After many years of being Dr. Phan's patient - we left. We left because of the lack of care, the overfilling and incorrect billing (when we have a file of emails backing our dental requests and again being over charged). Doris at the front desk messed our appointments up, was not caring when we had to cancel due to covid in our family, and a snow storm and continued to be so rude throughout the entire process. We finally asked for our records and after their failed platform without technical help where you can retrieve them, we are still waiting. 4 months later when I again reminded her we needed the records, she said there is a $100 fee. This $100 fee was never mentioned. Dr. Phan never even returned my email or phone call. Who on Earth would want a dentist like him. read more

I would highly discourage anyone from obtaining care with Dr. Phan. He recommended that I have a filling drilled out and replaced. He was not patient and clearly irritated as I asked questions. He gave me a shot of numbing agent and the front of my face numbed but not the back section of my teeth (the tooth with the filling was the last tooth). He began drilling anyway and when I asked him to stop he gave a second shot in the same place. This further numbed the front of my face and still did not numb the tooth he was working on. He insisted on finishing and drilled without numbing (which was incredibly painful). He was rude and gruff about it despite the fact that I was clearly hurting. I would strongly recommend you go anywhere else and see any other dentist. read more

I went crazy one Halloween and my 12 years molars got completely destroyed. Since then, I have had so much work done on them that I can say that I am now a Dental Connoisseur - I have gone through no less than 8 dentists on both coasts, and thousands of dollars doing, redoing, and blinging up mouth, all for the love of sugar. I had a great dentist in LA, so I freaked out when I had to leave him because it took me over 15 years to find him. My friend referred me to Dr Phan because he apparently helped someone she knew to deal with some really bad dental issues. His office staff was SUPER friendly, and the three times I went, there was very little wait or I went straight in. Dr Phan is an absolute gentleman, a professional, and he has great beside manner. I'm someone who no dentist has ever been able to convince to stick with prophylactic measures, however Dr Phan spent a good 30 mins with me just to tell me different ways to make it easier to stick with it - no other dentists have ever done this and since seeing him I've been a lot better about flossing and using my sonicare etc. He redid one of my crowns and the whole process could not have been easier - I barely noticed getting the anesthetic shot, he and his staff know exactly how much or how little pressure you can handle, and he is totally meticulous with regards to everything he does. My temporary crown felt like a normal tooth unlike previous ones I've had, and while it usually took other dentists a good hour or so to get the crown sanded just right, he did it in just three passes and it was perfect. Dr Phan is the best dentist I have ever had, so now I don't worry while I'm throwing down the ganaches, I know he can fix it. read more

During my last few appointments, Dr. Phan spent almost no time examining my teeth after the cleaning. The last time was particularly bad. After the cleaning, Dr. Phan came in like he was in a rush (he was in the middle of a procedure with someone else), took a 5 second scan through my teeth, and said I needed some very serious/expensive work on a region of my mouth, and started to leave. The dental hygienist was surprised because she didn't see any problems with that region during the cleaning, and the X-rays didn't show anything. He then quickly left before I could ask any questions, without offering any explanation of what made him see this region as a problem, and he certainly didn't spend any time talking through any of the options. On my way out, I asked the person at the front desk, she said it would cost about $4K. Because I didn't get any information from Dr. Phan himself, I started asking her questions about the procedure, particularly why it was necessary, she said she would talk to Dr. Phan and would get back to me that day--she didn't. Then I called a few days later to speak with Dr. Phan directly, she said he would call me by the end of the day--I heard nothing by the end of the day, so I called back myself, Dr. Phan already left. So of course I got 2 second opinions, both saw my teeth and X-rays and said that there aren't any problems with that region, and that I don't need any of that work. That was months ago, and that region is still perfect. To summarize: Dr. Phan said I need major/expensive work on a region of my mouth that multiple other dentists said I actually didn't need. This would be about $4K worth of unnecessary/painful work. He didn't offer any discussion about his logic for why it needed work, and certainly didn't spend a second talking about options. This place has always been very expensive compared to the literally hundreds of other good options out there, but it has gone very downhill with Dr. Phan's lack of service, and he lost all my trust during my last visit. Also, they schedule your cleanings for days that Dr. Phan isn't even there, without telling you. The dental hygienists have always been friendly and great there, so you get a nice cleaning, but no doctor to do an examination. read more

I have had dental phobia since I was a child due to trauma in the mouth. I've seen many dentists and have been to many different offices throughout my life. Dr. Phan has been my prosthodontis/dentist for the past 10 years and he is the only one that has gotten things stable and most importantly I no longer feel the anxiety I would get at every dentist visit. Both hygienest are amazing, they do things differently but they both do a fantastic job. I am much more aware of my dental health now and I absolutely owe it to this amazing team. Wish I could give 10 stars, these older reviews do not give this office the credit it deserves. I recommend this office to any adult dealing with any level of dental needs. read more

Went to this office, they told me I have great Insurence and the treatment will be for free. Then I get a bill home, the coded it differently and , the women says to me the Insurence is not good. Didn't even call me to apologize or warn me the bill is coming. My feeling is they only want your money. Would not recommend this doctor at all. read more
