEK and a HALF with no vehicle, no call/text, status update, I Uber to the dealership to say my peace, only to be greeted by one of the reps trying to apologize and that they promise the car would be finished the next day. After the complaint, I Ubered back the next day and my car was finished. Oh, and during this week and half of waiting, I got a call from sales trying to "upgrade me to the new K5 for the same price I am paying now", or from the used car department trying to make me an offer. I will never step foot in this dealership again and advise anyone reading this not to get taken advantage of and seek another dealer. read more

The Phil Smith Kia service department scammed me. I brought the car in for an oil change. When they pulled up front, this really loud screeching noise was heard as the car came to a stop. We had never heard this before. All of a sudden, a service tech that was not assigned to us came running up and said we better not drive the car until he looked at it. After a brief inspection, he told me I needed front brakes and rotors and that the rear ones were ok and that the car was not safe to drive. They put brakes on both the front and rear and wouldn't release the car until it was paid for. Service Rep Randy Jr refused to give me the name of the service manager or the tech who scammed us. Made an appointment 10 days ago for an "oil change". Was told by the guy on the phone it would be $39.95, and that I would be out in less than an hour, it's just an oil change........... 2 hours and 30 minutes later, and $79.95 I had finally got my keys!! Let me tell you about the bullshit in between. I waited patiently for an hour. At 1 hour and 20 minutes I see my truck leave the bay, awesome, oil change is done I should be gone shortly..... nope!!!! They bring my truck to the wash where it sat for another 24 minutes with the 4 way flashers on. So I went to the desk and asked why my truck had been sitting there for over 20 minutes, I get a bullcrap response. Finally it's in the wash, gets done and some kid drives it back over and then parks it in their back parking lot, WTF!!! And the windshield is still dirty, wth did they wash??? The two lanes in front of the service doors were empty why is my truck not there, why am I not paying and leaving. My truck is now sitting for 10 minutes in the rear parking lot and no one is doing anything. Now I'm fully pissed off and yell why the fuck is my truck sitting in the back. I was then confronted that I was wrong and it had not been washed yet. Guess they felt really stupid when I showed them a picture I had taken of it sitting there! One of the managers told me I can not "curse" in their building or I'd be asked to leave. Well guess what morons, if you did your jobs correctly I wouldve been out of there over an hour prior and it would've never got that far. Phil smith's kia mechanics are great I have no problem with them, they do a good job. Their service department is absolutely horrendous! Instead of getting my truck, and ringing me up, the service manager (Randy Rosario) is arguing with me about how they dropped the ball, well no crap just get my truck. Another manager said that the service shop is "private" and that if I continued to curse I'd be asked to wait outside..... I used 2 curse words. It should've been worse than that. Let me explain something to the idiots out there. Car dealerships are not private, the service area is not private, if you have hours of operation posted on the doors, and a freaking "waiting area" you're not a private area. I'm also a paying customer. This is the world we are dealing with. Oh and get this, while I'm there I get a call from Phil Smith Kia asking if I want to trade my truck in for something newer. They are not the most honest people on the planet. I attempted to purchase a car from the dealership. I was given a price for my car by the person that decides on a price. I guess the estimator. The manager also knew this price as I told him and he agreed. Then when I received the paperwork from the dealership or Buyer Order as they sent me it was much less. Basically I was told one thing then when it was time to purchase & pick up the car I was given a different price as stated above when I attempted to purchase/pick up the car. 2 stars for the fantastic sales department and 0 stars for the horrific service department. My family has purchased 2 cars from this dealership and have given them plenty of years of business. We've always had fantastic experiences with sales, but service needs to get their act together. I've had countless horrible experiences at this location, but this last one took the cake. Upon dropping my car off for an issue they claimed to fix back in March, the gentleman informed me they would call when my car was ready and assured me it wouldn't be long. At 1 in the afternoon he called to tell me it was just a sensor issue but I needed a few things. I approved one thing and he said to give it an hour. When we got off the phone he sent me an email with a HUGE list of other things wrong with my car--things I needed explained. So I called back every 5 minutes for the next 3 hours and got no answer. No one would pick up the phone, so I called sales and some wonderful human left the building to go find out what was going on in the service dept. Since I didn't trust their judgment, I took my car to my personal mechanic, who ran diagnostics and said my car needed NONE of what Kia insisted I needed done. 0 stars. I went in with a Check Engine Light and I just replaced the thermostat and housing 2 months ago with my mechanic. My Engine light came back on and my mechanic recommended to go to the dealership for a software update. I came to phil smith since Delray has apts too far from now. I came in and told the advisor Giovanni what we had recently done and he said we have to charge the 190 labor fee which we agreed because they told us on the phone that we can use that towards the repairs if necessary. He told us in person that is not how it works. So we agreed to pay, then he called us and said that we need to replace the thermostat housing and that is whats causing our problem. He was extremely rude and snobby on the phone after I told him we already done and told us that I have never replaced it. I told him to not call me a liar and I have a receipt for it from my mechanic. I asked if they actually looked at my car if I am paying 215 dollars for them to run a computer code I already told them wasn't the problem. He said verbatim that "I shouldn't jump around to different mechanics." I am absolutely livid and will never recommend or come back here. They do not actually look at your car and even if you have a warranty they will slap a bandaid on it like they did to me when I still had a warranty 8 months ago till my warranty ran out FOR THE SAME PROBLEM I am currently having. They did nothing and then they took $215 for doing absolutely nothing and said have a good day. read more

My daughters 2016 Kia Soul's engine died and This is a defective warranty, but because Kai says there is a recall she didn't have done by Kia, they wont fix it. Now when we check the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration there are no recalls to be performed on her car. Highly disappointed with my experience today at Phil Smith Kia. I signed up for a routine oil change and tire rotation that was priced at $58 on their website. I came in and was quoted $70.90. I was already annoyed that the price increased by so much but I didn't have time to take my vehicle elsewhere. Tell me why I came back to an $89 bill?? For an oil change and tire rotation! They didn't even use full synthetic oil. I was charged $30 over the list price. And to top it all off, they called and texted me three times to come pick up my vehicle when I told them exactly when I would be picking it up when they asked. Very frustrated with this place. I only give a two star because Byron was awesome. However the manager, I'm not sure of her name, was super rude. She was charging 5k over msrp. I get it that right now they are charging extra because of shortages. However the other two Kia dealerships we went to said they could remove that extra cost. But I wanted a specific interior color so I went to Phil Smith. A couple days later Rick Case Kia advised me they had the red interior I was looking for, went there bought it for msrp , no added on charge. The manager at Phil Smith was super rude essentially saying why would I charge you less when I could rip someone else off. Not a very good way to look at it. Phil Smith wanted me to pay 35k and then tax,title, and all that. I paid less than that AFTER taxes and everything. Go to Rick Case instead. read more

I bought a vehicle for Phil Smith Kia in Lighthouse Point and a year later the car fell apart on me within that year. I spent close to $8000 in repairs. Not only that but I was on the phone with them for about 40 of the 52 weeks during the year. And they never assisted me with anything. They sold me a lemon. I also would like to see that the sales people are very friendly, but when you're robbing people, I guess you gotta be friendly. I also put a large amount of cash down on the vehicle that was not applied to my total cost of the car.
