We honestly would not recommend this office. Our original hope was to avoid extractions if possible, so after reading previous online reviews, we decided to come here for a consultation. After examining my child's teeth, the doctor immediately told us that extractions would not be necessary and that skeletal expansion alone would solve the issue. During the consultation, we specifically asked whether there were any risks or trade-offs involved, and the doctor told us there was "nothing significant to worry about." Based on that explanation, we paid the $500 initial payment. Later, the doctor provided a written report stating that my child had severe crowding: 12-14 mm in the upper arch and 10-12 mm in the lower arch, while the treatment plan proposed 7 mm of skeletal expansion. After reading the report, I felt the numbers did not logically add up. I asked the doctor whether the measurements were accurate and, if so, whether he could explain quantitatively how severe crowding could realistically be resolved without extractions. The doctor's first response was to remind me that the initial payment would not be refunded if we decided not to continue treatment there. I was then told to schedule another appointment. When I called, the earliest available follow-up was two weeks later -- despite the fact that the office website showed plenty of availability for new patient consultations. At the second consultation, the doctor finally showed me simulations for both extraction and non-extraction treatment plans, and then concluded that my child's case should actually be treated with extractions. This left us feeling that the office was more focused on telling parents what they wanted to hear in order to secure a commitment, rather than presenting the most appropriate treatment plan from the beginning. More importantly, the potential downsides and risks of the original non-extraction expansion approach were never honestly discussed. For example, no one initially mentioned the possibility that this approach could result in protrusive teeth/lips ("buck teeth" appearance) or long-term instability. After consulting with several other orthodontists in the area, our overall impression was that this office has very modern facilities, but falls short in professional judgment, treatment planning, and communication. read more

Doctor Lu is amazing with kids and he is always with a smile on his face. If you are looking for a caring dentist for your little one then you definitely got to give Dr. Lu a visit. It is always good vibes when Doctor is around. We had been going through a lot for the past year with our 10 year old son having an extremely small jaw and his adult teeth were growing out crooked or not able to come out at all. On top of it all, our son was snoring like a grown adult man and we took him to check his tonsils and even had to do a sleep apnea test. However, once our son started his dental care with Dr. Lu, his plan for our son has been working out so well and positive. Once he started wearing the expanders, his snoring is almost nonexistent nowadays and his teeth finally have the space to grow out.
