Everything was delicious and I was heart broken when the truck disappeared. I would still pass by whenever I could to see if they returned, hoping, praying that they would return. Recently, a friend found this yelp page and scrolled through the comments and found that another customer said they're at this other location in Vernon. I live out of town now and just flew in last night. We decided to take a chance and see if was truly my beloved primos. The NEW LOCATION for my Lincoln Heights peeps is indeed now in Vernon. 5681 S Downey Rd Vernon, CA 90058 We got there last night and circled around a bit but closer to take a look at the truck and it's definitely not the white truck that was parked in the Heights. It's a different orange truck with electronic signs on it. But when I stood up close to analyze the menu and the condiments outside, I can tell it was the same amazing salsa that I grew up on and some familiar faces inside. Now that we know where they are, we'll be making the drive from Lincoln Heights to Vernon for the amazing tacos. My heart is whole again after these rough past few years without their amazing food. Please. I encourage all of you to come here. Tell your friends and family. They're more than worth it. PS. I tried buying a whole bottle of my favorite salsa from them but they weren't down. Too bad. I'll try again next time.

50+ food trucks in one place? A dream come true…read more They had everything you could possibly imagine: Shaved Ice. BBQ. Sliders. Ramen. Boba. Icecream sandwiches. Dim Sum. Waffles. Grilled Cheese. Sushi. Filipino, Argentine, Greek, Brazilian, Korean trucks.... just to name a few. $10 to get in for this seven hour long event, and a portion of the proceeds goes to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There was also over 40 vendors present, carnival games, live music performances, an acoustic tent, art/car displays, and an electronic gaming truck! I really liked that xylophone display.. it was really fun to play with it. There was also a Yelp tent, and I got a cool bag and necklace after signing up :) I was really afraid that it would be really crowded (last food truck festival I went to was a disaster) But it was not! Wait time was usually 5 minutes for most trucks... and up to 15-20 minutes for the popular trucks! (Grilled cheese!!) Although I wish it wasn't sprinkling in the beginning, my friends and I had a blast! We all sampled 12 trucks! (Ta Bom, Rebel Bite, Tornado Potato, Temaki, Jogasaki, Tropical Shaved Ice, Crepes Bonaparte, Flying Pig, The Boba Truck, Tango Mango, Sweetesbakeshop, and Chef Che). Yes.. yes..I know. I kinda let myself go here. My favorite: JOGASAKI! One thing that really bothered me is that none of the food trucks sold drinks because they wanted you to pay for the overpriced ones at the bar :\ $3 for water/soda? $7 for beer? No thanks. I hope they have this again next year :)

The Wait and quality of food.. Not worth it…read more Came here around 12pm to get some lunch because I was in the area craving Thai. Their menu looked appetizing and the reviews were decent so I gave it a try. Before I ordered I asked how long the wait would be and she said 15min. So I ran an errand and came back, 15 minutes have past and I'm still waiting. I waited until 25 minutes before I asked about my food. she said it was coming up next, and sorry for the wait. I understood I mean it's lunch time. You can tell they were rushed, there's only two of them and the people waiting in line to order slowly left. She didn't acknowledge people waiting in line, she had he back towards them. 40 minutes have passed now and I'm HANGRY... She kept telling me it was next and that it's backed up. I waited another 10 mins before my food came out... By this time I was over it. I took a bite of the pad see ew and it was so bland... The beef is dry and tasted like they Rushed it.... All that wait for something gross.. Very disappointed !! I mean cmon even when I'm hangry and the food doesn't taste good still.... Sad

You ever order something that you thought was going to taste a certain way, and when you get it,…read moreyou find yourself dabbing other items' sauces on it in an effort to make it either taste better, or taste closer to what you thought it was going to taste like? Well, that's what just happened to me. I wouldn't mind trying other things on their menu, next time. I'm hopeful. But I have to admit, I didn't love the bbq pork noodle I ordered. It came with a peanut/vinegary/liquidy sauce. The noodles tasted like nothing, and the bbq pork was good. But I guess you're supposed to pour the sauce over the whole dish, else the noodles would just be dry and flavorless. Kind of like you do on Vietnamese vermicelli dishes.I've never had Thai food that way, but I'm open-minded. The prices were a little on the high side for a food truck. I mean, why are food trucks generally expensive for fast food? It kind of contradicts the whole concept behind the "roach coach". Dontcha think? These prices were like sit-down restaurant prices for the pretty good Thai food places around town. So, not sure how the whole business model of having high prices works out for these food truckers. I also ordered the fried tofu with the sweet chili sauce. You can't go wrong on fried tofu, so nothing to write about besides it's good :). Service? They could definitely pick up some storefront personality and speed. But overall, they seemed nice.

Mariscos Jaliscos is a simple, humble and easy going food truck that easily beats any sit in boujee restaurant. Their menu is simple and easy to understand. Mariscos Jalisco is best known for their Fried shrimp tacos however, they have one of the best aguachiles I've tasted hands down. Their shrimp tacos are absolutely amazing with the right crunchiness and soft fried shrimp inside. The sauce that comes with these tacos are jam packed with flavor adding to the overall flavors/texture of the shrimp taco. Hurts to say it but this might be my new favorite shrimp taco in ELA/Boyle Heights area. The service here is quick and friendly. I went on a Friday afternoon and did not find busy crowds at this food truck. Street parking is available and the times that i've visited other food trucks nearby i was able to find quick parking. Its a busy street so you will find people coming in and out of parking spots most of the time. I enjoyed my experience here at Mariscos Jalisco and will be coming back very soon.
