Among the best medical service experiences I've ever had! I'm 60 and have recently had my lower front teeth shifting. My dentist was ready to provide invisilign correction but I decided to get a second opinion from an orthodontist. I found Dr. Wu online and made an appointment for a free consultation. I checked in and was immediately taken to Jennifer who went over the evaluation procedure. When we finished she brought Jackie in who took photos and X-rays. Then back to Jennifer's office when I waited a few minutes then met with Dr. Wu for her recommendation. Due to bone loss, which is apparently common at any age, she recommended against any orthodontia as moving the teeth puts stress on the bones which could lead to further bone loss. Clearly this doctor has patient well being first and foremost in her mind. I'm so grateful! And am so glad I sought out a trained orthodontist who evaluates the whole situation and isn't going to provide merely a cosmetic approach. I had photos, X-rays and evaluation at no cost. Amazing! Thank you Dr. Chu and team for your service to the community! You are a gift! read more

This place is clean and nice. The staff are great and wonderful with kids. Everything works well until you have to see Dr. Wu. Dr. Wu does not have time to explain things to you. She is always in a rush to get out. I had a question that needed a bit of explanation. She handled it in a way that made me feel shameful for having a question. Also, watch out for their sales tactics, very subtle but very aggressive. read more

My 14 year old was referred here by her dentist for evaluation and consultation. She has some developmental disabilities that make appointments like this pretty stressful. Dr. Wu was incredibly attuned to our situation and offered us treatment options that would align with our family's needs and priorities. She also complimented my daughter's natural smile which nobody has ever done (outside of family) and really touched me. I left our consultation feeling so well informed and so supported as a parent. It was a really unexpectedly lovely experience. read more

Dr. Wu is a perfectionist which is why I went with her office!!! My first child just finished his treatment and I am SO HAPPY with the results!!! Overcrowding, overbite, and interesting genetics made my child's teeth grow in haphazardly but Dr. Wu did amazing work and now the teeth are straight and aligned properly. I recommend Wu Orthodontics to everyone who wants beautifully straight teeth!!! She is sooooo worth it!!!! Can I use any more !!!'s in my review? read more

The entire team at Wu Orthodontics was fantastic with my daughter's care over the past 2 plus years. Her teeth look amazing now! The front office was very flexible with appointment scheduling and the inevitable changes that occurred frequently during treatment. read more

My daughter finally completed her braces treatment. Her case was more complex so it took longer than most kids, but over the past three years the entire office was exceptional. The front desk was always welcoming and friendly, the entire technicians were stellar, the office was always clean and ready, and most importantly Dr Wu was amazing and a perfectionist. She's lovely, incredibly personable and caring for everyone who comes to her office. From day one through all the appointments we received the absolute best service. Highly recommend Dr Wu and her team. Thrilled that my daughter got her braces off yesterday, but we will miss them. I give them A+++ read more

This place is like an assembly line. No personal service. It's like the doctor is in a rush to spend the least amount of time with you that she possibly can. Every question is met with brisk rudeness, a tight fake smile, and passive aggression. We've never had more than 30 seconds with the doctor. The place is always crowded and it just feels like they don't care at all about the individuality of your kids teeth and face, they just do the same treatment for everyone. We paid in full so we'll finish treatment but I recommend others find a place with kinder, more personally tailored service. Another friend of mine also overheard them once having a meeting about "not letting anyone leave without signing a contract" to assure they would become customers, it's a real smarmy car salesman-y vibe. read more

I love Dr. Wu! She was able to assist two of my kids and she did a wonderful job. I recommend her to my niece and she was able to help her too. read more

We were referred to Dr. Wu from her husband, Dr. Joe who has a pediatrics dentistry also in South Pas. The inside is quite quaint, however more modern than you would think, given its in a little house. Super easy to check-in on the IPads and the staff all are friendly. Dr. Wu is very pleasant and is the right balance between friendly and professional. My son just got in for Phase 1 of his braces and they explained everything to both my son and I in a thorough manner. Only been there twice, but so far so good. read more

Wanted to schedule an appointment and missed the call, Taylor left a voicemail and I called back the number and asked for her, the lady picking up the phone pretending to be NICE but rude the funniest part is that when she put me on hold (which she didnt), i heard the whole conversation saying about me.. blah ....blah ......blah....... then she realized she DID NOT really put me on hold and then she hanged up. Be professional next time, check if You did put ur call on hold before talking shit behind people's back, all I want is just to schedule an appointment and why is that difficult ?? read more

My son had invisalign and the treatment was very good. Please note that invisalign cost $6,330 for the 17 month treatment to correct an overbite and after completion I was asked to pay an additional $1,000 for retainers. I just wanted others to have full disclosure since I was not extended this courtesy and was quite surprised when they asked for more money at the end of a very expensive treatment. read more

