Wow!!! This is now the best Thai food I've ever had. The presentation of the food with the flowers was a beautiful touch. The spring rolls were super fresh with warm peanut sauce..yum!! I ordered Pad Thai and again, fresh. It was light on the sauce with a healthy serving of chicken and shrimp. I did not leave hungry. The food came out very quickly and the service was sweet. I'd given this a five star review and it was my favorite Thai restaurant merely because they were the only one anywhere nearby that made the "brown" phad thai (called kuwer-kai) that is not all sugared up. Alas about two years ago they changed that recipe dramatically and their brown phad thai is inferior in every way. They use so little of the brown sauce that the rice noodles remain white and have almost no flavor. Their servings of all dishes are small and a bit pricy, and only the former tastiness of that one dish justified going there. I stuck it out a long time waiting for the original cook or previous recipe for kewer-kai to resurface, but I give up, there are better Thai restaurants than this one all over the place. read more

My sister & I had lunch here on a Friday while I was in town for a few days. The place was clean, the service was fast & our waitress was cordial. We got fried wontons as a starter & we both ordered the Chicken Pad Thai which I really enjoyed. The plate did come with a side of rice, but personally that was a little too much for me and I didn't eat it. Some of the worst Thai food I have ever had. I can make better with pre-made Safeway dishes. Ordered 3 dishes fish, chicken and beef. Can't recall the exact dishes, but they were three totally different dishes with different spices/recipes (I thought). Got three dishes with the same cut veggies that looked frozen or pre-made. All dishes looked the same other than the meat and sauce. Paid over $70 with tip and was not satisfied at all. In other towns and countries if I pay this much money I can get at least 4-5 amazing dishes that you can tell are made to order and taste amazing! read more

I came for lunch one day to try out their Phad Thai. I figured with the restaurant name "Phad Thai" their signature dish had to be great... But I was sadly mistaken. I got Phad Thai with chicken, it was served with a scoop of rice on the side which is typical when ordering this dish at many restaurants. The noodles had congealed together and were difficult to separate. There wasn't much flavor to the dish, other than whatever they used to make it spicy (I asked for a 3 on a scale of 1-5, 5 being the spiciest). I like Asian food because most times you can taste the different flavors that are used to create unique tastes... There was definitely nothing unique or remarkable about the Phad Thai they served me. It was missing "something" and I'm certain that it was the sauce. They mixed a small amount in, but they dropped the ball and didn't add enough. Their service was average, nothing remarkable, and definitely not the most attentive. The food came out quickly, which was a plus since I was on limited time, but at the time I ordered there was only one other person in the restaurant. If I ever go back I'll try something else, but if I want Phad Thai specifically I won't be ordering it from here. read more

