Sometimes on a weekend or after work I have to wait 10-15 minutes. Today, I went in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon and I was the only client. It also seems to be a popular place for lashes, but I've never had that service. Its located inside the Sola Salon Suites near Wegman's in Glenarden. I scheduled the next appointment within 2 weeks for lashes and eyebrow tinting, and the morning of my appointment, she cancelled...didn't offer another time or date at all. She simply cancelled! Ugh! I have an event tomorrow and I'm scrambling to try to find someone (anyone) who can do my lashes today. This is beyond annoying and completely unprofessional. Also, I got henna tattoos there when I got my brows done and the one on my chest was crooked. When I told her and showed her right after she finished, she kept babbling on and acted like she didn't know what I was saying. It was crooked. She seems like a nice lady and I can basically walk to her salon so it was extremely convenient. I have no plans to go back!

Ruby performed the pedicure exactly as it should be. I have zero complaints about my service. She was very thorough and gentle at the same time. I've been doing a home pedicures a for quite some time and had a few ingrowns I couldn't get out myself. I am very satisfied with my service, polish application, complimentary drink and chair massage. My only suggestion would be: the cleaning lady shouldn't use "used/dirty" towels to wipe down floors & pedicure bowls. I was skeptical at first because she has so few reviews but I had a great experience! Urmila didn't disappoint! She was fast, gentle and gave me the natural but full look I was going for. What really impressed me is that my lashes lasted my whole vacation (9 days). I even went into the ocean and got hit by waves and my lashes stayed in tact!! I will definitely be coming back!

What rubbed me the wrong way was when I asked if she had punch cards for customers. She said no, then said not right now. On my next visit, I asked again and she provided a punch card. I asked her about my two prior visits and if I could get those punches. She then gives an answer that is not relevant to what's being asked. She replied "I'll punch it on your next visit." Well, ma'am, my next visit is for my next visit. I have had to ask her to sanitize her hands. If you've ever had threading done, the person is literally in your face and if it's post-lunch, you can tell exactly what they had or struggling with. Be aware that the area being threaded should be cleaned beforehand. It's irritating to remind the threader to do so. I wonder if this is in an effort to use less product. I need you to be just as vigilant with your sanitation practices as you are when the screen asks me if I want to leave a tip. Speaking of tips, the amount the screen shows is more than what's advertised. For example a 10% tip on a $12 service is $1.20, 20% is $2.40. Take the time to verify what's being shown so you know what you're saying yes to. The adjacent barbers are really loud with their conversations and music so there's not a lot of chit chat because it's difficult to hear. She is pleasant and patient and will listen to what you're requesting. I do like how she does my brows but need consistency in the simple hand hygiene practices and consideration if it's after a meal. By all means, take that coveted punch card each time you go and maybe, just maybe one day you'll actually accrue enough punches for a free service.

What I got was a sloppy, messy design that was virtually impossible to fix or improve because she just kept adding more crooked, sloppy, uneven lines. I was supposed to get both hands done, but I stopped her halfway through the first hand when it was obvious that she had no concept of symmetry and that ultimately this was not going to get any better. I tried washing it off as soon as I got out of her chair, but the stain had already started to set. She told me it should only last a day or two since I removed it so quickly.. I hope so because I'm going on vacation soon and I do not feel comfortable walking around with my hand covered in such poor, sloppy, unprofessional work.

Fast forwarding to today, I cut my own hair, but before that, this is the barber shop I came to ever since high school. I kept myself attached to it because its prices always stayed reasonable (under $20 is hard to find nowadays!). It doesn't really stand out from other barber shops, though. It has a TV, plenty of chairs for waiting and a long row of barbers. I've heard of some shops that play music and really make for an entertaining environment.. I never really got that from here, but they get the job done. Soon before I started cutting my own hair, I started scheduling appointments in advance. I felt like I was the only one among my friends who didn't do that, so I said "Why not?" I had always assumed scheduling meant they were guaranteed to be available to take care of you right at that time, but that's actually not the case. Most of the time I still had to wait 15-20 minutes to get taken care of. One time (my last time), my barber left to take a lunch break at the very time we had agreed to meet. In summary, they get the job done and their prices are good... but don't bother scheduling, just go in during non-peak time.