I came here with my daughter to see Dr Wu and over the past year we have seen Dr Kim as well. I love Dr Wu and Dr Kim here. Even the staff is so friendly. Dr Wu was really nice and did not judge me for nursing my 3 year old! They have nice magna tiles in the waiting space and my kids love to pick up their treats after their examination is done. Parking on Oak St is free but can be tricky when school is in session. I just wish they saw adults too!! Just completed my treatment with Dr. Wu! Super happy with my results! Woohoo! I still remember feeling super self-conscious about my overbite and wanting to fix my teeth as soon as I moved to LA. I had braces when I was a kid and did not wear my retainer as often as I should. And later my wisdom teeth sort of ruined the previous results. I am glad that I gave myself a second chance to fix my smile. And I knew this time I wanted to make sure I get the best treatment possible! Found Dr. Wu on Yelp, impressed with her education background and amazing reviews, booked a free consultation and never looked back :) If you are looking to perfect your smile, Dr. Wu is definitely the best choice! Thank you Dr. Wu! You bettered my life for sure! :D read more

They are never ever ever on time. EVER. Always some excuse- short staffed, etc, but then ok maybe don't overcrowd your appointment list? The staff is rude and don't seem to know much. read more

Hi, Thank you for the explanation. The first thing I would like to clarify is, I was NEVER told there are two options for consultation when I made my appointment. And during my appointment I was also told if I would like to move forward with the treatment plan then you guys would take the X-ray for me. There might have miscommunication in between but thats what I heard during the consultation. Second, yes, I got the quote and there was an initial treatment idea but not the ideal solution. Then you told me to find someone else. To be honest, I went in with hope but ended up leaving with the feeling like don't want to input too many efforts on me... I hope it's just my personal case, so lets move on. I still believe Dr. Wu is a good doctor. I'm updating this review, because I didn't work with you eventually, so I can't judge and make further comment. Thank you. read more

WOW!!! It's finally over I should have written this review about 2 mths ago. Anyway I can say this was an exciting and great experience for me and my family. My son , daughter are so pleased with the service and results. Before my son wouldn't smile or he would cover his smile. Now he's very confident himself. My daughter won't stay out of the mirror ! Most of all the customer service was outstanding! For me that's really important. I just would like to thank Dr. Wu and her OUTSTANDING staff for taking care of my kids for the past 1 and 1/2 year. Ok so I loved my old orthodontist who put on my braces. He was amazing but I lived in Denver at the time. So fast forward to last week (5 years later) when my bonded retainer starts coming off and bugging that SH$T out of me! I did what any reasonable person would do... I called my orthodontist in Denver to make an appt and started looking at flights. Luckily his receptionist understands how neurotic I am and told me that I should really look for an orthodontist in my area and told me exactly what to ask for to make sure they could help me. OK, I will try but it's a Friday so I get out my needle nose pliers and pull off most of the retainer but leave a jagged piece that is now poking my tongue....aghhhh! After calling several orthodontists and leaving messages or talking to receptionists that didn't care how much irritation I was going through, they didn't have an appt until August or whatever. I was thrilled when I got a call back from Sue saying that since I really wanted to get in quickly, Dr. Wu could see me in her husbands pediatric dentistry office while her new office is under construction. Needless to say.... "Please, heck yes, and thank you"! So as if they hadn't already won me over by seeing me for a consult, Dr. Wu sees how much pain I am in and removes both my bonded retainers (the other one was in bad shape too) in that very appointment!! Not only that, she was amazingly patient with my hyper sensitive teeth and took time to get all the glue off without hurting me. There is a reason I loved my old ortho, he was patient with me. Dr Wu was patient and comforting and had a warm smile on her face the whole time! She gave me several options for proceeding so that I can keep my stellar smile! I think I am probably gonna go with the removable retainers so that I can stay away from the insanity of bridge flossing forever!!! I LOVE DR WU!! read more

Wu Orthodontics - My teeth sans hellish bonded retainers! - Orthodontists Near Me - South Pasadena, California

Just completed my treatment late August with Dr. Wu, and I am extremely satisfied with the result. This is my second round of braces. I slacked off on retainers after middle school. My upper front tooth became 45 degree crooked, and most teeth were misaligned. I found Dr. Wu via Yelp, and was impressed on my initial consultation visit. The office is very clean. The staff are very friendly. Dr. Wu discovered my receding gum problem and referred me to a very capable periodontist for treatment before i can start with her. Through out the two and half year treatment, Dr. Wu was very patient and accommodating. She made sure I was happy with every step of change. If I reported an issue, she made adjustment immediately. With the pandemic going on, Dr. Wu took everyone's safety seriously. She implemented additional safety procedure to make sure all the patients and staff are protected, such as no waiting room, physical distancing, temperature check and extra protective gears. During my visit in August, I felt safe with all these measures of precaution in place. I highly recommend Dr. Wu. She will make you smile again. read more