We came here without reading the reviews first. I ordered the Tom Ka vegetarian and my partner a shrimp curry dish. I was pleasantly suprised the Tom Ka was flavorful and had straw mushrooms. Yay! I can't stand uncooked button mushrooms. The broth was flavorful and the spice level perfect. The curry dish was fresh and light. The decor is boring, the service acceptable. Nothing special there. I've tried mediocre to great thai food in many many places in New York to the Central US to all throughout the western coast, mostly SoCal. I've never had thai food that I simply didn't like to the point I couldn't finish it... until now. The place is called "Phad Thai" so I thought I'd start with the namesake dish to give a fair assessment of the place. First, i got it 5 of 5 stars and prayed it would be HALF as hot as I like my food (sorry but you white-wash Kitsap locals have absolutely no conception of what the word "spicy" means). As i'm typing this, i've eaten 50% of my phad thai and my mouth has the sensation of chewing a piece of big red gum... perhaps less. There are tiny bits of thai pepper in there but they must have been canned in vinegar because they lack any potency... fresh cut thai peppers hurt. Despite my love affair with capsicum, i can still enjoy a good dish with no heat, but the disappointment didn't end here my friends, oh no. Throughout the mass of noodles, there way a rouge bean sprout here a sliver of bok choy there... but generally the dish was devoid of the classic veggies that usually compliment the dish so well. It was just noodles and small pieces of bland dry chicken obviously cooked separately with apparently no seasoning resulting in them having the consistency and flavor of styrofoam packaging peanuts. Some of the noodles were stuck in a clump suggesting that they had sit in a warm pot for some time. I should have heeded the voice in the back of my head warning me when the girl on the phone told me my order would be ready for pickup in "5 minutes". The overall flavor of the noodles was very bland with a general syrupy sweet taste that was too much. I really tried to like these noodles, I LOVE thai food and I really tried to justify even two stars in my rating, but couldn't. There were no redeeming qualities here. 4.5 stars on yahoo; WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?? Although they still don't meet my lofty benchmark, Sawatdy thai in Bainbridge is better. If you want OUT OF THIS WORLD thai; possibly the best i've ever had, go to Sabai in Port Angeles with high expectations and you'll still leave very impressed. I picked up some take out from here the other night. The gal taking my order on the phone was super friendly and they had my order ready in the stated 15 minutes. I couldn't believe how piping hot it still was when I got home...I may have burned my tongue thanks to my impatience :) I got an order of the vegetarian spring rolls (four huge rolls with a tasty plum dipping sauce) and the garlic lovers' delight with chicken. Everything was really tasty but I did notice the sauce on my chicken dish was very oily...you could actually see the oil sheen on it. Next time I think I'd drain the sauce out or maybe try a different dish to see if they are all quite so oily. They were pretty quick with my order but as soon as I got to my car it didn't smell right. I got back to my office and as soon as I ate the meat I knew it was rotten. After reading the reviews I thought this place would be something that I would like. I had the hot-sour soup which was okay, except that it had a bunch of oil floating on the surface of the soup. I thought this was sort of strange to see oil like that. I had the fresh spring rolls and the fried chicken wings. I thought they were tight with the shrimp in the spring rolls, there were only 2 per roll. The chicken wings were the best, but the dipping sauce did taste quite right for a sweet chili sauce. I also had the fat rice noodles with broccoli, beef, carrots, bamboo shoots and a couple of other things. I am not sure how to describe the taste, but it was not very good in my opinion. I am probably not going to go back, but if I were to, I would try some different items. Last of all, the wait service was lacking. This establishment charged me 10 dollars extra on my bill!!! I looked at everything I purchased during my meal and the bill came up to be $35. My bill however reflected $45!! When I brought this up to the cashier she had said that it was taxes and fees. I have no idea what she means because I had already been taxes on the bill, so there were two taxes and a fee that they couldnt tell me. Not a credit card fee as I had used cash. When I brought THAT up, I asked to speak to a manager and they said that she was gone and there was nothing I could do. In final, the food was meh. The customer service was atrocious. Every time I come through town I always come here! I travel a lot and I am always excited when I am in the area because I ALWAYS come here at least once. My husband and I tried this place recently after having a few mediocre experiences with other Thai restaurants in the area. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this place is not aesthetically pleasing at first as it is in a strip mall and right next to the Lover's Package, but inside it is very clean and nicely decorated. It took a little while to get seated at a table at first, but once they realized we were there the server was very attentive to our needs. The food was some of the best Thai I've had (and I used to live among the good Thai places in Seattle) and was very reasonably priced. My fellow squatch and I are new to the area and Thai food is our jam. We come from a distant land of amazing Thai food so the bar is set really high. This fell a bit short for me. I feel like its close to being authentic and flavorful, but its missing the mark. I will be back to try it again in a month or so to see if its an off day or consistently mediocre. I felt the two noodle dishes ordered were rather oily and the chili fried rice had an after taste that didn't sit well. The Thai Iced Coffee with coconut milk was fantastic and that alone may have me back regularly for a glass of that sweet nectar. Don't let the review deter you from trying the place... Its OK... A solid 3-star experience. It wasn't the best Thai food I've ever had, that's for certain, but it was far from the worst. I think their closest rival, Bahn Thai, is about the same quality of food and twice as expensive. Therefore...go here, unless you require your Thai food served in a building with a pointy roof and unattached to shady sex shops named "Lover's Package." I've only been to Pad Thai for lunch, and they have some really decent deals: $6-7 dollars for a good-sized plate, and it comes with a cup of the daily soup (in our case, some kind of mystery meat floating in broth -- big ol' meh). The service was pretty good, nothing special. Basically, it's a good place to stop for lunch, but the strip mall ambience would likely make me shy away for dinner. read more

