BEWARE This guy Michael Amerlin is a total scam artist. We unfortunatley signed an agreement and…read morethen when house under remodel and unable to use the system, he would NOT credit any money back for monthly monitoring we could not use. Additionally, when I received renewal notification, which I promptly and well ahead of the 30 day required cancellation of renewal terms, told them I WOULD NOT be renewing. Just found out that he sent us to collection for $400 - this guy shouldn't be allowed to be in business. TOTAL CON ARTIST. Look at the other reviews. I should have looked closer as we are not the first customers that he has sent to debt collector. Also, upon looking at the agreement, he had marked a 60 months initial term renewing annually - while talking and acting it was a basic contract. THIS GUY IS A TOTAL CROOK - STAY AWAY. UPDATE MORE LIES IN HIS RESPONSE. We sent him cancellation notice well in advance of agreement, and we never were sent an invoice for his claimed unpaid bill. The facts are this business is a scam and a legitimate business operation would not falsely claim they are owed money for a service he was notified we did not any longer want. This is after almost a year and half of non-use for a paid service because we are remodeling. TOTAL CROOK. STAY AWAY.

The few times we've had a problem with the system ( usually user error), Michael has responded immediately. He is knowledgeable and clear with his communication and prompt in addressing any issues. The cost of installation and monitoring is very reasonable. I highly recommend WestAlert.

I've been a very happy Kemgas customer for nearly 10 years, but they truly went above and beyond…read moreyesterday (the day after Thanksgiving) to rescue our holiday weekend. Our propane tank gauge read 30% full, so I was waiting to order a refill until Spring, but then on Thanksgiving Day (luckily just after we finished preparing our multi-course family feast) our propane RAN OUT -- no stove top cooking, no fireplace (our sole heating source), no hot water. I called Kemgas Friday morning, left a message with their emergency service, but since their office was closed for the holiday, I figured we were out of luck (and heat) for a few days. Imagine my surprise when, less than an hour after my message with their emergency service, I received a call from Kemgas informing me that they had a driver in my area that day who then arrived within 90 minutes to refill our tank and then took the time to help re-light our various propane fixtures. (He also diagnosed the problem with the gauge -- banged in a few times and then it correctly read zero.) It's this kind of customer service that will make me a Kemgas customer for life. Many thanks!

They CONTINUE to bill you, even AFTER your service is shut off. Read that again, if you're service…read moreis NOT IN SERVICE you still recieve a CURRENT (not past due) BILL. Also noteworthy, you better not need water or sewage help at all after 3pm, or at all on Thursday Friday Saturday or Sunday. Unless you have 150 bucks to give them. Oh yeah, and the last thing, its a unique thing that i personally have never heard of, and makes me wish my Grandpa was alive still, he managed San Franscisco water dept until he retired, they do flat rate AND usage billing. So for instance a household of 2, AUTOMATICALLY pays 200 per month, THEN THEY CALCULATE ANY USAGE AND ALSO BILL. So our bill was 230-250 monthly. 200 because there are 2 of us then we would use 30-50 dollars worth of water. And idk where they get this "high quality" water that is in their mission statement. Our first year living here, we were warned to ALWAYS boil our water for 3 minutes MINIMUM before actually using it for ANYTHING. Texas didn't even have water that bad and as a matter fact, the water dept is about 95% of the whole reason we are selling our house. And moving to a different town in this county. Our bill was actually LOWER when we lived in contra costa county, and had a 4 bed 3 bath house with 5 roommates and 3/4 acre landscaped yard. Yes, LOWER AND IT CAME ONCE EVERY 3 MONTHS THERE. so if you have the option AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS (which I'm sure they will charge you for anyways) If we had a way to file official complaints, I would've done so when I got a bill for the 6 months PRIOR to us even buying the house. 1200 bucks for July to September. We moved in the middle of sept. And had to pay off the old bill before getting our service on

Also get a water shut off outside since they put in these new meters they lock your water on so if you have a line break or something you have to to call them to turn off your water which takes a while causes at more damage and you get charged for something we used to be able to ourselves for free. Outrageously high bills being it over $120 before you even get a drop of water. Sure part is sewer but we are paying close to LA prices and we are one of the lowest income counties in the state. Beware mother and daughter run that place and they are the last people that should work in customer service positions
