My most recent $400 purchase of 4 packs of 22 inch wavy tape ins became severely tangled and matted after a few professional washes ( I work at a salon so this is not a user error) . The cuticles are misaligned, ends are split, and the hair is impossible to brush to the point where it feels like doll hair. I was only offered 20% off ONE pack, which doesn't begin to fix the problem. For this price and as a longterm client, I expected much better quality and customer service. I've purchased a lot of hair with perfect locks because of the variety of colors they offer in their coily and curly patterns. I recently had to make a return. The customer was not pleased with the tonality of the color but the hair that I've been using on my clients and this client as well. Has held up so far at a minimum 8 months and is still holding up. However, thes site continued to add $9.95 in shipping charges which it should not have, according to the site. So, I reached out to customer support, and the representative removed the unauthorized shipping charges, but stated that I no longer qualified for the 40% discount. After engaging with several other customers who experienced the same thing, we have decided to report Perfect Locks to the CFPD as they were "Baiting and Switching." read more

My initial service experience was a bit mixed for fusion extensions installation, but when I contacted management to let them know I wasn't happy with the extension install they were VERY responsive and gave me excellent customer service to fix the situation. We talked on the phone a couple times and they refunded the initial cost of service and gave me a big discount on the second install service. Nicholas did an incredible job putting in keratin fusion extensions, he took a lot of time to do lots of little ones in areas I have hair loss, and it looks and feels fantastic. I'm very happy with the hair quality too, they have really good curly hair which is hard to find. They turned the whole situation around completely and I felt very respected and that they truly cared to give me the best possible experience. I will be happy to go back for touch-ups in the future. When you weed through the IG hype and professional photos, glitz and glam of their beautiful showroom and great Walnut Creek location and you get to the reviews from "Everyday real buyers and Cosmetologists" it sounds like we all have the same issue in common, the hair. Being a huge consumer of the most elite hair companies such as Freedom Couture and several others, I know quality and immediately I was skeptical because of the matted tangled hair being displayed for SALE in the showroom (everyone touches it and it's still being sold matted and all at top dollar), however I looked past that out of desperation and wanting to finally have access to hair in my neighborhood oppose to buying and waiting for shipments etc. I've given PL a try probably 4-5 times (unfortunately) spending no less than $800 each purchase the most being over 1K and I've experienced the same results each time 1 of which I had my hair styled by one of their stylist and it looked beautiful however it was tragic 2 weeks later . As soon as I wash the hair and have it installed for a week sometimes 2 weeks it turns into a tangled, matted, DRY EXTREMELY DRY mess. The only hair I've ever known to do this is packaged hair, the brands I use to buy over 10 years ago for $150 a package from beauty supply stores. I agree with the majority of these "1 star" reviews. I know and love the hair industry. I know quality and I have huge doubt that this hair is "Virgin Indian Hair" sourced from India. It doesn't behave like ANY Virgin hair I've ever purchased. The hair has no life to it. It feels and behaves like old restored extensions that's the best way I can explain it. It's lackluster and it should have all the luxe to it for the price. You can deep condition it and it's still stale, stiff and very DRY. Also another issue I believe they can work on, for the prices they charge, I don't understand why the lace front and full lace wigs aren't more natural? (Bleached knots, realistic pre-plucked hair lines, baby hair etc)? The knots are not bleached. there's no TLC with their product and that's evident when you look at the wigs on display It's honestly a rip off. I have purchased hair from shopwigdealer for literally $300 that's much better quality and last longer. So lesson learned. I will continue to order hair where I get a bang for my buck because at the end of the day it is an investment that you want to feel confident in that should last you a YEAR at least in that price point. The waste of money has taught me patience. That's the positive. I'll start waiting for quality I'm for sure I can depend on every time. Side note- the counter staff is lovely tho. I will say that. I've had perfect locks extensions for a couple months now. I have the machine weft extensions. Nice and friendly staff. However, hair is definitely not worth $500-$600!! I gave the hair a chance until my hair started knotting up like crazy and having to brush through it every 10 minutes just to knot back up again! dry on the ends all the time too and I use olaplex #7 bonding oil. I also switch back in between Redken All Soft or the Iles shampoo and conditioner. I don't use olaplex all the time FYI. Only when I feel that I need to use it. Hair is always dry!! Definitely the extension hair that's the problem! Ended up having a even more huge knot and having to take them out!! Save your money & go somewhere with better hair! read more

I was really looking forward to having my hair done here. I went in for a consult weeks ago and met Marina and scheduled. I forgot to book a color match also and Marina didn't book for it. I called the salon that night and explained I needed to book a color match also and was told I would get a call back the next day. I have now been calling twice a week to try to book the color match, and every time I call they say I will get a call back by end of business, yet the call never comes. Today when I called for the last time, I was told there were no notes in my file that I needed a color match and that the salon didn't actually have a phone, I had been calling an offsite call center. I asked why these notes were not delivered to Marina and the rep told me "we all know how to do our jobs very well here." It wasn't my question, but obviously a complai t she has received before. Unfortunately, because of the lack of communication from the call center, I had to cancel my appointment a day Marina lost a customer. This could easily be fixed by having a phone at the salon, they aren't busy enough to not handle in house. Maybe if they cancel their call center in the future I will return. Update 7/30: Marina was able to work her schedule out to accommodate. I will leave a separate 5 star review for her. I'm still not going to change the salon review due to Marie's poor service and a few other people I spoke to and also because their brand of hair is not great. I've wore 7-8 different brands of hair over my extension wearing life and Perfect Locks has probably the second to worst hair I've felt. My first washing at home I was in despair as the hair shed in massive amounts all over my tub floor. Every washing since is the same issue.