They are very friendly over the phone. I went in for a second opinion about Invisalign. I was up front about this when booking the appointment. Dr. Wu seemed bothered that I did not want to stick with my current ortho. I was expecting to just start a new service, instead of just signing me up and treating me like a new patient, she insisted I go back to my current ortho-- something I did not want to do. Well I obviously wasn't going to beg to be a patient? So I thanked them for their time and left. Overall it did not feel welcoming and I was constantly being shuffled from chair to chair for no reason. read more

Dr. Wu and her staff have been AMAZING to work with me as I move all over the country for school. Free parking!! I have a friend who came here to get Invisalign done, and every time I come with him, I like it more. His teeth are also starting to look really good, despite this only being his 4th month. Located on a nice trendy street in Pasadena, this place is understated, which I love. They're not trying to sell you extra services with weird gimmicks. Dr. Wu is professionally trained at Harvard and is amazing technically. In addition, she has amazing bed...er...chairside manners, and will never try to sell you things you don't need. You will love her. She is so sweet and charming, and makes any kid or neurotic teenager comfortable. My friend is an adult and he also loves it here. The receptionist is really nice, and they are accommodating. Dr. Wu is such a sweet ortho and she's amazing. Sue was also really helpful! So I found out about Dr. Wu through a friend that had her braces consultations done with Dr. Wu and she highly recommended me to go see her as well. Well, Dr. Wu is way too awesome. Although I was only there for a consultation but she was really really thorough and took her time explaining the differences between traditional braces and Invisalign to me. Of course before seeing Dr. Wu, her dental assistant(forgot her name, but she was really really sweet as well) did x-rays and took some photographs of my teeth to be examined later by Dr. Wu. Okay, the reason people seek ortho(s) is to fix their teeth to make it look great and that we can have more confident when we smile. I was really really uncomfortable when the dental assistant took pictures of my teeth but she was really sweet and told me that's why they're here to help us and really comfort me and told not to be too embarrassed. I had a great consultation session with Dr. Wu and staff. Although it was only for 30-45 minutes, I know Dr. Wu did really took her time into telling me about the braces process and everything. I am definitely considering choosing Dr. Wu and team to make my smile even better! But! I have to wait on the insurance to go through. HAHA. read more

Every time I think about Dr. Wu, I found myself smile. She is my first dentist that I have spoke to in regarding orthodontics treatment. Ever since I met her, I expect all other orthodontics specialists to be the same, I am wrong. She has raised up the bar for the whole orthodontics industry, offering the most innovative and readily accessible materials to shorten your treatment time. Dr. Wu spent great deal of time 'gently' reveals my conditions, reassuring me there is nothing to worry since there are treatment options for me here at her office. ( I was a bit shaken, but after another 10 minutes TLC from Dr. Wu, my shoulders were lighter. And mom, I wish I had listen to you getting braces early on.) Dr. Wu, as a young adult herself, understands the potential social or physical challenge I may have while receiving orthodontics treatment. She encouraging me to take a leap of faith to include the most advanced medical grade screws from South Korea for my upper palate. I definitely should turn in my insurance info to Sue to get a quote. ;) read more

My teenage daughter loves Dr. Wu. That should be enough to explain the 5 stars, but I will explain further. My daughter looks forward to every appointment because Dr. Wu is so positive, warm and kind. When we enter the office, we are always welcomed by a friendly staff. Dr. Wu spends ample of time with us explaining every procedure and updates us on my daughter's teeth progress. She makes my daughter feel comfortable and happy to be wearing metal in her mouth. My daughter also loves her light touch and pain free style of tightening braces. She also gets to change up the color of the bands on her braces every 6 weeks. How cool is that? The price is very reasonable. She never tried to nickel and dime us. She was very upfront with the cost and as sweet as she is--she never sugar coated our financial responsibility. I liked that because it makes things very clear and leaves no room for surprises. It is truly refreshing to meet someone so dedicated and passionate about her job. We can't wait to see Jade's new and improve smile. read more

I saw Dr. Wu for the last two years at UCLA and now my family, friends and colleagues are all enjoying my beautiful smile. I am excited to find her on Yelp and learned that she had set up her own practice, which means more kids/adults in LA will have a happy beautiful smile from such a nice and skillful doctor. As an adult patient of Dr. Wu, my case is technically very hard and also I knew I need to leave LA within two years when I started. She is very considerate and was able to adjust her own schedule to fit my needs so that I can finish in time. She was trained in the top dental schools in the US and herself taught classes at UCLA. She is a master of the knowledge, skills, and latest techniques in orthodontics. Through my treatment, she was always willing to explain how my teeth had moved if I asked her and very patiently taught me how to put on the elastics and how to clean my teeth properly. She is very skillful and experienced, and moved very fast on my teeth so that I didn't feel painful during the treatment even as an adult. She was able to finish my teeth, perfectly, within two years, just as she promised. Besides her top skills, she also has a special eye for a beautiful mile based on each individual's facial profile. She told me that she would like to align my upper teeth with my lower lip so that I can look younger. Now that most people think I am at least 5 years younger than I am! For her personality, I don't think I need to say much here. When you visit her in person, I am 100% sure you will like her as your doctor, and you will enjoy every orthodontic appointment with her. Dr. Wu can be fully trusted for bringing you the healthy teeth and the most beautiful smile that fits your face. I am sure you will never regret to have Dr. Wu as your orthodontist. read more