This place is the Big Ripoff. I've been going to this place off and on for 20 years and they still haven't got the Thai food right yet, while over charging for the amount of food you get per meal. I normally order Pad Thai, which is always dry and I have to ask for extra sauce, which I didn't realize was an extra charge until just recently ( $1.50 for a little container about half full ). My most recent experience was a shocker with my take out order of Pad Thai which included some noodles fairly dry and very little sauce if any, a few pieces of chicken and that's it ( 12 to 15 dollars ). No rice, no extra sauce or anything else because that's all extra, which costs. I talked to the store about charging for the extra sauce, but they wouldn't budge and it was like talking to the refrigerator. I won't be going back to that place because I'm tired of being ripped off for what you get. read more

During my several visits to Bremerton/Silverdale area, I have eaten here twice- Both times for lunch. The food was good. The yellow curry was very soupy- which I hear has to do with the specific region of Thailand the chef comes from. Alot of potatoes too, almost too many. Almost like they were using the potatoes as a filler. The prices were good, and the service was good considering there was only one waitress on staff. The food was honestly not very tasty which was a bummer because we both love Thai food. I wouldn't say that it's the worst food that I've ever eaten, but it really lacked a lot of flavor. I ordered the shrimp Patties as an appetizer. They were quite greasy and I had to use a napkin to soak up the grease. The cucumber salad that they said it was served with it was just a few vegetables swimming in some sort of sauce that was flavorless. I also ordered the squid in garlic sauce. It had fresh green onions, celery, broccoli, and carrots. The broccoli and carrots tasted as if they were cooked ahead of time as they were both very soft. The onions and celery were crunchy. The food was swimming in this sauce that was also not much to get excited about. I ate the solid food in it and you can see how much sauce very thin sauce is left in this plate. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend, and asked what he was thinking. I am very disappointed. The waitress was friendly, but she did not ask me if I wanted anything to drink. I eat here almost every day so I can rightly say how they rate compared to a one time visit or even a few visits. The Ginger lover or the Garlic lover entree is excellent as many other dishes are good. I even know that they use product such as their coconut milk that is straight from the motherland. I was so excited to try this restaurant because I saw they had two varieties of phad thai - the "typical" version and one with brown sauce. The best phad thai I've ever had was a brown sauce phad thai (Chada Thai in Greenwood, anyone?) but it's very hard to find! I got take out and when I got home I was disappointed to find a heap of dry noodles without any toppings or color - not even any carrots, bean sprouts, or green onions, and a meager amount of chicken. It also didn't taste much like the brown phad thai I've had, more like classic phad thai but with far less sauce/textural interest. I ended up adding my own seasonings to give it more flavor and heat. I really wanted to like this restaurant but can't recommend it based on my experience. I have yet to try Silverdale's other Thai options but for now I recommend Kachai in Poulsbo if you're looking for good phad thai! read more

Good curry flavors are key, not heat, and if you are passionate about heat, request it correctly like my husband does in Dubai - as "Thai Spicy." CONS: ~Hot food in PLASTIC containers when using take-out...a VERY bad combination. Restaurants that have a clue use paper take out containers. NONE of these containers were even recyclable!! ~Small serving sizes ~Overpriced...high price for small amount of food. ~GMO soybean oil. Soybean oil is the cheapest to produce and the most UNHEALTHY oil out there next to hydrogenated. Olive or avocado oil would actually be healthy. ~An additional $2.50 to substitute brown rice for white rice. If you know rice prices the mark up is over 700%. Their website says "healthy" food. I think they need to look up the definition, and make some changes to live up to the "spin" they are attempting. Major changes needed to live up to healthy. read more
