Not only are they really quick and friendly, but the whole salon is now remodeled! But I can really appreciate is their time in detail and the fact that they didn't rush me. Also, you can buy your hair and other beauty products as this salon is also a beauty supply. I had such a hard time finding a good, reliable beautician who knew how to do curls and was also willing. Once again, YELP was our answer. I'm big on reviews. Sometimes reviews can be off but not in regards to Shonte. The reviews are on point!!! My aunt's hair came out GREAT!!! She loves it!!! My aunt is visually impaired. That wasn't an issue for Shonte. She was patient and kind... REALLY KIND!! The drive to Concord was well worth it. We'll be back!!! THANK YOU SHONTE!!! I could've gotten a better picture. This was her getting out of the car... I most likely scared Mell with the amount of times I said I love you to her…read more I had a pretty bad experience with a hairstylist which set my expectations because it was the first time going to a salon to dye my hair. I originally wanted Mell but my deposit was already set for the other hairstylist and I definitely suffered the consequences. It took me one conversation with Mell to appreciate her attitude and good energy and one session to absolutely love her work. She got me to the exact color I wanted, super honest throughout the entire experience and made me feel super comfortable and safe. Hair is hair but she completely shifted my mood and I will 1000% be continuously going to her. Thank you so much!!

If I could give no stars I absolutely would. I scheduled my appointment through online booking for…read more5:30pm. At 4:55, when I was already near the salon, this stylist stated she was running late and needed to reschedule me for 6pm. Unfortunately it did not end there. 20 minutes before my new appt time, she asked me if I wanted to schedule yet again because she is running behind. Giving me a new time of 6:20pm. This is a complete disregard for my time, and quite honestly lack of professionalism. If there is one thing I hate is people wasting my time. I get that things come up, and something happens, but this is not the way to go about it. I can't speak of her work, but her work ethic and professionalism is not in the room with us. I drove 20 mins to the appt, wasted my time waiting, and got no cut. An hour and a half of my time I won't be getting back. On to giving my business elsewhere. Based on this experience I would say look elsewhere and don't waste your time.

Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I drove a significant distance for my…read moreappointment and was asked to come at a later time because the stylist was running behind with her previous client. I tried to be understanding and accommodate her by agreeing to the later time and finding something to do nearby while I waited. I was then contacted again and told that the appointment was still taking longer than expected. At that point, I was told she could still take me, but she couldn't provide an estimated time of when she would actually be available. I understand that appointments can occasionally run over, but repeatedly changing the appointment time and then asking me to wait indefinitely was frustrating, especially after I had already traveled a long distance and made multiple accommodations. I ultimately decided that I couldn't continue waiting without knowing when my appointment would actually happen. I believe clients' time should be respected just as much as the stylist's, and better time management and communication would have made a big difference. I'm leaving this review in hopes that future clients have a more organized and reliable experience.

I was referred to…read moreLeona Lavoie @msleonalavoie by a close friend of mine; Ms. Leona was a charm and extremely professional. Initially I was hesitant being that I have not had extensions added to my hair in almost two years;19 months and 2 weeks to be exact and then to add to my fear of adding strain to my already thinning hair, I very recently just recovered my retracting alopecia, from prior careless braiding and weight on my hair, unnecessary pulling on the follicles which resulted in complete baldness and shedding of the ends of my hair. Leona was very careful and attentive to my needs and concerns. She took the time to listen and even educated me on what I can do to encourage hair growth and prevent further damage. She went to the local beauty supply store with me and assisted me with finding the best quality hair that not only perfectly matched my hair color and texture but also within my budget.  Okay, now for the styling services: I asked for a sew-in weave with a middle u-part, leaving out a small portion of my hair at the top and around my edges. Her technique was phenomenal! I didn't feel strain or painful hair pulling and she made sure to ask me how I felt throughout the process. She took my thinning hair and recovering edges and gave them life. It has been 3 weeks and I have not experienced any balding or shedding around the perimeter of the hair where she braided, the braids are still very flat to my scalp and the tracks are still tightly sewn and everything still looks and feels fresh. This woman is extremely talented and it's refreshing to find someone here in the bay area who actually cares about hair health and not just the client's money. I can't wait to my next appointment - I think I'll have her install some Senegalese braids, SHE BRAIDS TOO. I believe I have found my forever go-to hair stylist. I HIGHLY recommend Leona and I can confidently say that any money you spend on her services will be well worth every penny. You may also be happy to know that for those of you who can't make it to her location in Richmond, she does offer mobile servicing which she charges a reasonable travel fee for.  Thanks again Leona, you truly are my hair savior!