I went to Dr. Wu after my teeth shifted due to not wearing my retainers the first time around. Compared to my first orthodontist, she's a breath of fresh air! The orthodontist I went to for braces was so rude and ignorant - Dr. Wu is the EXACT OPPOSITE. After my consultation for getting my teeth straight again, I felt confident in her and her staff's services and knew that I'd have a good experience for my time with her. She provided me with all of the details I needed for my treatment (I got active retainers / aligners because my teeth weren't too bad and I didn't need to get braces all over again). She cautioned me on adjustments that might occur with my mouth and was extremely reassuring. She also made sure that my dental hygiene was up to par to even begin my treatment. I never left her office without a smile on my face. The best part was that I ended my treatment 2 months early! It was a complete shock to me but that is just how good Dr. Wu is. Her staff even gave me tons of candy and goodies when I completed my treatment! :D Sue and Ilyzsa are always so friendly and accommodating - hands down the nicest and sweetest staff I've ever met. She didn't rush, her advice was pragmatic and balanced, and overall every single visit was smooth & focused. I love Dr. Wu and her staff! I got braces in middle school and wore my retainers diligently for 20 years (don't worry, I got several replacements over the years). My retainers broke and I was too busy to get a replacement (had a baby). After 6 months of not wearing retainers, I had a gap in my front teeth / noodle depository. I love noodles, so this was a tremendous inconvenience. My dentist referred me to Dr. Wu and I have been so pleased. Dr. Wu's bedside manner is wonderful. She is thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. Dr. Wu is always cheerful and very patient with my questions and concerns. After a few short months of Invisalign, my gap is gone and I can fearlessly enjoy noodles! A few additional items that I consider icing on the cake - *They use the latest technology and equipment - very different from my 2001 experience! The x-ray machine plays calming music and has a glasses/jewelry holder; and instead of gummy/plaster molds, they used a wand-like camera to scan my teeth. 2019 middle schoolers have it so good! *Scheduling team is very accommodating *When submitting the initial paperwork, Hugo was really easy to work with and emailed me the form I lost *During the financial part of the consultation, Sue made things easy to understand and never made me feel pressured *Dr. Wu's ortho assistants are all really good. Laura is so friendly and always makes each visit incredibly pleasant *Parking is free and easy My son will probably eventually need braces and I will certainly take him to see Dr. Wu and her incredible team. We first met Dr. Wu when she was a resident at UCLA working with their renowned Craniofascial team. A few years later, when we were back at UCLA, and the team recommended orthodontics for our daughter, and I mentioned that Dr. Joe had recommended Dr. Wu, the head of the orthodontic specialists there was very enthusiastic about how excellent of a doctor Dr. Wu was and that we would be in great hands under her care. They were right! Dr. Wu, is kind, gentle, and extremely smart. She doesn't try to upsell anything, and her office offers no interest financing as a routine, which makes a big difference. They are super professional, while also maintaining such a friendly atmosphere that her practice is perfect for kids and adults alike. We highly recommend Dr. Wu! read more

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to Dr. Wu and Wu Orthodontics. I am 50 years old and had my reservations about getting any type of orthodontic work done. I had researched different locations and visited one other. Dr. Wu came highly recommended. Compared to the other location I visited, the staff at Wu Orthodontics was head and shoulders above the other. From the consultation through the results of my Invisalign, my experience was first class. The staff is as inviting, professional, and friendly on the first day of consultation as they are on the final day of service. Dr. Wu herself is both very professional and personable. She takes all of the time necessary to answer any questions you have. She is also very conscientious about making sure her work is top quality. Appointments are on time, yet never feel rushed. As an education administrator, I have a habit of watching how people interact with children. As you can imagine, most of Dr. Wu's patients are children as that it is an office for orthodontics. She is friendly and patient with every child. It is easy to see that her patients enjoy seeing her. In conclusion, Dr. Wu Orthodontics is a phenomenal office for kids and adults. The staff is very professional and friendly. You will get excellent results from a professional, caring, and wonderful orthodontist. I would not hesitate to repeat my experience or take my own children to Wu Orthodontics. read more

Dr Wu is incredibly honest with her recommendations (free consultation btw!).
